  1. Thank you for making a freeware addon. I will be looking forward to flying it some day.
  2. I still think the price is a bit steep. $20 and I'll probably get FC3. $40 if all the aircraft had updated cockpits and damage models.
  3. Yes but when on sale. IMO the $40 price tag is too steep for a new F-15 3D model, cockpit, and some other small changes. Had all the other aircraft been given the same treatment the F-15 has gotten then I would buy it on day one. I am also annoyed that I have to upgrade Black Shark as from my understanding there where no changes from BS1 to BS2 for the actual aircraft.
  4. I figured out how to get the modifiers to work. Though now my issue is that I have to run the Saitek Control Panel maximized in order for the modifiers/switches to do anything. I don't like running around program in the background, especially when playing a demanding game. I also don't like having to run programs before loading a game. If anyone can figure out how to use modifiers/switches without leaving the Saitek Control Panel maximized let me know.
  5. I put my Steam CD key into world and it works fine. I never even installed it from Steam. I just installed World, got the A-10 module and plugged the CD key in when launching a mission.
  6. I would hope the 3rd party addons (or any Eagle Dynamics addon for that matter) are for aircraft/other vehicles only. It would be a pain trying to play the game with others if they don't own map X, AI unit pack Y, ground textures P, weapon pack M and so on. IMO things like this should be centralized to keep comparability and ease of installation standardized. Aircraft, extra aircraft skins and similar would be fine and I would pay for those. Though I myself am looking forward to a new map. Set in the middle east would be a nice change of terrian.
  7. I am trying to set modifiers in FC2 (in game options, not STT) with my X52Pro though I am having difficulty trying to get them to work. * I will refer to buttons from their respective number/name as found in the Saitek X52Pro control panel. Currently I have POV2 (upper left hat switch) set to pivot my target designator on the radar screen for the Su-27. I would like to add a modifier that I can hold down which will change the scan range (Display Zoom, - and = on the keyboard). I would like the modifier button to be either Button 16 or 31 on the throttle. In the FC2 options menu, I click the Modifiers tab, click Add, and scroll down until I find Button 16 or 31. I got to Display Zoom and add a modifier of either Button 16 or 31 and then press POV 2 up, down, right, left ect. I go in game, hold down button 16 or 31 and use the POV 2 hatch switch to try out their modified function of increasing/decreasing Display Zoom. However, holding down the modifier button 16 or 31 has no affect whatsoever. Both buttons are indeed working according to the Saitek Control Panel. What am I doing wrong? Edit: Looks like they work, though I must have the Saitek Control Panel maximized in the background (can't be minimized on the task bar tray). I find this very awkward. Is there any work around for this? I don't like running programs/windows maximized when playing games.
  8. Hello, I am thinking of getting A-10C on Steam. I am wondering if the Steam version will activate in DCS World? Does the Steam version of A-10C come with a CD key that I can use to download on ED's website and use in World? And I might as well ask another question while I am making a new thread: Will I be able to install DCS World (with the same A-10C/BS2/whatever) CD keys on two PCs and play them on LAN at the same time?
  9. Must be fake, those are Cs on the cover.
  10. Hello, I am thinking of buying DCS: A-10 as it is on sale currently. Though I am wondering if I can add my A-10 CD key into DCS: World when it is released to avoid having to buy the aircraft twice. And since I am asking, will Black Shark 1's (Steam) license work with World? Or will I have to repurchase that in world?
  11. I am wondering why my X-52Pro can not assign certain functions in Lock On F2 anymore. For example, the weapon/launch button is not assignable for the F-15/A-10, and the sensors/laser ranger for the Su-25T suffers the same issue. I try creating a new profile but it no longer works. Here is a screen shot of certain functions being blanked out: I am running Win 7 64bit. Are there any fixes for this bug?
