  1. I just started playing DCS again after a few years and ran into this issue as well. The daytime LLTV camera is pretty poor quality too now. It's "snowy" and hard to make out any objects.
  2. Ok, so since it can't be done a certain way then might as well quit.
  3. I agree. This isn't real life and people should stop bitching about it being real life. It's a game. Therefore, there shouldn't be a problem offering the option to be able to see the targets, even though it may not be "life-like."
  4. I truly don't understand why people are against having better visibility. Well I sort of do. They are in the realm of "F you, got mine." As in screw you because everything works for me. So screw what you want. It's an incredibly selfish point of view and I just don't understand how that processes in some people's brains. They're not asking to bring back whatever the old system was, but a better one that can be controlled in MP servers which I don't ever do. I'm single player only. Obviously this is an issue and I don't basically don't play because I can't see anything. All I like is ground pounders so this is a problem. I didn't know this was an issue for everyone and I posted a thread about this in the DCS 2.5 forum. It was deleted. Here is a fact: Many people (not all) have problems seeing targets and identifying them. People want a solution since it is frustrating. Why some people are rallying against this is beyond me because it wouldn't affect them whatsoever if it's optional. I just don't understand.
  5. There is probably a market out there for people who don't want to spend months learning how to fly a single plane. I started with Lock On: Modern Air Combat and I was perfectly happy with that. There has to be some people that want more of an entry level flight sim that isn't an arcade game.
  6. I'm not much of a full fidelity person. I played Lomac and liked the simplicity of it although I still find it complicated. I don't like studying for months on a single plane so the FC aircraft are more my style. I'd like to see a simplified helicopter like the AH-64 or something. That'd be fun.
  7. +1 I'm brand new (again) after a long time and am relearning the game from scratch. I'm only using FC3 right now and I can't see anything before I'm dead. I have full labels on but it's near impossible, at least for me, at this point to pick out a specific ground target. It makes me not want to play at all. I see you guys arguing technical points back and fourth so coming from someone new.... I just want to see my targets and I don't care how it's done. It's a problem that I am having and it's very frustrating.
  8. I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this. I'll up the frames on my cockpit to see if that helps. I really need to upgrade my computer as well so that might be a thing that will happen soon but I want to make sure this game is working properly before I drop $1,000.
  9. Well that's a start. :D
  10. Hey everyone. I'm coming back to DCS from a few years ago. I know this has probably been asked a million times and I'm sure I the answer is "get better" but I'm having a really hard time here. I'm using FC3 for the most part right now because everything is technically simpler. I'm practicing by just doing the instant mission for the A-10A where there is a group of tanks and I think just one Shilka. Here's my problem. I can't identify the targets. This seems a lot harder than it was when I played last for some reason. I turned on labels and everything and that doesn't seem to help a whole lot identifying individual targets. Sure, it helps me know the general area, but the area is flooded with labels stacking over each other and so of the tiny black specks that I see I can't make out which one is the Shilka that's going to kill me every time. Even when using the TV screen I can't tell what anything is. I just hit enter on a piece of ground and slew around until it locks onto a black speck. Are the model sizes smaller in previous versions? What am I doing wrong here besides just being bad? Is there anything I can do, mods, settings, anything so I don't suck as much?
  11. I'm having the same problem and posted in the Bugs forum. Downloaded correct version, definitely entering correct serial number.... nothing.
  12. Still having the problem. Even though it isn't the problem I had, I tried out the solution from EtherealN posted here with no luck. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=94531&highlight=invalid+hardware+code I submitted a ticket yesterday but haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully tomorrow I guess. Edit - Also joey, I am most definitely putting in the serial number. It's really hard to screw that one up.
  13. Same problem. Trying to get back into DCS stuff. I installed BS 1 and it accepted my serial. Installed 2 and got the error message. Going to have to submit a ticket I guess. Edit - Also I'm pretty sure I have the right version. I downloaded the upgrade version since that's what my cart says that I own.
  14. Yeah, I received an email yesterday saying: "Tomorrow a serial number will be added to your account." That was about 25 hours ago and it is now about 6:44pm in Moscow. I was kind of hoping to have it by today, but we'll see how it goes. Hang in there guys.
  15. Not sure if anyone has seen this (I didn't read all 11 pages of this thread), but I ran into this on thebattlesim.com. "Currently nine flyable aircraft (A-10A, F-15C, Su-27, MiG-29, MiG-29, Su-25, Su-25T, Su-33, Ka-50) with more under development (F-16, F/A-18 )." I'm assuming those will be the next two. :D
  16. Same here. However, this was a bit of an impulse buy (I'm poor hehe), so I may have not purchased it at all. Oh well, I'll just wait here with all of you guys. :music_whistling:
  17. Same issue here. I was hoping to get back into Lockon today since I have played it in quite some time. I hope this gets resolved soon.
