Performance/FM Development Status DCS 2.8.3.37556 Open Beta FEEDBACK
Frosty2124 replied to maxsin72's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
the multithreading update is a massive step in the development of DCS world, HB postponing stuff is giving ED the chance to take credit for what they have done. this shows HB's support for ED and demonstrates cooperation between the 2 organisations. -

what i think iron mike is saying is that ED absolutely deserve to take the spotlight with this update, and HB is allowing them to do so. -

i did, he said "go look at the manual," I reckon if you were nicer, people would be more willing to help, maybe its time to remove the chip you have on your shoulder. -
Performance/FM Development Status DCS 2.8.3.37556 Open Beta FEEDBACK

the Dev's are very busy, the resources exist for a reason, you should always default to the approved data set first, if it isn't in there then ask the question. -
the engagement window for a ICBM with something as small as a phoenix would be tiny, and the tomcat would have to be way behind enemy lines, which means there are bigger problems occurring, generally ICBM interception was undertaken by land and sea based missiles (and satellites with frickin laser beams attached to their heads if rumours are to be believed). in short whilst YES an phoenix COULD, the parameter for such an engagement are so niche that its effectively impossible yeah, but ICBMs don't, the B stands for ballistic, in reference to their flight trajectory; basically straight up and then down. there were nuclear tipped cruise missiles, maybe this is where there is some confusion?

in what facet was i wrong pray tell? try not to be salty, this forum is for intellectual and calm discussion. and it's bad for you blood pressure. you've been advised to suck it up and move on, let all try and do that. -

more fantastic hypocrisy. Love it -

yes... the developer is telling you that it is more relevant elsewhere, surely you wanting to find a solution would appreciate being directed to the best place to answer your question. the hypocrisy in this statement is not lost on me, and hopefully most of the community -

did you really just tell the developer of the f14 that they're wrong about whether or not they can help you? I'm curious, what experience do you have that puts you ahead of the module SME's -

Mate, the way you're behaving now no one wants to associate with you. You're already 'untouchable' aswell as maybe 'unlikeable' and 'insufferable' -

Did you just '1v1 me on rust noob' someone on DCS? what's with the petulance, this is an environment for learning..... -

ah awesome, it from a systems engineer perspective it makes me feel sick XD, but software development is a wizardry all of its own so hahaha. its pretty much how i expected it to be, cheers for the gen fella -

basically, does ED let you see the build in enough time to bug fix as much as possible with what we see being the ones that slip through, or does it spring the updates upon you with fairly short notice. -

Serious, if slightly off topic question, do you get visibility of the changes before they are implemented or do they sneak up on you? I'm a systems engineer by trade so i'm curious as to how the relationships at the interfaces work cheers -

yes, but you would take legal action and not go onto the barbers forums and complain, if you feel that you're being scammed, lawyer up and may the odds be ever in your favour, which they won't because the words "early access", "subject to change" and may not be representative of the final product" are pretty strong legally, but I suspect you won't have read the EULA either, have a great day ! -
The metrics and dynamics involved in the development of a flight model for something so complicated in real life is incredibly hard, now develop that product in a game engine where the goalposts are constantly moving as the engine is updated and bugs and features are removed/introduced. Then add the increased difficulty of having to placate people who would rather complain on the forums in a non constructive manner as opposed to "this is the issue, i believe this is how it should perform" supplemented by approved, ratified and reliable data from reputable sources. I'm sure as the reasonable, decent, eloquent person you have demonstrated yourself to be on your previous posts, where you have in no way thrown the toys out of the pram and refused to at least attempt to understand that people educated or otherwise may be slightly more correct than you, (because you wouldn't do that, would you?) you've demonstrated the issue, now let the people more knowledgeable about the product, the challenges faced in game development, and the patience to deal with people who moan, continue to carry out the fantastic job that they are doing to deliver as realistic a product as possible. Sincerely, An aviation expert

Some personal opinion on f14's flight model during refueling
Frosty2124 replied to Ddg1500's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
one of the biggest challenges in general with sim flying compared to real world flying, is the lack of feeling between you and the aircraft, its the same with driving sims aswell, you'd be surprised how much that little bit of feedback can help you to anticipate the aircrafts movements. From what i can gather from your post, you might be flying reactively, waiting for the aircraft to move before correcting. try flying proactively, you know what effect your inputs will have and should be able to fly with that in mind. For example: when behind the tanker, a throttle correction will more than likely result in an over shoot of your target point. by flying proactively and anticipating the overshoot you can minimise the impact of it. the same is true for stick inputs. AAR is hard, it takes time, practice and above all patience. it can be easy to get frustrated, try not to though as it will make it more difficult. -
what in, i can say with some degree of certainty that i am more qualified and experienced in this field than you are...... are more people are more experienced than me so lets not play games here....
-
what? roll will never load the aircraft down like that? i think you may have your axis mixed up

for those that may struggle to understand it might be worth highlighting the <6.5g sections of these tables

I think the issue some people have is that you're unable to prove your point with solid irrefutable evidence. If could provide some that would be most helpful
