PFM for the Su-27 has been confirmed months ago (actually a year +?). The MiG-29 and Su-33 are the unconfirmed aircraft. The MIG-29 will get a new cockpit/3D model but we don't know if it will get a new FM.

Editor: Do not limit units to certain nations only
Flogger23m replied to lanmancz's topic in DCS Wishlist
I have a similar, although (IMO) better ideas: 1) Add two fictional nations which have all units. This way we can have one for each team (by default). Obviously, the mission designer does not have to utilize them. Name them "MISC Country 1" and "MISC Country 2". For skins, use the real country skins. Perhaps making all country skins available would be ideal. 2) Remove random units from real countries (Canadian KA-50s, ect.) to make it less confusing when it comes time to make authentic missions. 3) Add the ability to change coalitions at a later time in the mission editing process. This was possible pre-FC2 but it was removed in later versions of the editor. -

Since World is Free, is multiplayer free?
Flogger23m replied to Soulres's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
To be clear you can play World online without paying for anything. I have played with friends who owned nothing. They used the Su-25T. -
If you still have it I will take it. :)

Thanks for the reply. So I search for the CD key, hit the unbind key, and then send it to someone else. How would the other person activate the key then?
-
As the title says, how would one gift someone a module/CD key from the E-shop? As I understand it, buying a module from the E-shop automatically ties that CD key to your account. Is there a way I can gift a module to someone without activating it on my account?
-
This. Buy at full price to support them. It is a niche genre. If you have little money to spend like myself, wait for sales. It is sad to see people dump $200+ on a Star Citizen ship but at the same time see people upset about the relative low cost of a DCS module.

On the topic of Combined Arms, what is the list of fully crew-able vehicles? I assume most of the current ones are controllable.
-
So I had Combined Arms in my cart for $6, went afk for a bit and now it went back up to $8. What is going on?
-
Great deal. Now what should I pick up with limited funds?
-
Maybe, but this is marketed as a flight simulator. The abilities of the BMP-2 to shoot down maneuvering Su-27s with minimal effort is not realistic and has no place in a so called simulator. If 1960s era IFVs were this good at taking down aircraft in the real world the Shilka and similar units would never have been invented. ;) Ignoring simulator aspects, even as a game, the BMP's ability to shoot down aircraft is absurd compared to dedicated AA weapons. It out ranges the A-10's 30mm as well as any unguided rockets/bombs. Which essentially makes some of the flyable aircraft near worthless from a gameplay perspective.
-
BMPs kill aircraft far too easily Anyone else notice that for a while (last few versions) ground vehicles, in particular the BMP-2/3, are obscenely effective against fixed wing aircraft? I have a considerably more difficult time taking out a BMP in an A-10 or Su-25 than I do for a Vulcan, Shilka or SA-9/13. Gun/rocket runs are essentially suicidal if there is more than more BMP-2/3 in the area. They are extremely accurate and can shoot at a further effective range than the A-10 can when not using AGM-65s. Even when flying a faster aircraft like the Su-27 or MiG-29 I get shot down from BMPs and not dedicated AA guns. While I am sure a BMP/AFV can target and engage a low flying helicopter I find it hard to believe they are so effective against attack aircraft. I hope with 2.0 there will be some adjustments as I have written off playing the game in a ground attack role until it is fixed. With luck, air to air missiles won't be botched in 2.0 so I can enjoy the new flight model for the Su-27.

how to purchase a moduel for a friend?
Flogger23m replied to 71st_Mastiff's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Flogger23m  Though keep in mind if they have other modules on Steam you will need to buy it via Steam (if they want all modules in a single installer) and use Steam's gifting system. -
Quick question. My email lists most products at 70% discount, yet the E-Shop shows 60% only. I was thinking of getting Combined Arms at $6, but at $8 I would rather pass and save up for other modules. Here are the prices listed in my email newsletter: From September 4th to September 16th, we will be running our Autumn DCS Sale. We hope you will use these great deals to fill out your stable of DCS modules. DCS: Flaming Cliffs 3: $39.99 to $11.99 (70% off) DCS: A-10C Warthog: $39.99 to $11.99 (70% off) DCS: Black Shark 2: $39.99 to $11.99 (70% off) DCS: Combined Arms: $19.99 to $5.99 (70% off) DCS: UH-1H Huey: $49.99 to $14.99 (70% off) DCS: P-51D Mustang: $29.99 to $11.99 (60% off) DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight: 49.99 to $24.99 (50% off) F-15C for DCS World: $9.99 to $4.99 (50% off) A-10A for DCS World: $9.99 to $4.99 (50% off) Su-25 for DCS World: $9.99 to $4.99 (50% off) DCS: F-86F Sabre: $49.99 to $39.99 (20% off) DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora: $49.99 to $39.99 (20% off) Buy now from the DCS E-Shop Also excited to see so many releases coming soon.

Your PC is rather slow. In particular, the CPU. Currently DCS is more CPU based, although moving to a faster GPU can help to. AMD GPUs also do not run very well with DCS at the moment. The only way to solve your issues is to upgrade your PC. I would hold out and see how DCS runs once the DCS EDGE engine gets released. By then the next generation of graphics cards will be out.

so how many planes can the multiplayer support?
Flogger23m replied to Flyby's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I've had a lot of issues with lag when playing with only 4-5 people online with recent builds. FC2/Blackshark 1 online was much more stable in my experience. -

Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?

What would be the best opponent for the MiG-21bis?
Flogger23m replied to Zakatak's topic in Heatblur Simulations
F-5E and Mirage 3. The MIG-21Bis was designed to compete with the F-5E and has a similar weapons load (WVR only missiles), both have extremely short range radars, similar payload sizes and whatnot. The F-4, MiG-23 and Mirage F1 are in a competing class. Even if the F-4 is older than those two. The F-4 simply out classed the aircraft of its times by a large margin. It won't be fun to go up against an F-4 in a MIG-21. :) -
Disappointed that MiG-21 was not out by now. :( Every game developer (save for a select few) run massive discounts. It is simply how the business model for games, especially digital downloads are these days. ED still makes revenue off of Steam, although Valve takes a cut of the profits. Buying directly from the ED website even at further discounts may still result in more profits going to ED depending on the prices.

nVidia GTX 750 TI 2GB vs. GTX 770 4GB
Flogger23m replied to docfu's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
OP go for the GTX770, get a model with two fans. Save some money and get the 2GB version if you do not plan on playing higher resolutions. PCI-E 3.0 works fine in 2.0. If that is still too expensive then buy a GTX760. GTX760 is slower than a 670. -
Good luck to the winner and thanks to BelSimTek for holding the competition. My entries:

Hello, I am wondering how I would disable the "HUD" which displays gunner ammunition, what weapons you have selected and whatnot for the UH-1H. Can not seem to figure out what it is called in the main menu.
