For an entire year, I had no issues with using voice attack to center my cockpit view while using Track IR and now it no longer works. In fact, even without using voice attack, I can't even center the cockpit view using the num5 key while TrackIR is running. The only way I can now center the cockpit view is when Track IR is not running which defeats the purpose of using TrackIR in the first place. Note that I had the trap option for the num5 key unchecked which allows Track IR to pass the keystroke to the next application. So, at this point, I can no longer play DCS World because I have to reenter the cockpit every 15 minutes or so, and I cannot do this while TrackIR is running. I tried restoring my saved games from a backup but this didn't work, so something has changed. Can anyone explain to me why none of the center view keys work when TrackIR is running, but do work when TrackIR is not running?

So far the only modules that I am having issues with are the A-10C and A-10CII. My issue is that SRS is not recognizing my joystick presses when I am using these two modules, but SRS works perfectly when using other DCS modules such as the F-18C and F-16C. So I'm pulling my hair out trying to resolve this issue. What is weird is that SRS shows the correct radios in both the A-10C and A-10C II modules, and if I press the keyboard bindings of the radios, then SRS shows that the radios are selected and displays the TR letters next to the corresponding radio. SRS works on the multiplayer server when I am using the F-18C or F-16C modules, but doesn't work when I switch to the A-10 on the same multiplayer server. The SRS configuration windows shows the correct joystick bindings, and I cleared and then reset the bindings to verify that SRS is detecting the key presses on the joystick. Note that I tried several multiplayer servers and I still get the same issue with the A-10C and A-10CII modules.

I plan on moving DCS to another computer and for each plane I exported out the Keyboard, Joystick, Rudder pedals, and the throttle profiles. I also exported out the profiles for the "General" and "UI Layer" sections. I know that I need to copy the DCS saved games folder over to the new computer. So when I run DCS, the profiles for the controllers will not exist due to the USB ID being different on the new computer, and DCS will create default profiles for my Keyboard, Joystick, Rudder Pedals, and Throttle. So, I'm assuming that once the hardware is plugged in, I clear the profiles for the Keyboard, Joystick, Throttle, and Rudder Pedals, and then import the saved versions? Has anyone tried this?

I plan on moving DCS to another computer, and I don't want to have to remap the joystick buttons. Since this will be a new computer, the USB ID will be different. Is there a way to change the USB ID using the VKB software. I managed to find the USB ID in the registry, but there are too many instances of the ID to change it manually on the new computer. The Virpil software allows you to edit the USB ID within the configuration software, but I cannot find away to do this with the VKB Sim software.

Need help in tuning zoom axis for paddle switch.

Thanks, I tried that and it didn't work. -
Is there a mod that labels the buttons around the cockpit Displays?
RTS354 replied to RTS354's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Not really then you are fumbling for the mouse in VR. -

RTS354 replied to RTS354's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I'm using voice attack and have programmed all of the DDI's to use voice commands to activate the buttons, it's quicker to just speak the button name instead of programming all of the DDI menus and submenus. I looked at Bailey's voice attack profile, but the problem is that I have a accent so I instead of staying for example "R", I have to program voice attack to respond to "Are". This issue is that I only want to use voice attack simple voice commands for the DDI buttons, so that I can say the button position over the menu option, instead of the DDM menu option itself. As I stated, I have a heavy accent which confuses voice attack a lot. -
I have a SB Sim Gunfighter Pro which is an excellent joystick BTW, but I'm having a hard time in figuring out how to tune the paddle switch to start the zoom from the normal zoom position instead of the maximum zoomed out position. I want to start out at the zoom normal position, and when I squeeze the paddle switch, I zoom out.

The reason I'm asking is that I play in VR, and I'm creating a fully voice activated cockpit. For the DDI buttons they are in groups L1 to L20 for the left display, R1 -R20 for the right display, and B1- B20 for the bottom display. So if I have the radar on the right display and want to change radar from RWS to TWS, I would say "Select R 5" to switch radar modes. Although with practice, I will eventually learn the position of these buttons visually, it would be nice if there were a F-18C cockpit mod that had buttons on the numbers. This may not be possible if only one texture is used and repeated for each button.

I would like to write a mod to copy the transmitted text information to the kneeboard, but I cannot find any API's that capture transmitted game text. There there an API to do this? I can't find this in the API documentation.

Can't program the launch bar on the F-18 to stay down.
RTS354 replied to RTS354's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
OK, just figured it out. Apparently, the description part of the controls screen was hidden, so all I saw was the Launch Bar Extend/Off, etc, and not the description. So once I expanded the description field, I was applying my key bindings to the circuit breakers of the Launch Bar instead of the Launch Bar switch. So now everything is working. Thanks for the suggestions. -
Can't program the launch bar on the F-18 to stay down.
RTS354 replied to RTS354's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Just tried using other key bindings and I get the same issue. It doesn't matter what keys I bind to either the Launch Bar Retract, Launch bar Off, or Launch Bar On/Off, if I use a key binding to activate this switch, the switch fails and no longer works, BUT as long as I don't use a key binding and use the mouse cursor to activate the switch, the switch works fine. I checked the General, and UILayer section to verify that the same key binding wasn't used for some other function. I'm using the F-18C in Simulator mode. -

