  5. Still cannot produce a mission track. Where do I go look for a log of some kind? Ran the repair command, from the start menu. Validated files, applied some kind of update and still no change.
  6. OK, this sucks. Did the full reinstall, all the modules, everything in order, and it all installs and works as it should -- just like before. Except I still get the exact same behavior. Let me check now to see if I can at least get a track or a log or something.
  7. Good idea on the repair try, but too late. Uninstalled it and I'm downloading all the installation files for a fresh install. Hoping those activation keys are still in there.

  9. The debrief has 3 events. Mission start Player takes control Mission End That is it. EDIT: It does not permit me to save the last mission track. It displays a message that says it is unable to open the file lastmissiontrack.trk
  10. I thought I was doing something wrong, maybe something to do with my previous missions that I created, but I am having the same problem in the stock missions provided with this updated. I start a mission, and it loads, and immediately, I get a debrief screen and the mission is over. The mission runs about 1.5 seconds, if that. No CTD, nothing that is clearly broken. But I never see the inside of the aircraft or vehicle. Gotta be something obvious -- and probably embarrassing as hell. What am I screwing up here? Ripcord

  14. Who doesn't? Jeez, I think Mongolia has better beer than Bud. Most Russians thinks of the check Budweiser anyway -- now tell me that isn't good beer! Seriously, Russia has a couple beers that are OK. Some were lousy. But I used to like the Siberian Corona, and then I got into YarPivo for awhile. Baltika was the big thing for a long time, it is still good. There are few smaller regional ones that I came across in my time there. But heck, just about every decent European beer brand has brewing capacity in Russia someplace -- for a couple rubles more, have a corona and a lime (if you can afford a lime in Russia). Vodka is different though. That's a more serious event. Hard to explain.

Matt, So many of us have been checking in to see the latest news/update on the 1.2.3 update, and now that it is finally out, I gotta say two things: First, you guys really demonstated some integrity and fortitude in staying with this and hammering it out despite the setbacks. There will always be setbacks. I imagine some long hours went into that effort as well. And second, when I saw your announcement today, I felt the expected joy/elation at finally getting my own hands on this, but even more I had a feeling relief for you, not having to put out another announcement setback or delay! Really you didn't have to put out as many announcements/updates as you did, so I feel like you should be commended for that. You guys are great. Keep moving mountains. Also I know you had a holiday over there recently -- happy defenders of the homeland day to the fellas. Be sure to let them off early on March 8th. Thanks guys. Ripcord

  18. One thought -- could we not just create a mod of some parachuted bomb or illumination flare or something. Might be a good thread to start up over in the mods section. Since I lack any kind of mod experience, I would be able to ask the question and that's about it -- doubt I'd even understand the responses I'd get.
  19. This by the way, would be an acceptable work-around. Let the objects jump out in their parachutes then disappear, ala Janes FA-18. We can use the mission editor to spawn the troops on the ground and go from there. In fact I have already built missions this way, with an IL-76 flying over a designated drop point, followed by some radio chatter, followed by the appearance of Russian paratroopers in the open field below -- but of course I am lacking all the chutes in the sky to really complete the illusion. Sure it would be better if this was preprogrammed someway, so that a squad jumped and a squad then appeared on the ground, but like I said, it is a better than nothing option.

  22. If the Huey is really and truly on the way, then we do need some improvements in our AI infrantry -- both in terms of stance, appearance/texture, and to some extent, in terms of function. They need to be able to perform a few more tasks than just run, or stand there and shoot. Key among those will be get in/get out of helicopters, as well as paratroopers. Doesn't mean we need a full-on FP shooter grade infrantry combat sim, just that we DO need to extend the boundaries a bit.

  25. Would like to see the A-6 Intruder in that list as well. I think it would have a good following, with all these aircraft.
