Looking to get one of these. I am wondering for mounting of the camera, does it more or less have to be aligned with your head for it to properly track? If I were to mount it on top of my monitor the camera would sit above my head. Or will the "puck" still be able to track it fine? My other questions would be which is generally preferred, the round Puck or the rectangle Odyssey for mounting to headsets?

I do believe I have easy comms on. I am using the in game menu via F12, which I believe is easy comms. I am not actually playing around with the radio in the planes themselves.

Updated yesterday before launching, so it should be the latest version as of yesterday. I can get up to that, but the option to request landing does not become available. Looking at the carrier in external views they do not raise the arresting cables either. Tried it in the F-18 and it still does not seem to give me the option either.

Trying to land on the Stennis. I cannot find an option to Request Landing like I could in the past. Typically it was Request Inbound, Request Azimuth, Request Landing. I cannot get Request Landing to pop up anymore. Was there a change in the process? Trying with DCS F-14, I know it worked with DCS F-18 in the past.

Been thinking of getting one of these. Wondering if there is any practical difference between the Odyssey vs Puck models. I typically sit around 35-38 inches away from my monitor. I assume the 60 Hz version will be fine? My other questions is would a window (not directly to outside) cause tracking problems? In terms of software and set up does it require any software running continuously while in use?

It does not say multi threaded preview. How do I enable that? I know DLSS used to work prior to the new launcher being released. Okay figured out the solution. Go to: Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin-mt Find the DCS.exe. Create a new shortcut. That seems to fix it and launch correctly. Even when using the new launcher, it will still launch into the MT version. Not sure why they defaulted it to ST with the update. Was wondering why my frame rate fell by 50% or so.

Seems like the DLSS option no longer works for me since the update with the new launcher. It is greyed out in the settings menu. Is there any work around for this? Performance in VR is too low to use without it for my PC. In the launcher itself, it shows DLSS is working, but there appears to be no anti aliasing in game and the performance itself is quite bad, which makes me think DLSS is not working at all. When accessing the graphics menu in game it is greyed out, irrespective of what the launcher settings menu shows.

I am getting a lot of crashing. Su-25T thermal targetting pod does not work either. DLSS does not work. Essentially, nothing works in our stupid $48-80 planes. -
Thanks, I figured it out. I believe it was "CNM Neutral / PCA Select Neutral" <-- This might be incorrect, but it was something along those lines. And then "Stores 2 SELECT".

Seems like they changed the key bindings so I am trying to re-program everything. The one thing I am having great difficulty is programming how to select the R 530. Guns and Magics are easy to program. I can click it with the mouse and it generally works, though I want to program it to my HOTAS. The button is called "Weapons Selector 2" though there is no exact function in the key bindings. There are two similar named functions like Stores Select 2 and PCA Select 2, but neither of those will select the R 530. Example of the button's name in game: So what do I have to do to map "Weapons Selector 2" to my HOTAS?

Using the AGM-65D and AGM-65G in the F-16 and F-18, and I noticed it is almost impossible to spot the Maxx Pros. They are essentially invisible. To be visible I need to get roughly within .3 miles, but that time you have to pull up or you will crash. If you try and fly level it will be impossible to spot them as it will be out of the seeker's visibility/seeker limit. I had placed a number of them in a convoy, around 8 or so, and they are impossible to spot although other similar sized vehicle will show up fine, like hummers. Also, is the Su-25T thermal vision pod ( cannot recall the name) no longer working? No matter the map or time, when using it the screen is essentially whited out and illegible. I preferred using that to the standard black/white internal optical TV in the Su-25T but it seems like it no longer works.

Is there a mod that allows the F-5E-3 for FC 2024 to carry four AIM-9s? The specific F-5E modeled in DCS can only carry two, but it seems like a few countries went ahead and installed the necessary equipment to carry four. As such I am interested in a mod that would allow me to carry four. Don't care about multiplayer as I never play it, so will be using it offline.

I would prefer if they just made more simplified planes in DCS. They can co-exist, much like we can have WWII planes present on modern day maps, flying around modern day structures with modern day F-16s flying around. It would be excellent for planes that are too classified to do at the full fidelity. Things like an F/A-18E, Su-27SM2 and whatnot. These are things that will never become a full fidelity module anytime soon, if ever. A 3rd party can even specialize in these modern, realistic flight model but simplified avionics planes. People can still buy their MIG-19s, WWII planes and the very handful of modern planes that come out in full fidelity. I would of course like to use these modules alongside my F-16C, F/A-18C, J-11, F-15C, etc. so putting them in a new game would be pointless. It would just mean duplicating SSD space to reuse the same content like maps and whatnot. As for multiplayer, from the sound of things DCS is not that big on multiplayer. But you can always make missions without them. As is, you can't make a mission for the F-16C and then have players fly P-51s. They'll get blown out of the sky with AIM-120s and SAMs. Yet, it still works out and people just play them in different missions.

Recently made a purchase and added a discount code during the checkout process. Code is "Growling". I get the message "coupon active and valid", though it seems like the discount did not reduce the price? I have attached a screen shot showing the cart and the message that the coupon was valid and applying.

For me it was straight forward, I had an option to apply ED Miles in the cart. As I had enough Miles it covered the entire purchase. I checked out and got my module added to my account within a few minutes. Did not even have to enter payment info like credit card or PayPal.

I get the issue, however I purchased FC 2024 upgrade and I can play the F-5, F-86 and MIG-15. I get a notification to install FC3 though it is already installed. Have not tried the older FC3 planes yet. -
One small issue. When assigning functions with my HOTAS, Saitek X52 Pro on the new FC 2024 aircraft, occasionally when I press a button it will not assign the function. I click cancel, re-open the control assignments settings menu and that will fix the issue and I can continue with assigning functions. F-5E is nice. Easy to fly, a bit under powered though that is expected. I wish we could get a variant that could carry more AIM-9s and the AGM-65s. Maybe something they will look into in the future?

Thanks. So the F1M will be the most modern variant. Any rough idea on when that one is releasing? And is there any chance they will make something like the F1EQ at a later date?

If you purchase the Mirage F1 module, is the Mirage F1ED flyable? If I recall this is the one with Kh-29s. If I have my variant mixed up, are there other flyable F1 variants included that can use the Kh-29?

This seems to be an issue for me as well. This thread is already a few months since the last reply. My AIM-9X accuracy is extremely low, even if I keep my head looking at the target. The F-16C, F-14 (without HMD) with AIM-9M is more accurate. The F-16 with HMD and AIM-9X is not even comparable, night and day. Almost like two entirely different weapons.

I am not sure if I am uncaging it, but it does launch and track fine. Just that it does not seem to slave to the radar locked target all the time. Other times it seems to work very much like the F-15C's dogfight mode, where the lock slaves the AIM-9 to the target. Only quirk I really don't like for air to air is that you need to load the cannon, and finding a good button on my HOTAS to bind it to. Aside from using the button in the MFCD, is a way to bind the gun loading? I have it bound to the MFCD button but if I switch pages then that function won't load the gun.
