  1. Finally had time to try out mission 6 and I really like it. Probably my favorite so far. Can't help but being in awe of those Backfires when you get up close. And a true "Dance of the Vampires" moment when the missiles start flying. I think it has good potential for re-playability. Played it twice so far and definitely will again to try out different tactics. The range of the AS-4's poses a real challenge. Thanks for sharing it! Experienced two minor quirks, in case you ever want to revise/update the mission: In contrast to the previous missions, my wingman took a long time to start up the plane and didn't start taxiing until I was airborne. Not that he was of much use anyway, but at least a welcome distraction for the SAMs. It seems like the "Solex" name for the AWACS isn't supported that well by DCS. The radio messages didn't read out the name, but only the number. So the radio chatter was a little repetitive ("Enfield 1-1, 1-1, BRA, ...").
  2. By the way, I'm getting the strangest bug in the alternate version of mission 5. The CBU's aren't loading on the plane. I can see them in the mission planner, I can see them listed in the briefing, but they don't show up on the plane (and not on my wingman's plane either) and don't show up in the SMS/INV. When I open the mission in the editor, I can't load any other ordnance to 3/7, so it seems like it is the pylons that are bugged for me. I can create a new mission with the same loadout where everything works fine, so it's only in this specific mission.
  3. It works for me in the current Open Beta. The time-to-go field appears as soon as the aircraft starts moving and the INS knob is on NAV. Apparently the bug was fixed in one of the first patches of the Open Beta this year. https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/256977-time-to-go-line-missing-in-hud/
  4. Flew mission 3 to 5 and enjoyed them as well. My favorite was probably mission 3, where the narrow valley and the low cloud cover made it a good challenge to get some hits. Mission 5 offered some great views of the scenery down in the valley and I could also see the glare of the afterburners of the fighters high up in the clouds. Beautiful! The mission itself felt a little like a parade, since you basically just have to fly the route and don't really have to search for anything. Perhaps some added MANPADS or more aggressive Shilkas could spice things up. Alternatively, the WARPAC locations could be randomized, but that would probably not make much difference in a valley and would make more sense in a maritime reconnaissance mission. Thanks again for sharing these missions!
  5. Well done, I really like these missions. Thanks for creating and sharing them. My favorite era and a great choice of setting! So far I've flown mission 1 and 2 and I'm looking forward to flying the next ones. The dawn/dusk makes both missions very atmospheric and the first mission was a great chance to practice my (not so great) crosswind landing skills. I liked the transit time on the first mission - a good balance between realism/suspense and not having to fly across the entire map. A few suggestions that you may find helpful: In mission 1, it would be great with a small audio cue when the messages for visual inspection are being sent. Could be a simple radio squawk or even synthesized voice. When flying in VR those text boxes can be easy to miss if they just pop up silently. I love the short-form style of the briefings, but it would be helpful to mention that your flight/wingman operates on the preset VHF channel (same as Kobuleti). Perhaps also preload the AWACS frequency on the UHF band or mention in the briefing that it is preset at Comm 1 channel 2. In mission 2 there's no mention of the radio channels in the briefing. I figured that the AWACS was still on 251MHz, but it would be helpful to include that.
  6. Thanks for this. Just gave it a go. Evidently a lot of effort put into creating the mission. Incirlik is very atmospheric. I did encounter a slight problem that you might want to take a look at. I'll put it in a spoiler so as not to reveal anything about the mission:
  7. Had a blast over the last few days playing the "Falcon over Persian Gulf" campaign (version 20.38.00 on DCS 2.5.6.52196 Open Beta). Installation was a breeze and the campaign runs surprisingly well - even in VR. Well done! :joystick: A few observations that aren't exactly campaign breaking, but perhaps ideas for improvement: - In the Aircraft Order of Battle (oob_air_init.lua) there are active Hornet reserves (VMA 331), but no active Viper reserves (e.g., R/13 TFS). Is this perhaps a remnant of the Viper campaign being based on a Hornet campaign? - The Viper loadouts have the AIM-120s on pylons 2 and 8 and AIM-9s on the wingtip pylons 1 and 9. I believe the standard IRL loadout for the Viper (and also the standard DCS loadout) is to carry the AIM-120s on the wingtip pylons. - On a number of occasions the mission generator goes into a loop of not being able to create new missions because there are "not enough ready aircraft for all clients". On one occasion this even happened for the first mission in a new campaign with all aircraft available. I'm not entirely sure what is causing this, but perhaps some balancing tweaks to the Order of Battle could reduce the likelihood of this happening early on in the campaign.
  8. Joined the forums just to say thanks to MBot for creating DCE - and thanks to MBot, Miguel, CEF and everyone else for their hard work in making and maintaining the campaigns  The dynamic campaigns have rekindled my interest in DCS and bring back fond memories of my 1990s simulators. Thanks guys!
