  1. Check this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=58715&highlight=g940+a10c+profile Some interesting information.
  2. Hi, I downloaded the DCS A-10C Beta 3 as the installer, does this mean I still have to download and install the BETA 2 patch over top? Or is the BETA 3 install good to go? Thanks for the help, Just a little miffed over what to do! (BTW, will be buying the activation key at 4am tomorrow morning, just downloaded the files early so I can start mapping the G940 buttons :pilotfly: ) EDIT: Actually, I see that there is already a BETA 3 patch, so I guess when I downloaded the BETA 3 version of the game I am already up to date therefor I should not have started this thread! Sorry Mods, please delete if you can~~
  3. I, too would like a profile for the G940, however I may just make my own seeing as a search so far hasn't produced any results. Julle, you could do what I plan to do and go through the key commands and manually assign them to the stick in profile manager. Time consuming, I know but hey..
  4. Second the Apache, in fact I thought it was already on the "list" after the warthog??!? Like the A version where they could make a realistic sim without giving away classified info...~~
  5. As someone else eloquently put it: Think of the shark not as a flying tank, but as a flying sniper. What killed me early on was taking too long to break off an attack run, where I simply came to close to the enemy trying to get a hit that the AA tore me to shreds. It helps to really get your mind into the situation and consider that if you die, you really are dead - and then review your tactics from there. Good Luck!
  6. Very good flying! Naice!
  7. What is this? I have a g940 and would also like a patch.
  8. Hi Innerloop, Yes I saw those early WIP pics of the Apache build also. It seems, if this is true, they will be modeling an earlier version of the Apache perhaps to allow a high fidelity sim without compromising current secret tech specs?? but only guessing :)
  9. (Apache ???) Pure speculation of course :)
  10. Wow, that is awesome stuff right there, Bucic! Thanks!
  11. Bucic - Are you saying that IRL helo pilots don't engage each other? (I mean, relative to the KA50) Could you give more info about RL Helo vs Helo policies? Any AA threat in BS really boils down to a matter of luck in detecting and targeting them in the Shvkal. and it is really luck when you are moving the shvkal with the hat on the joystick. Even then the Hinds and Apaches still have the advantage. Could really use another strategy for those engagements, as it seems to be a 50/50 outcome. However Gauntlet is an awesome mission and I have made it to WP 3 with re armed wingmen, however even when hiding from the apaches during their first patrol they warm up and come back soon enough. Might be worth finding their farps and making a couple of special trips..?
  12. Hi, Furthest I have gotten was just past stage 2, still with all wingmen however had run out of ammo and went to the farp to try reload, cant remember if it actually reloaded for me or not (might have had trouble with the farp being unmanned??!?!) but before I could take off the next lot of air to air vehicles got me. (not spoiling what they are) Im still learning good combat maneuvers so can't be of any real help to you soz.
  13. Might have been said before, but subtle low frequency vibrations in cockpit would add a lot of immersion to the sim - Check out the Payware B206 for X-Plane for the kind of effect Im talking about. Ever flown in a heli that didnt shake 100% of the time?
  14. Power5, I have it pointed at simulator.exe and I launch the game from modman.
  15. Unfortunately, I tried those settings with non satisfactory results. Not to say I am unhappy with the G940 - it performs very well in my book, however logitech could hurry the **** up with their improvements!
