Would be nice as it is modeled in the Ka-50 pit.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

It doesn't do anything to reduce glare in the Ka-50 pit. Just makes the whole image darker, which is even worse.

With the HDR and some direct sun glare, I would have been happy to preserve the pilot's retinas.

Unfortunately, I think it's a very specific task to change the lightning/rendering in a portion of the rendered frame/screen. That may be why it isn't implemented and why it's so bad in BS2.

Out of curiosity, I also opened the model viewer and the cockpit seems pretty much ready at a DCS level (almost every switch/button/… is animated). Let's hope for the best.

In the meanwhile, I think it should be easier to implement a Zsh-7ap helmet retractable visor, and thus changing the whole rendered image (reduce HDR values, colors, and the sun halo size) (but it probably won't help the HUD readability while facing the sun).

Maybe a mod could do that?

PeterP and Diveplane have made some nice mods, but I don't know if it's possible to change the HDR/halo on the fly via a lua script or something. I assume it's not possible to dynamically change the hdr.fx values (or something similar) without restarting the 3D engine?