  12. That does not seem to work. Setting an axis never does anything in FC2/BS1 for me. Where can I found the mouse control and cockpit panning view? And what is the difference between KA-50 real and KA-50 game? Both sub menus have similar menus within them and often times the same commands. For example, I want the center silver button on the stick to pan my view inside of my cockpit (and outside), and I would like the knob/button on my throttle with the mouse picture to control my mouse input (to click on things in the cockpit). This way I can eliminate the need to use a keyboard for looking around. It was like this by default but looking through the options must have switched everything up. All I can say is that ED needs to make their control selection menu more like RoF. Edit: If I can not get basic functions like panning on the joystick done in this game then I'll return it. It is simply nonsense that ED can not get such simple functions working. I'd rather pour money into RoF as at least they can get their control input menu to function like it should. Spending hours just to get basic functions means there is a huge flaw with the program.
  13. Does anyone have a profile for the X52Pro? I would prefer an in game/options menu profile that I can import rather than Saiteks software profile (which never works). This is for BS1. Alternatively if anyone can tell me how to set the collective in game I would appreciate it. Lock On FC2 and BS1 don't seem to be able to set axis in game (though WIngs of Prey and CloD can).
  14. I ended up getting DCS 1 from Steam. Hopefully it works fine with Steam.
  15. Thanks for the reply. At this time I was not intending of getting BS2, so I am thinking of waiting for a sale on ED's site in which I can get BS2 as that will be cheaper for me in the end.
  16. Thank you. I will buy the game sometime today. :) Also, does the Steam version of the game use the same limited activation DRM?
  17. I am thinking of buying DCS Black Shark on Steam as it is on sale. I am wondering if I can use my Steam CD key to download the game from ED's website and forgo the use of Steam for running the game? And does the BS install merge with my FC2 install?
  18. Sadly it looks like your PC is too slow to run it very nicely. On the bright side, even I can not max the game out without stutters on Vista/Win7 64bit, AMD 965, GTX 260, and 8GB of DDR2 RAM. Certain areas in the map cause serve frame rate drops no matter what. Sadly the game (or engine) is just not optimized that well.
  19. I figured out part of the issue. Apparently the MIG-21 mod creates an "F-16" folder in your config folder. Uninstalling it through modman and then uninstalling the game won't delete it, so it has to be done manually. Now I can save option settings. But all issues are not gone. Now the next part of the issue is that I can no longer assign the "Weapon Release" button (F-15C, A-10A) on my X52Pro in the game options. Would you happen to have any idea what this might be caused by? And will a 2nd install on a single PC use another activation?
  20. Not on start up. The only time I see this is when I try to save changes made in the options. I tried to import new profiles, but when it comes time to save and exit the error message pops up. I did install the MIG-21 mod previously, but I uninstalled that with Modman and then uninstalled the entire game before reinstalling fresh. So I doubt that can be the issue.
  21. Here is a screen shot of an error I get when trying to modify any key binding: If I click ok in the menu to save the settings it will freeze, the error will pop up. If I click ok, the error message will go away. I can click "ok" in the menu again but the same error message will pop up. I can click cancel, however none of the changes will save. So I can essentially no longer assign functions to a keyboard, joystick or mouse.
  22. I'll try this eventually. I tried setting it for all aircraft, view, ect. I set it to "g" on my keyboard, as well as a button on my X52Pro and Sidewinder 2. No luck so far...
  23. Can no longer unpause/start missions I have recently got an interesting bug in FC2. I can no longer start a mission because hitting the "pause" button no longer unpauses the game (this was the default key). This means I can not start a mission/play the game. I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the game but the issue still persists. I have looked in the options of the game and "Pause" is set to my pause/break key like it always has. To test out my keyboard key, I set FRAPs to record videos when I press the pause key and it works... so my keyboard is not at fault. Clearing the button and reassigning it does nothing either. What can I do to fix this issue?
  24. That did not work. Remapping does nothing. I am left with an unplayable game as of now. ED, either release a patch to fix this issue, give me a new CD key/DVD/download, or give me $22 USD. This is unacceptable. I won't be buying the DCS titles like I planned on either. Not until this bug is fixed.
  25. I'll have to try clearing it an remapping the button. Otherwise the only input devices I can think of is my house an X52Pro.
