Is it possible to change the forum layout back? I absolutely hate it, it doesnt present any relevant information unlike the old layout. Disappointed.

Addon Tents, Watchtower, UH-1-Cargo

Just FWIW I have not been able to get flexcam, worker(?) and some other objects working in this pack, have taken a couple of deep dives into the .lua's, mod files etc but haven't been able to figure it out. -
You also have translating tendency, where you have to apply lateral cyclic to compensate for the lateral thrust generated by the tail rotor. Thats why they generally hover with one skid low, depending on the rotation direction of the main rotor. For example in a clockwise rotating main rotor, the tail produces thrust to the right of the helicopter to compensate so it will hover with the right skid low... hth

Removable Doors please! Also Troops inside :) Thats my wishlist

Well there is LTE - Loss of tail rotor effectiveness. The other thing to consider when decelerating out of translation in a tail wind you can misjudge your power requirements as your airspeed drops to zero while you still have positive ground speed. Add in a descent and you can find yourself experiencing a rapid change in power requirements to arrest descent. it can be very deceptive. It's much safer to decelerate into the wind, where you still have positive airspeed during all phases of flight. HTH

Hey rato65, I think its AI only, Hawkeye60 is working on fixing a flyable version here. -

Awesome to have this mod pack back! Im having trouble installing the flexcam, watertank, powerline worker etc. I have made sure that their respective folders are installed in game dir/mods/tech as well as the savedgames dir but they aren't showing? Also, sar rescuer textures arent working and some of the cargo textures. Have extracted the textures .zip and modded the entry .lua to point to the textures folder. Thanks! -
Awesome cheers mate!

Are you flying balanced? As in the ball is in the middle? That could explain it.. HTH

Idea for DIY Collective brake (maybe dangerous)

Thanks Holton181, great ideas. I hadn't thought of using the magnet to release pressure! -
[REQUESTED]Request For Huey Upgrade (No Doors)

Umm, has anyone tried removing the doors texture? Doesn't DCS default to a weird green camo patern when there's a missing texture? -
Nice! Trying that out with some other helipad mods.

Great point! You really have to fly in VR to get any idea of what it is like to fly IRL helicopter! Your spatial awareness and visual references are too limited with a 2D monitor.

Hello, I just realized that most toasters use an electromagnet to hold the toast down while it cooks, IN THEORY you could use an electro magnet to hold a DIY collective in a certain position until you press the collective brake and move it like in the RL KA-50. I have seen electromagnets used to great effect in DIY cyclic trim systems, see HERE It would be simple to implement by mounting it to a collective stick and having a fixed metal rail adjacent for it to magnetize to. It would be a simple always on until you press a button situation, with the whole thing being able to be turned off to use the collective with other helicopter types that don't feature a collective brake. You could maybe somehow use the same button as an input (for example using MMJOY and an arduino) thats assigned to the collective brake. I don't know what voltage these things run at so it could be potentially dangerous if you don't know how to work with wall power!! Anyway, just an idea that interests me, I think I will start making one. Ben

I would love to be able to remove the doors!
