Hello there :) is the amount of pressure that initiates the deactivation of autopilot and the restoration of the aircraft's normal controls at all changeable ingame via the pilot's interface? Not meaning some weird file tweak or anything, but I've a pretty sensitive stick so I accidentally override autopilot quite alot with my T-16000M. Is there any way to change the amount of pressure that would cause the autopilot to disengage, or is this a hard-set setting in the real aircraft as well?

I'd buy a Predator sim first day. Even if its a sort of sim-lite, with mainly the different sensor stuff etc actually modeled.

Or until we get the Hornet! :P Cant wait to fly SEAD versus that kind of network. -
The trees being collidable is good news. I just hope that means they'll stop munitions and LoS for AI as well :(

Slewing the TGP with a helmet-mounted sight is pretty amazing.

Same! Hopefully its tweakable. It isnt exactly fair the Akula is the only one "suffering" from these... mistakes :smilewink: I hope not really, thats a very interesting file. I hope it isnt antiquated!

Heyo. So I'm flying a mission with friends that is a 60 mile/30 mile trip to a pick-up point and then landing on a carrier. I've been practicing carrier landings (and OHP landings, the latter with a 90% success rate :P) and Im curious if anyone uses trim as a means to assist/maintain your descent path during landings in the Huey? I am still having a bit of trouble following and setting-up a glidepath to use when moving to a designated spot due to over-reacting with the rudder and inadvertently causing a bit of upwards flying. Does anyone go "That looks about right" for the descent/glide, and then enable trim? Is this advisable, or suicidal?

Who is arguing that?

Will this mod be released on the DCS: Mod forums in the other thread? Sorry if this is offtopic, but this change will get a good few friends interested in DCS again!

Forum ate my damn post :( I want to preempt a possible derail into "The BMP-2 had an AA sight!" by sharing the following: http://vk.bstu.ru/book51/page25.htm How to use the AA sight. Look at what the AA sight actually is. And I 100% agree with you regarding the AI's awareness and reaction accuracy. Thats the issue that needs to be addressed, IMO.

Alot of it isnt the gun accuracy itself (dispersion), but the ease in which the vehicle detects and tracks the aircraft. Flying over a BMP-2 unit for instance with 4 vehicles, and they'll all initiate/detect you and begin tracking immediately. A buttoned up BMP isnt going to be able to do that, and even with the crew turned out preemptively its going to be difficult to pull off even momentarily.

Seeker and fuse sensitivity aside, couldnt the R3R and GAR have aspects changed just by changing text files? Would be interesting to see a modder with the competence model the archaic missiles with their proper kinematic properties at least :P

Hated having to intercept them in Falcon 4.0  You'd never catch them if they just wanted to get away. They thankfully didnt outrun Patriots though.

DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!
Nerdwing replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Nobody's arguing they're going to be a laser-of-god here, but in their current version ingame they're pretty damn beastly. The Russian AA-9 is also, which is why I brought it in as a comparison. When it boils down to it, there's going to be an aircraft capable of carrying a much wider variety of A2G weapons, while the F14 will still have the one niche in which it performs tasks the FA-18C simply cant (assumedly... Idk if we're getting the AIM-120D? That'd... sort of change things) I dont mean to come off as "haha F-14's carrying bombs is for losers!", because an LGB/JDAM doesnt care who the heck is dropping it and I dont think the guys on the ground benefiting from the strike are going to complain it was a Tomcat dropping the iron that may have saved their lives. Its just that there seems to be a disproportionate amount of hype over a niche in which the aircraft isnt really meant for. -
Floggers have always been kinda weird... I always figured them to be the super-Phantom analogue, not in intended role but in terms of capability. So it defeats the Phantom handily in most areas. But F14... ehhh...

Is there any list of functionality differences between the two to know what we're missing out on? :P From the sound of it, the Sniper XR just leaves the previous in the dust

Thats mainly what has me so confused. The Hornet will have ground-attack covered, so Tomcats can do more of what they specialize in :P Bombs = less Phoenixes. And who in their right mind wants LESS Phoenixes? -

Very impressed as well! I've often wanted to try this mod out, and despite having a single-monitor I've found it to be very intuitive and extremely useful. Excellent mod! -

Well in theory, what would you be dropping? And why wouldnt you be using an F/A-18 instead? :P Its best left to its intended role, IMO. Using it as an attacker just wont feel right... -
If its similar to the AA-9 performance wise ingame, then I can definitely see it shooting down its fair share of fighters. Are they similar missiles in terms of kinematics?

The wings. They swing, you see. Other than that and something about compressor stalls, I'm not sure! T:W ratio doent seem astronomical. Seems like it'd probably do a bit worse than an F-15, but better than a MiG-25 or 31. Whether thats a compliment or not is yet to be determined :P Wouldnt want to TnB with a Mirage though. Flanker and Fulcrum too I'd consider out of the question. Just throw a Phoenix at em now and then to remind them to stay away from your front-lawn, and you've done your job without getting kills :P