  16. Hey - if you want a challenge try this modified .acf file for the Hughes 500d - it wasnt sensitive enough for me as standard and I have evened out the yaw pedals so you actually have to input left pedal with torque inputs as well as modified the collective and cyclic pitch range to better reflect my imagined H500D flight model. Either way, Im happy with the changes made - and Im a real purist at heart! Just back up the origonal .acf file and chuck this one in the H500D folder to try it out. Hughes_500D.zip
  17. Hi Guys, I havent read the entire thread yet but I thought Id share a setup that I am happy with as it seems to have the best of both worlds (force trim and force neutralization) as using the force trim release is very inaccurate for me, regardless of the settings I use. The way I have set it up is so that as I go through an attitude change, I force trim while still flying the helicopter to get the trim in roughly the right place (as its pretty sloppy) then I use the joystick's D-Pad to make fine adjustments to hold the stick exactly. I have had a few hours in a Hughes 300 and that is the way the trimmer works on those helis so I dont feel like Im making a HUGE compromise of authenticity considering the current limitations of this hardware. Specific game settings in the Profiler are: Overall: 110% Centering: 50% Damper: 150% And the sensitivity on both x and y axis' are 75% I have set up the joystick's D-Pad to represent the arrow keys (as you will notice that while trimmed if you push the arrow keys the joystick will physically move in that direction) So now flying has become a lot easier, and it has the added bonus of being able to make trim adjustments without throwing out the rudder/yaw pedals! (provided when you make the initial force trim you have the rudder pedals in neutral - OR you could activate force trim release to center all trims and trim the stick from scratch using the d-pad/arrow keys) The only issue I have with this setup is that I still dont have a Track-IR so I have made it so the d-pad arrow/trim assignments are active when i hold down the shift button - which means I can still use the D-Pad for looking around the cockpit. I know this is a compromise but until Logitech have the issue sorted its a work around! (another issue I would like addressed *MARK* is to be able to tune the sticks default centering force as when playing X-Plane the stick has to be unplugged due to the massive effort required to move it. The only work around I can do is to start up Black Shark before hand, activate force trim release to center the stick and then quit and play xplane as the last trimmed position + my assigned 50% centering force stays applied after quitting Black Shark.) HTH!
  18. Yes I second the rudder trim annoyance - and also someone posted earlier in this thread how they could feel through the stick rolling on taxiways and other stuff - I guess in retrospect he was being sarcastic at the limited features employed with the G940 for such a "state of the art" system... I wouldn't expect to feel flight forces through the FFB due to the way the control system is implemented in the real heli, just kinda hoped we could feel the environmental effects such as the fuselage vibrating from the canon etc. A guy can dream haha EDIT: actually, why is there a "shaker force" setting in the DCS FFB settings menu?
  19. Hey Guys, Sorry to repeat the question, but in FFB is there supposed to be special effects for example effects from rolling over the ground or firing the canon/receiving hits etc?
  20. Personally I find X-Plane to be very accurate depending on the helicopter. The latest and greatest is the Bell 206 III payware heli (find it at x-plane.org), which puts the FSX Dodosim to shame - really when you feel the dynamics of this helicopter you will understand. Another personal favorite for accuracy is the freeware Robinson R22 V2 - and of course Bretts Hughes 500 is very well done (although I have modified it slightly to be more sensitive). Learning to hover in the sim is very difficult, especially when considering the lack of situational awareness and spacial perception - as liotczik said sticking to the runway and taxiway will give you greater visual references for hovering, but there is a special satisfaction to be had from getting a perfect approach to a 1 foot hover and watching it in instant replay over and over :) Note that X-Plane does exaggerate the transition in and out of translational lift, but you kinda get used to it... My opinion of Microsoft Flight Sim is that it is rubbish if you are after any sort of accuracy, and even with the dodosim I have no satisfaction from flying - and I have tried because I do love the scenery! ...Even trying to kid myself about AVCS in the EH101 haha..
  21. Hello all! Wow I kinda have to agree that Logitech really dropped the ball on this one, however luckily my problems are minor - For me the stick trims fine, and I can adjust the spring tension in the profiler (and even the mini joystick up top works!) but I am not getting any FFB effects from environmental factors such as landing or firing the canon/ receiving hits etc. I checked the producer.cfg and FFB is enabled, however I am using the profiler to assign button functions except for the actual cyclic, collective and yaw axis' which I set up in the sim. Is this a common issue? And to the poster above, I experience the same issue with yaw input right after setting the trim, I just either make sure to compensate by moving them a little past the opposite center quickly after trim, or try have the pedals in the neutral position when trimming. One more thing, what is the difference between the central trimming mode and normal? Regards!
