  1. Updated to version 2.0! -Less transparency. -Better haze effect at far. -Better color transition around the clock. I changed the color handling logic considerably. I hope you like it more. Moderators, please change the thread title again to "Tree Shader Mod 2.0". Thanks in advance!
  2. Looks like I'm going to update this mod soon. Sorry for the frequent updates.:lookaround: Kuky, I think you will like the next version. The colors will be blended into the background much better.
  3. ModMan doesn't run in certain language setups of Windows. You can change the Control Panel's 'Regional and Language Options' to English and run ModMan properly. Then go back to your own language again when finished. Edit: Kill the process first if you already have one.
  4. The visible range is 15000 and AF is 8X. But these are only for the advertisement shot.:music_whistling: I use much lower settings for actual flying. The season can be the reason of the nice look. It's spring.
  5. Moderators, thank you for changing the thread title. Now people can see the update. I don't know. I found "objects" was connected with the labels before. But, "dynamic", "mirage", "lights"...there are many mysteries yet. Colt, thanks for the pictures. I think the Lock On scenery with improved trees is much better than IL-2 or FSX. Here is the original screenshot used for the mod logo.
  6. Updated to version 1.1! DOWNLOAD Night tree colors are corrected from pitch black to natural faint color. Moderators, could you correct the thread title to "Tree Shader Mod 1.1" so that everyone who already got version 1.0 can notice the update?
  7. Important ! I will update the mod very soon! Please wait a little while.
  8. The graphics.cfg editing is optional. But the config tweaks can improve your visuals and performance if you do them correctly. Read and understand the descriptions before you do the editing. And ModMan handles the .exe files. You should not touch those files. Thanks for your interests to my mods.
  9. No, it's OK. I don't mind. The feedbacks are welcome always. The part of the reason why trees stand out is the colors of the tree textures. They are very different from the ground textures. I was making new tree textures which match more naturally to the ground. I think I will go ahead and finish that project soon. This should be the fix for your problem.
  10. Then you can decrease the trees visible distance. Try 10000. Also you can improve the blury ground by changing the LandLod in Config\graphics.cfg.
  11. No, not at all. Please read carefully the details page.:smartass:
  12. Click the link in the first post:)
  13. Updated to version 2.0! For Lock On 1.02 and 1.1x. DOWNLOAD and DETAILS Load this up and have some cross-country flights! (And show me some nice screenshots if you can.:smilewink:)
  14. This is the online dictionary I used for the English cockpit project. http://www.freedict.com/onldict/rus.html I also used Babel Fish. http://babel.altavista.com/
  15. No, not yet. This mod will be ready in this weekend or next, I guess. Here is another shot from the early test. (Sorry for the size.)
  16. My July announcement; This is a shot from what I'm working on right now. You will get this without any performance loss. Are you interested?
  17. I think the problem is based on the wrong selection of the mipmap levels. See these pictures. I made a test cloud texture each mipmap level has different color and I got these colored bars. The mipmap levels should be selected based on the surface size and angle on the screen. But the above pictures tell they are not now. I think the current angle equation has some mistakes. The current calculation returns correct answers only when the camera roll against the terrain is zero. Even a slight roll offset from zero is causing the problem. Because this happens only on the cloud shadows, the cause of the problem must be in the LockOn side of the codes of the shaders. If this was the video driver or DirectX issue, we should have same type of problems everywhere.
  18. I can not confirm because my video card is ATI, but I don't think this solves the dark aircraft surface problem.
  19. Dedicated to ruggbutt and who hates the shimmering shadows. for LockOn 1.1x and 1.0x, LoMan 2.1 and ModMan compatible. Available at my site This mod removes the cloud shadows to solve the shimmering shadow problem. I know this is not the best solution to the problem, but now you have a choice at least; Shimmering shadows or No cloud shadows. It's normal "Structure Lights Mod" is stated as "Not installed" when this mod is installed.
  20. I added version 1.0b for 2X or No Anisotropic Filtering. The fade out distance is still a little close for No AF. I recommend AF enabled.
  21. Ahh I see. I have the same problem. I will look into it, but please do not expect any solutions from me.:ermm:
  22. The original distances were chaos and spread out to the various distances. No certain rules were there. So I brought in the new order. I think there are 3 (or more) values related to determine each distance . All models have certain visibility values "A1,A2,A3...", \Bazar\structtable.sht (which I modified) holds another visibility values "B1,B2,B3..." and \Config\graphics.cfg (which you can edit) has a value "C" which alters all models visibility all together. The final visible distance of each model will be multiplications of all 3 values; AX*BX*C. Looks like there are also some exceptional rules which I'm not sure yet. Anyway you can alter all models visible distances all together by changing the coefficient "C". For example, if you increase it from 40 to 50 (25% up), the visible distances will be 25% farther. Does this explanation make sense?
  23. Thanks to all of you for the kind words. PythonOne, My mod interferes with the hot summer mod a little bit. No serious problem but some texture differences. I will look into it and see what I can do. ruggbutt, I don't get what you mean. Any screenshot?
  24. For Lock On 1.1x Use ModMan to install. Available at my site. New coastline textures fade out at far range and no strange color effects appear any more. The textures look same as before at close range. EDIT: The fade out distance depends on the Anisotropic Filtering setup of the video card. I adjusted version 1.0 at 4X. The distance could be too close for no or lower AF setup. EDIT: Version 1.0b is added for 2X or No Anisotropic Filtering.