RTS354 replied to RTS354's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Yea, I'm using the latest and greatest, but I been trying to bind the B key, I didn't think about binding another key so let me give that a try. Thanks for the suggestion. -
Has anyone tried to bind a keyboard shortcut to raise and lower the launch bar? When I bind a key to either the launch bar On/Off, or Launch bar On and Launch bar OFF, the launch bar will not go into the ON or DOWN position. But If I click on it with the mouse cursor, I can set the Launch bar switch in the down or ON position. If I try using a keyboard shortcut to move the Launch Bar in the down or On position, it breaks the game code to were I can no longer set the launch bar in the down position even with the mouse cursor. I have to restart the mission to get it working again with the mouse cursor. Can anyone try using a key binding to lower and raise the launch bar to see if this is just my configuration or a bug?

correct as-is Frustrated with figuring out how to use the F-18C Radar
RTS354 replied to RTS354's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Thanks for all the info. Harker was correct, I misunderstood how the donor targets works in conjunction with the radar. Also TorniQuetHD left several comments on my video explaining the same thing. I did as Harker suggested and turned of the datalink, and that resolved most of my issues. My misunderstanding was that I thought that once I select the radar target by pressing the target select button, the radar would be automatically slewed to the correct altitude and heading provided by the donor if the target were within the gimbal limits of the radar. My other question is that once you lock up a target, do you need to manually move the radar elevation to maintain lock, or does the radar automatically do this for you? Once again, thanks for the fast response to my stupidity. I'm a in a happy place now. -
I'm learning the F-18C and so far I got the ground attack mode mastered, but I having serious issues with learning how to use the air-air radar. I watched several videos on YouTube as well as doing the tutorials and it doesn't seem that complex, but I just can't get the STT or TWR mode to lock or even when I can see the aircraft in the distance. My radar setup is similar to what I see in the videos, but nothing seems to work. I am really frustrated at this point. Here's the link to the video showing all of the steps that I'm doing to try to lock up a target with the Air to Air Radar: Click here to view my video Any help would be appreciated.

LIke to have a replay mission that works like Tacview.
RTS354 replied to RTS354's topic in DCS Core Wish List
The problem with Tacview is that you cannot record high quality videos with it. I'd like to have an option where the replay function uses just the flight data like Tacview, but without the AI and the physics playback, and with all the other visual effects enabled. It would be nice if there were a time line where you could scrub forward and backward to pick the best video shots. BTW, how does DCS create their videos and don't seem to have the same problem as we have? -
With the latest update, I get this message on startup. The log file shows: 2021-01-06 02:52:53.120 WARNING DCS: Not Authorized, user-skipped: ./Mods/aircraft/A-10A 2021-01-06 02:52:55.072 INFO Scripting: plugin: SKIPPED 'MiG-29 Fulcrum by Eagle Dynamics': not authorized 2021-01-06 02:55:14.734 WARNING DCS: Not Authorized, user-skipped: ./Mods/aircraft/Su-25A I have purchased all DCS modules including the Flaming Cliffs and I can no longer fly these planes. The E-Shop shows that I have already bought these planes. Is there a work around this? dcs.log

DCS Crashing when replaying a mission track with F-18C
RTS354 replied to RTS354's topic in Game Crash
Thanks for the help, but, I did a re-upgrade to windows 10 and also changed the fan curves on my Video card and updated the video drivers again, and now I can't duplicate the crash. it may be that my video card was over heating and the fan curves were not aggressive enough. Once again thanks for the offer. -
Anyone beside me, who would like the option to replay a mission track in DCS like Tacview does? I'm just interested in viewing the movements of the vehicles and other weapon systems, so it would make creating videos much easier. The only difference is that the track file would not be dynamic, in that you cannot enter the mission, but only view the movements of the vehicles in the mission. You could also scrub forward and backward in the mission for recording purposes.

I seem to to only get the error below when I'm trying to replay a mission from the external view for a video that I'm making. I get almost up to the point near the end of the track and I get a crash each time. I had Dell scan my system for errors for two days and they found no hardware or software errors. My hardware is not exceeding any thermal limits. My PC was recently reloaded and DCS was reinstalled from scratch. I'm using the latest Nvida drivers for an EVGA 2080 TI card. This crash seems to affect the F-18C more so than the other planes that I fly. Anyone else have a possible fix or solution to this problem? Here's the error code: Faulting application name: DCS.exe, version: 2.5.6.58125, time stamp: 0x5fbba395 Faulting module name: d3d11.dll, version: 10.0.19041.546, time stamp: 0xef86554b Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00000000001298a0 Faulting process id: 0x3fb4 Faulting application start time: 0x01d6c9d6904a0cde Faulting application path: D:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3d11.dll Report Id: 397f21fb-89ab-4de0-91c5-9526827cb203 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID:

After the latest update, I'm still having the same issue that Baily posted if I change the GUI scale to a value greater than 1. I only have one monitor. Has anyone submitted a bug report on this?

Just accidentally hit "restart" on campaign screen after 6 missions!! Help!
RTS354 replied to coolts's topic in General Bugs
If the files are located in your profile folder, "Saved Games", you can use the Windows 10 file history to restore the files a day before you selected reset.
