  5. I have to mention that Str][ker is using DFR (varjo) which render 4 screens for VR instead of the regular 2. The GPU memory (VRAM) should still remain the same as to render 1 to multiple screen though. It definitely seem there is either a recent change or a memory leak or bad allocation of memory.

  7. OpenXR Toolkit doesn't support quad view exposed in openxr layer by running the game (DCS) in native openxr. I strongly advise you to join the varjo discord community about this matter. This is not a bug on DCS part (even if there is some bug on the implementation of varjo sdk in DCS). ED please do not consider this as a bug.

  9. The video is pretty much self explanatory. The first part is OK for movement, but when doing huge up/down head movement I get massive frame spike / stuttering and such. Focus on the frame time graph at the bottom. Same kind of graph, but not moving the head (disregard the first spike in frame time, it's due to the start of recording) Same up and down head movement but in ST, no stutter. The frame time just goes from 12 to 15 (compare to 12 to 28-35 in MT)
  10. Hi ! The mod DiCE (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3312680/), that was simulating a part of the DTC cartridge doesn't work anymore after the last update. Some file have been added to the list of integrity checks and doesn't allow us to edit them anymore. I can understand that some file would be integrity protected, but since ED haven't been able to provide us with the DTC cartridge in age and in the mean time they give us the possibility to do so, please allow us to edit those files again (CMDS_ALE47.lua and probably some others). Until the DTC feature, promised age ago, is developed and working, I find it strange for ED team to cut us from been able to edit stuff we should have been able to do a long time ago with an official feature, by removing the possibility to do so in the meantime with a third party ... Thanks !
  11. This is for foveated rendering (using eyes tracking). His teams needs to be able to know which eyes is rendered at a given time. For the record fixed fowarded rendering (or foveated rendering) make me gain about 10-20% FPS in DCS in VR which is a huge boost (sadly it's broken because OpenXR Tooling can't detect the eyes pattern). It would make us wait a bit longer before the revamp of the engine to allow better FPS in VR. So please, for a 30mins code base, it's worth it. Bellow a better quality capture.
  12. I can't ! The game crash taking 100% of system memory. Every single app on my computer crash, the mini display to report a bug is shown, but can't be interacted with ! The logs are most of the time not complete because the writing is also in error. The zip package of said file pretty much never happen. When I get logs and zip it's when the game crash for other reason ... We technically can't send you logs ! And we can't do your job ! Edit: i'm currently using 32Gb RAM and 32Gb page file. First time in 10years, I've to use page file again ! God damnit
  13. Same problem. This game has massive memory leaks ... Especially in MP. Playing VR. I have 32Gb and 3090RTX (which has 24Gb). I can run any game for more than 3-6hrs without crash. But DCS usually crash between 30mins to 1hr in MP. Each time same error message. The heck this game need a massif refactoring of code... And those saying increase pagefile, the pagefile of windows was never intended to prevent memory leaks, nor increase the available memory. It's a relic from the past when we only had 256Mb of RAM, not 32GB. Pagefile only delay the inevitable, memory leak is was it is. You don't solve a water leak problem by buying more buckets for f... sake. You fix the leak. Edit: Before been asked. No my RAM is fine, memtest86+ 8 pass no error. No I've enough RAM. No You don't need pagefile in 2022, even if I'm in the obligation to have it to increase a bit the time before crash. Yes if I increase pagefile game last longer, but STILL crash. GPU stability test for 6hrs. Game is fresh vanilla install, It's even on his own SSD with his own win install. Good damn Meta Immersive Synthetics help us, release NOR the sim for public so we can move on from ED, thanks.
  14. Dude my whole system is custom watercool, with less than 65°C max temps.. stop guessing what other reports. The temps are on Tdie, and either intel or AMD goes above 85-90, while the CPU package is at 60-70. RivaTunner is bugged on AMD Zen3 CPU, it affect a single Tdie temps to all other CPU cores. One core is at 85, while the rest are at 50. That's how modern Zen3 works to boost. Hence why you see 85-88 on all core. Not sure it's 200fps. I think it's more related to increasing FPS increase CPU usage, and when you reach 100% of the said single core, you can't go higher which imply lots of stutter. It it was just a hard limit of 200FPS we would have a stable 200FPS. What happen here is the GPU can do 250 for exemple, ask the CPU to render that fast, CPU can't handle, frame are dropped, CPU goes lower, GPU ask more, .... and loops. I can reproduce the same problem on heavily multithreaded game, by only allocating 1 core to the said game. The FPS will stutter like crazy, because the GPU is too powerful and ask more than the CPU can do.
  15. As soon as my game reach a threshold in FPS, the CPU goes basically fubar and make the game stutter and drops frame like crazy ... It's probably the same problem that is causing VR to be unplayble. The CPU load is so much that it's causing crap stutter and frame drops like mad. I don't play this game anymore in 2D, but fixing the game to 100fps managed to get around the problem for 2D flat screen (not solving the issue, the issue is the game engine). We now have two limits in DCS : we can't reach high FPS because it's so mono-threaded that the CPU die, and when the CPU die because it has to render twice (VR) the game is basically perma fubar. Now would be a great time to push the improvement in multithread/multicore. It's starting to be more than urgent. The game keep consuming more and more and been broken in multithread, yet CPU have stopped been more and more performant in single thread and have switched to more core. (Okey time to time there is improvement in IPS but it will be less and less). A video captured showing the problem (00:26 mark - start of the problem) : It has been captured on 5950X and 3090. Hardly can do better.
  16. It's most likely a skybox texture, or some texture with not that great alpha ^^
  17. If you make a gradient, and use different type of coding (8bit, 10bit, 12bit etc.) you'll get more and more banding as the bits goes low. See an example here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colour_banding To sum up, it's probably an engine problem. Wouldn't surprise me, since the engine is old and is starting to be irrelevant on lots of things.

  20. That's what I said. ED should give us access to a file for configuring some settings (RDR, HMD, Radio, waypoints, ...), like it's possible with the CMS in a lua file.

  22. Still nothing ? This is kinda basic feature that is needed ... I don't need to setup my whole plane each time a spawn in one ... I should at least have the possibility to load what I have save from previous setup. The more feature you add to the plan, the more it become important to have it. The more feature, the more there is to configure each time. It's a pain. I'm not playing this game to switch from 2B to 4B, select range, chose angle of radar, setup my CMS program (and so on) each time I spawn in the plane.
