I was that guy. Armorcrate was uninstalled to test. Clean saved games folder, slow repair, Drivers rolled back, BIOS rolled back, updated drivers, GYSNC, DDU, etc all the usually culprits. Core parking disabled. Hot plug disabled. DIMMs swapped, exchanged, XMP disabled, overclocks disabled. Just to name some of the big ones. I tried a lot of less likely things too. It still present. The common thread is extending the resolution to USB monitors and CPU usage spiking locking up the PC. You can unlock DCS moving the mouse around returning the CPU usage to normal. Stationary mouse, it locks up. Changing mouse polling rate has no effect. I'm keeping track of all the similar cases since this update. Rolling back to 2.9.13.6818.2 and it works perfectly and game runs super smooth.

These all seem related. Its definitely related to input polling. I can get my system to unlock moving the mouse back and forth. I dropped mouse report rate down to 125per sec. No Joy. Keyboard inputs unlock it as well. wwexport.lua isnt installed for troubleshooting, Saved Games folder rebuilt to default. Slow repair searching for additional files. All no joy.

SInce the latest update I have had massive stutter and lock up on the main menu when running across multiple USB displays (WinWing MIP). Troubleshooting steps: Renamed Saved Games/DCS Folder. No mods, no export.lua, closed WinWing software Ran only on main monitor. Ran normally. Extended game window across two DisplayPort Monitors. Ran Normally Extended game window to USB monitors. Massive stutter an locking up. Am I missing something? dcs across usb displays.log dcs.log

Cleanest run of the Hornet Demo. Need to work on incorporating some more variety to my repositions, as well as keeping them in tighter by meeting targets. Also need to set down some more markings for the airshow box for better timing to keep more maneuvers on show center.

Here, I did a better one after practicing a bit. VID_75820322_144901_448.mp4

It's doable. You risk departing if you do more than 3 much like the real thing. CF18 Demo Manual is unclass in the public domain. Maneuvers described generally work as they should. 25 degree AOA stick, roll, and rudder. I started mine out a bit messy this run as I haven't practiced them in a while, but second 360 worked out. https://www.faa.gov/sites/faa.gov/files/about/initiatives/airshow/CF-18_Fighter_Demonstration_Manual.pdf Desktop 2024.08.11 - 14.33.50.01_3_1.mp4

fixed FPS drops and mouse movement causing stutter
Callsign Munch replied to ExGreyFox's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Getting massive stutters too. Changing mouse poll rate does nothing. I'm not running VR. Edit. I think I may have solved mine by a clean install of video card drivers and turning Windows dynamic monitor refresh to off. Not sure which one did the trick. -
correct as-is HUD Designation with Mavericks
Callsign Munch replied to Callsign Munch's topic in Bugs and Problems
Here's another track. The point is that HUD Designation behaves as if the ball and chain are there regardless of the weapon. Select zero weapons and it behaves the same way. Designating from CCIP designates as if the ball and chain are there too, half way up the bomb fall line. You'll also notice the ball and chain pops up briefly when switching from CCIP to AUTO with nosewheel steering. HUD Designation 2.trk -
correct as-is HUD Designation with Mavericks
Callsign Munch replied to Callsign Munch's topic in Bugs and Problems
It's not CCIP. It's HUD/HMCS designation. You can use the HUD to designate in AUTO mode. Designating using the HUD is working just without the symbology. Tactical Pocket Guide directs you to assign TDC to HUD for employment. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/178838-fa-18c-pocket-checklist/?do=findComment&comment=3518866 -
correct as-is HUD Designation with Mavericks

And it designates as if it was there about 7 degrees below the FPM. -
correct as-is HUD Designation with Mavericks
Callsign Munch replied to Callsign Munch's topic in Bugs and Problems
It's the ball and chain HUD designation. Sensor Control Switch up to use the HUD and HMCS to designate without a designation. It will shorten in proportion to the angle of dive and speed, and be in line with the FPM in steeper dives, which is my work around for now. It works fine for conventional bombs, but not for Mavericks or JDAMs. It seems to be coded the same as it will designate around 7 degrees below the FPM in level flight, but without the symbology. It hard to visually designate a target in the HUD without it. -
correct as-is HUD Designation with Mavericks
Callsign Munch replied to Callsign Munch's topic in Bugs and Problems
Ball and chain, the Displayed Impact Line is missing. It designates as if it's there below the FPM in level flight but without the symbology so there's no pipper for designation. -
HUD Designating with Mavericks or JDAMs in level flight. TDC Designates below the FPM by approximately 6-7 degrees. I believe "ball and chain" symbology is missing for HUD designation with the above weapons selected. The fact that Designating in a dive by depressing the TDC, Designates directly under the FPM confirms this. HUD Designation AGM and Jdam.trk
