after the update today I can no longer load into VR it gets as far as the menu page and freezes. task bar reports dcs not responding? I have an older version on the same drive which loads fine. any ideas anyone? I have tried openxr and steam vr but no luck :(

I have the exact same problem I have no mods at all and have tried deleating fxo metashaders and tracks also full repair but no luck spec's 3090- 12900k- 64gb ram windows 10

I recently built a high end pc with the help of this forum and im glad I went with 64GB I have alredy seen 44GB being used in VR heavy multilayer

Thanks Bossco82 I only asked because I have seen one person saying you should put just OS and DCS on the C drive and another recommending the same as Rudel_chw. There never seems to be a straight answer in computing I probably would never notice the difference anyway just wanted it as optimised as possible Thanks again

Hi I have put together a high end system with the advise I receved from a previous thread which includes 2 x samsung 980 pro 1TB drives. What I need advice on now is do I put the OS on C drive and DCS on the E drive? Or OS and DCS on the C drive and any other unrelated stuff on the E drive? This is my first build and any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Thanks very much for the links and advice much appreciated but I still have a couple of questions (Sorry) are you saying that 3200 or 3600 cl14 is better than say 4400 cl19 for my system? if so why? is it just to with it being B.Die I thought that was just an AMD thing? help And if I get 64gb does the whole 64gb have to be from one packet (matched) or can I buy 2 lots of 32gb same make and specs to make up the 64gb? I can try to tell you how it performs but I haven't got anything to compare it to apart from my current system.

I did a bit more digging and from what I can tell the best Z690 DDR4 MOBO at the moment is ASUS ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming WiFi D4 so I have just this minute ordered one from CCL. also ordered the PX100 PSU from Scan. im still looking at the 360 coolers and of course the ram. I haven't even looked at cases yet but I think I can handle that one lol

OK what's better 4 x 16 GB sticks or 2 x 32 GB?

I live in Kent in the uk mate and just for info I only play multiplayer and always in VR. I have a pretty good system now so im not panicking I just wanted the best system money could buy specifically for DCS. I have done weeks of research but just keep going around in circles remember this will be my first build. I thought if I asked on here with it being the DCS forum that I would maybe get an answer. I am very grateful for the advice I have had from all of you thank you I serpose at least I know all the other bits to get its just the ram now.

Its not that I thought DDR4 would cause a performance loss I just thought DDR5 would be better if you know what I mean I sort of understand what you are saying about the ram I had a quick look on line and found G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32GB (4x 8GB) 3600MHz CL14 DDR4 It does not say what rank it is though? is this what I should get?

All I have actually brought so far is the 3090 and 12900K so Im still free to choose a motherboard. after what has been said maybe DDR4 would be a better way to go and every thing is available now. so the revised shopping list would be MSI Z690 EDGE WIFI DDR4, Samsung 980Pro 1TB drives, PX1000 PSU , 360 AIO cooler all in copper if possible and 64GB DDR4 ram, I have seen ram at 4000mhz and above should I get that or is 3200 just as good in DCS?

Now you have got me going again ASUS or MSI The 360 AIO sounds good to me nice and simple. like you have said the 3090 can take care of its self and I do not think I would be confident putting together the DIY loop setup just yet. the idea to support the GPU is good I will do that... so is it ok to fit the AIO in the case it just looks like there will be a lot of fans all fighting each other for air?

Thank you very much my shopping list is coming along nicely now I think I will go with Samsung 980Pro 1TB drives, PX1000 PSU ,Hero Motherboard, still not sure on the cooler yet. The only thing that could throw a spanner in the works is getting hold of the DDR5 ram. Just out of curiosity what is your opinions on the Vario aero? I hear it does not support motion reprojection and my experience so far is that DCS and the G2 do not work well without it.

Hi all, I am trying to get together all the components to build a PC for best VR perforamance in DCS. The PC will not be used for any other purpose and the cost is not an issue. So far I have HP G2 a 12900k and an ASUS 3090 gpu and thats it. I have been trawling the net for weeks looking at reviews of ram motherboards ssd excetra and its driving me mad. every time I think I have found what I need I find another review thats says the opposite There are so many conflicting opinions on whats best I thought if anyone can help it would be on here. If anyone could point me in the right direction Like ram DDR4 or DDR5 is it worth waiing for DDR5? which make and speed? which SSD? which motherboard? which PSU? This will be my first attempt at a pc build and I have little experience so any help would be much appreciated Thanks in advance

Hi Thanks, The reason I was asking is beacuse I usually use unlimited weapon's quickly on multiple targets and its a bit of jar having to wait for 3 minutes for them to warm up between reloads:)
