  1. You guys ex RN???? I was an ASW pilot in the RN.......
  2. Funny how it is always the same kids saying the same things over and over again......
  3. Already installed and this is what we are asking ED. Can this mod be included as standard on the core programme.
  4. If you are on a cold start make sure you have advanced the fuel control lever (yellow handled one) fully forward to 100% and gated....best to unbind this from your hotas and use the page up key to ensure its fully forward as if its not you wont be able to engage auto hover either......
  5. Hey Taz First got to say what a difference this makes to the scenes. Amazing work. However one thing I noticed when testing it is a divergence of wind angles for different smokes. In the picture attached you will see the smoke grenades are being blown by the surface wind but the smoke from destroyed units are going straight up. No idea if this is intentional or what but thought I would make you aware. Wind was 270/8 (reporting as real world not DCS.)
  6. Hey Bignewy I completely concur with previous comments on smoke.. Maybe have a look at integrating better smoke v4 I to the core programme. Its amazing and certainly represents smoke better and and ground smokes better as well as dust clouds on rotor effects and motor vehicle effects than what is currently present in the standard dcs.
  7. Cheers fella and much appreciated
  8. Anyone point me to readme file on how to install it using OvGME.....
  9. You need to be in a hover first to engage the auto hover........if you are up high then turn the artificial horizon to doppler to give you the best chance.....push the cyclic towards the cross until it is centred....then engage.....it is best to have it mapped to a hotas button so you can snap it on and off.....as for showing if it is on or not.....use the control display (#button on the keyboard)
  10. Thanks for your advice buddy.....I have pretty much copied your design and now have a hal sensor collective......so much easier to control and much more like flying IRL (90 hours on gazelle during BFT with 705NAS). For information I had a throttle on my joystick and simply rewired with potentiometer in the joystick body used to control the throttle to the hal sensor so no need to buy a bodnar board yet. Next job add speed select lever and do a cyclic.......leo bodnar.....I need one of your boards..... For those thinking this is was beyond your skills.....it isn't.
  11. Hey buddy......I am very interested in the use of HAL sensor rather than the use of pots for my collective build. I was going to tear out the 650K pot on my Siatek throttle and use lego gears on the axis pin to give me more sensitivity as in turning a 60' arc into 300' movement on the pot (gear ratio 5:1) Where did you get the HAL board/sensor from and do you just wire it in place of where the pot was on your Joystick board or did you need a whole new shazamizzle......
  12. I have already taken the plunge on the VKB's....thanks for the tip though.:)
  13. The Mustang reminds me of flying Chipmunks on grading flight at BRNC......tail draggers got to love them but need to find out how to apply a little differential brake to help steer.....

  15. That's a few times during covid I have been lucky on delivery. My quest was ordered at 0830 on a sunday and delivered by 2100 same day......lcos I'm a ucky man as the verve would sing lol
  16. Do you use pedals in a hornet other than taxi.......lol Jet boy coordination is fly fast and dont stress about the ball......lol
  17. I believe someone recommended them :music_whistling: TBF the difference in price between the Thrustmaster TRFP ones and these made me go.....ahhhhh feck its worth the extra spondolicks......hope I was right or I am coming for you with the missus in tow.....lol :megalol::megalol:
  18. Aircraft from the maps would have to include the Sea King as a neccessity......I am amazed no-one has put one up on DCS yet given the wide roles it has done....I might be biased though having flown them in the RN.....I believe I have seen a Lynx available though which might satisfy my need to HIFR
  19. I have bitten the bullet and gone for these bad boys to assist with rudder control.....hope they are up to the job..... https://flightsimcontrols.com/product/vkb-sim-t-rudder-pedals-mk-iv-2/ Now to look at stick and collective.......although I am thinking of modding the throttle control on my old Siatek Cyborg 3D into a collective complete with the buttons.....surely its merely a case of extending the lead from the throttle potentionmeters to keep the range but adapting it through a gearing to give only 55' of movement on the collective....
  20. Done and replied
  21. That doesnt look good.....and there was me getting all excited about flying my old machine again.....
  22. Have just been looking at rudder pedals and cant decide to go the full hog and thurstmaster pendulus pedals or more economic on the saitek ones.......:helpsmilie: As for collective.....I was looking at the handbrake option but it lacks buttons.......arrrghhhhhh the whole hotas things is a minefield in itself but mine needs to be packed away after every session due to lack of space and a missus that would agree to me having a full chair setup
  23. Hi guys and gals. So here I am starting my venture into the realms of DCS. I have an Oculus Quest and already discovered that if I want to do anything in here I cant use Touch Controllers and it has to be HOTAS so we will leave that alone for now and hopefully a patch or whatever its called comes out to be able to use them in the future. So why did I join? Well I am an ex RN Helo pilot and found out that I can fly the Gazelle. So with that in mind I am looking at getting rudder pedals in order to fly it as I used to on 705NAS doing low level fast stops, confined landings and all that shizzle before moving into multiplayer. As far as multiplayer goes how does it work? Is it just a case of blasting about the skies or is it more organised as a military style mission (thats what I am looking for tbf). Anyway nice to meet you all when I eventually get my setup sorted (HOTASwise) and see you in the briefing room at some point.
  24. Hi guys....this is exactly what I was looking for and rather than using the trigger buttons I wanted to use the left control stick to control the amount of rudder input.....is this correct.... bPressed|bLLeft|0,z bPressed|bLRight|0,x bPressed|bB|0,b bReleased|bLLeft|0, bReleased|bLRight|0, bReleased|bB|0, The B button was to apply brake btw Also I am slightly confused....does this only work in the steam version or standalone or both.....i set it all up and just tried it in the steam version and it didnt work as in no rudder input control which I am hoping is going to be linear along with the deflection of the left control stick.....am I doing something wrong....more than likely it is me but I am a newbie on this platform and VR...thanks in advance.
