Hi Everyone, I had the pleasure to make the textures and liveries for the Horntail Carapace Mod, adding the iconic Carapace EWS system to the DCS Viper. This system (IRL) is a electronic warfare suite designed for the Belgian airforce. The mod is visual only, but adds a new intake chinpod, nose sensors, a new dorsal fin and a JHMCS tracker in the cockpit. Check out the trailer here: I hope you will enjoy flying this mod!

Too much posts to comment on them all, but stunner work as always brother!

Hi all, I've been very busy with Aviastorm and other projects, but here is a early version of the pack: https://mega.nz/file/eLgikQBS#wnotTnlaD76qzMooy4CA_G7_UwM2uiYNAUq3f8rAlJ4

Sadly these skins weren't included in the 2025 video, although I have offered up those units shown. The skins are now at ED for review, but in the meanwhile they are already available on User Files

Nice work on the 370 gal tanks! I didnt see those when I made 379 as part of my 79th pack.

Hi, just want to check you downloaded the latest version?

Hi ED Staff, After the inclusion of the (great!) new pilot model, the patches on the left arm of the pilot are mirrored. For years this patch used to be flipped and as such all of us skinners would flip the patch in photoshop when making skins, a small effort. However, after the update this flipping by default has been undone, causing all custom patches we have ever made to now be incorrect. Would it be possible to undo this flipping by default? So the patches made before the last update would still be correct? To add to this: the rank shoulder patches where also rotated 90° degrees, if possible reversing this would also help out livery artist not having to go back and redo all their patches. Thank you for considering this little change that will save all livery creators a lot of time .

Hi all, As some of you might know I'm working with Leeh1y to create the new default skins for EU Vipers. Attached some pics of the skins I've just uploaded to UF for ED's approval. You will notice the RDAF and BAF skins have some 'creative solution' for bort numbers, as currently these positions of borts are not yet supported. You may also notice these skins feature my custom 'PW' like nozzle and reinforcement plates, as found on all MLU vipers. I hope these will be included by ED to make these jets as close to A vipers as possible. The Norwegian skin has a lot in common with my buddy Wolfthrowers' RNOAF skins, since he was kind enough to let me use some of his assets. Hope you (and ED) will like them

Little update on this: the pack now includes an American, Dutch, Polish, Danish and Belgian flag, with more to follow.
-
Made this flag for a BAF skin yesterday and after seeing a lot of postive remarks, this may turn into a little drag and drop pack of different nations flags
-
I have a ton of ANG units done (AL, AC, SCANG, OH )
-
I can confirm this, thanks to Leeh1y for putting me through, will be a good division of work now!
-
And on second look, that is also my ejection seat and my MLU panels on the nose between main1 and main2. I hope you are not planning releasing these liveries with part of my work included. Feel free to PM me to discuss.

Hi ! Is that my nozzle?

Aqil, thank you very much for this post. Seeing one (talented for sure) creator be asked to create skins whilst they already exist from multiple other creators such as you mentioned was disheartening. I hope ED can reconsider their choice and add liveries from different Viper-loving creators, as we have all poured our hearts and souls into them, giving them extra details like rivets, reinforcement plates, nozzles, that make them so much more realistic.

Hi Wags, Looks like I am a little bit late to the party. I must say I'm a bit confused by the decision to have one user create new liveries (for payment?) whilst all of the listed things exist, in good quality. Should you decide to reconsider, below you can find my offerings: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3311471/ Belgian Air Force, along with accurate nozzle and reinforcement plates for added realism. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313305/ Dutch Air Force, with the same kind of unique details as the BAF https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3318186/ SP pack containing HaveGlass https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3320422/ SW 55th pack with HGV https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3319228/ SW 77th pack with HGV https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3320810/ SW 79th pack with HGV. OH jets I've just created for the upcoming Artic Thunder campaign. I'm aware some of these skins have a heavy filesize, but that can be fixed. As for the other jets, Texac has amazing SP, SW jets, Wolfthrower has Norwegians, Egyptian and PACAF jets. Plenty of other creators who have made uniquely detailed paints and gathered lots of views around the world with them.

I made the current one, would love to hear what needs improvement, apart from the model.
