I have a similiar graphics chip on my board (integrated) Hate to break it to you, but you can't really play Lock On with it. Not even sure it would start unless you went into the config and made it look like pong. Not aware of your financial situation, but a good vcard that would play LFC2 well would not be that expensive. Im with Aero on the 'clean' look. Weathered is not to my personal tastes, but if he has time to do them, more power to him. Strictly personal opinion, but weathering is artsy fartsy crap. Give me high poly models that are 'clean' and easy to view.

Thank you EtherealN sir ! Pretty happy with 50-60s avg in A10 pit now, 60-80s avg in F15 and that is with all 45 of my high res mods intact. Everything max except mirrors and water which I left at normal. Getting more and more impressed as I get set up. P.S. Wags, water under everything still blows. Massive frame killer. Please rectify in new engine. S~!

Well a fresh stock install yields slight increases in the F15 to 60-70s, A10 had a huge bump up to high 50s so it pretty clear that some mod or combo of mods was causing the problem. Where will I find 'mirrors' ? Can i turn water to low ?

Yes FC2 latest patch. Perhaps I will uninstall all mods and see whats up. A10 in particular was really bad with around 28fps on the deck. Maybe just got a bad install. Will redo once I find out how to activate/deactivate. Not fair to draw conclusions without it being stock. Just figured that a 4ghz quadcore and the newest vcard would be shredding this old title. Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate Amd 965 @ 4ghz water cooled 8 gb 1066 ram Nvidia Gtx 480 Creative Xifi Fatality Champion with front bay Logitech G940 Track Ir 5 21,500 Vantage score. Newest drivers ect ect .... Oh and for the record 25 fps on a track ir 5 is a bit of a slideshow.

I have a pretty good rig, yet I am getting same frames I got 3 years ago ??? I play at 1920x1200 all high, which admittedly is taxing, but my rig destroys other games. A10 brings my rig to its knees. And missile hit in F15 goes to 30s. cpu: Amd 965 @ 4ghz ram: 8 gigs 1066 vid: nvidia Gtx 480 xifi champion ect ect ... I know that this game was cpu limited/single core but have there been no optimizations in 3 years ???

AS your misrepresenting the case, most especially in regards to newcomers. One day this game is going to be on Steam. Newcomers are not going to get help quickly on Hyperlobby, because they wont have a clue what it is. Having servers that they won't be able to access will INCREASE confusion not decrease it. Most all of your points center on the real time communications capabilities of HL. I agree that real time comms are good. I disagree that separate server lists can be anything but a schism for multiplayer. Real time comms are under consideration. There are actually many games that support chat before joining a server. The ones I am aware of are mostly fps. Imho all that is needed is a very simplified Irc style client added to the current server browser that would allow each player to add 'channels' whether they be squadron/tournament/competiton/ or public chat. - Friends list (Tracked by guid key to stop aliasing) - Private message function - Ability to create semi permanent 'rooms' - Server sort order options After all this is basically what Hyperlobby is now. This is not hard to code for at all... most likely it a question of cost. Its been my experience that Russians hate to pay for bandwidth .... but even this argument can be overcome with renting a quite basic/inexpensive vps or using current dedicated hosting. It really won't have to do much so by definition it wont cost much. Heck if they are willing to add those small additions to the current server browser I will pay for it for the first year. All the benefits of the Lobby without any PROBLEMS of a common chat. Regardless of what the originators of the 'Important for the Lockon Community' thread write, I think all the Hyperlobby proponents are pissing into the wind. I don't envision ED splitting their multiplayer community after going to the trouble of coding Integrity Checks and a Server Browser. I only hope-expect it to be improved, and am actually confident that it will be. Its not that we don't like or respect what Jiri did for simming. It just that some of us are living in the year 2010 and ready to move on to a proper sim that has these functions as core.
