  1. If we own Flaming Cliffs 3 will be be able to get Su-25, A-10A and Su-27/F-15C ect. when they are released on Steam as well? As I understand it we are getting the same upgrades as the DCS Flaming Cliffs: Su-25/A-10/F-15/Su-27.
  2. Which is too bad. DCS: Black Shark on Steam did not have Starforce and I believe DCS A-10C was the same. I know a decent number of people who want to buy some modules but do not want to support DRM with limited activations. Especially since ED's customer service is not exactly quick or great.
  3. From what I understand the F-15C and Su-27 will get the AFM and it will be free for all FC3 owners. They will be sold as standalone planes just like the Su-25 and A-10A. Considering that I voted for the MIG-29S. Though I think flight model wise the A/G would be very similar to the S.
  4. Exactly my point. Buy on Eagle Dynamic's website, and use it without Steam. Or, buy on ED's website and use Steam so we can get the faster download without putting a strain on ED's servers/bandwidth. Seems like the ideal solution to me. :)
  5. A-10C bought on Steam works through DCS World as download from ED's website. I hope this is true for all future modules of DCS sold on Steam. Likewise, it would be great if our existing DCS World modules can be imported into Steam. Give us the option to run it with or without Steam regardless of where we bought it. Seems like the best and smoothest option for customers. It also makes it easy to send gifts to those who do not want to use Steam. Buy the module on Steam, gift it over. Retrieve CD key without installing the game via Steam and just download it from ED's website and plug in the key from Steam. I did this exact thing with A-10C. I never installed it on Steam even though someone gifted me the copy via Steam. Other games do this. For example, copies of Crysis 2 and Mass Effect 2, if bought on DVD or through a place like Amazon can be activated on Origin. Even if you bought the games prior to Origin's release. It is something to seriously consider. I get 5.5-6MB/S downloads on Steam. Through ED's own updater I get speeds of 20KB/S-1.5MB/S. It varies wildly and I can not pause or stop the download halfway through. However, I am not interested in rebuying Black Shark 2, Huey, and all of my FC3 aircraft to simply activate them on Steam. And I would think downloading off of Valve's servers would save costs on ED's part. Hopefully ED can accomplish such a thing. That is an issue on your end or an issue with that particular game. Steam updates work extremely well. I played Cliffs of Dover for 61 minutes and never installed it again; I think there is something wrong with the game in this instance.
  6. I would hope the Steam versions come with CD keys that can be used in non-Steam modules such as how A-10C bought off of Steam works fine in DCS World. Likewise, it would be nice if every key bought from ED's store could activate on Steam. This offers a few advantages: 1) Easier to gift modules over Steam. 2) Those that don't want to use Steam can easily get gifted or send a gift to someone. 3) Gives us two download sources and the option to see which we like the most.
  7. Hello, Out of curiosity, does ED plan on selling future DCS titles such as FC3, Black Shark 2 and similar on Steam in the future? And if they do, will they be like A-10C in which you get a CD key and can activate through DCS World to run without Steam?
  8. I agree with the P-51 but not the UH-1H. The P-51 is just far too dated and requires entirely new assets. The AAs, trucks, and armor do not match the timeline. In time, a full WWII simulator can be made, but that will take a very long time judging by the rate ED releases content. By that time the P-51 will likely be very dated and in need of an upgrade. And then there is the new IL-2 game which will feature only on WWII and all of its assets. I would rather have ED and others focus on the current theme of 1970-2000 aircraft. Aircraft and variants from the 60s can also fit in (such as the A-4) as equipment from the 60s, such as the SA-2, SA-3 and A-4 all served well into the 80-90s.
  9. Excellent job. It looks very detailed and to me very authentic. Keep up the good work.
  10. Posted this on a couple of other forums. Wish I had some money to get a copy of UH-1H for myself. :(
  11. Considering I paid for them four times already (LOMAC, FC1, FC2, FC3 - essentially no improvements to the Su-33 with FC3) I would not mind getting them in DCS World as a stand alone for free. That is what FC3 should have been from the start to get rid of the LOMAC installation requirement.
  12. That is good news. But what about the MIG-29 and Su-33? If they are updates would those that bought the FC3 beta get upgraded to those as well?
  13. Will it take advantage of modern hardware and will it be optimized? The current engine is extremely unoptimized. The smoke affects look rather dated yet can kill frame rates with drops from 40-50 down to 5 when a UH-1 strafes a target with its gunpods. Various other graphical features look rather dated, such as smoke. And aircraft lack smoke trails. My main concern is the current engine does not utilize modern hardware and still runs rather bad while looking dated in some aspects. If the new engine can fix it I would be thrilled.
  14. Bump. Still haven't figured this out. I find it unintuitive to use the keyboard for the collective. I hate to say it, but I think I just wasted $24. Why spend money to "upgrade" software when it lacks functionality the previous version had?
  15. I am getting an error when placing an AI or playable F-15C in the mission editor. The F-15s simply won't spawn. However, when I run the quick mission with the F-15C it loads fine.
  16. Can we use the auto updater to download it? When running the exe it just launches the game. Edit: Downloading now.
  17. This would be ideal. It would be the best way to get the 3D model to a large audience as everyone with DCS World can view the 3D model, and those with FC3 can fly it. I assume this is a mod and not a paid expansion. If you are charging for a 3D model I will have to pass as I am not interested in buying individual 3D models, sound files, textures, ect. Also makes it hard to play online if people have incompatible 3D models.
  18. Can you link me to the announcements for these two aircraft? Is the Su-27SM going to be in FC3 or a standalone high fidelity module?
  19. So far all of the functions have imported correctly with the exception of the throttle (I use it for collective) and trim (I use joybutton 3). Trim is displayed as joybutton3 in the menu, and I have cleared it and reassigned it. However it will still not work in actual gameplay. I also don't see a "Controllers" tab under the options menu. If I were to start the set up from scratch, how would I do that? It seems that there is only an option to import and no "default" option.
  20. Hello, I am wondering if it is possible to import my control set up for my X52Pro from Black Shark 1 (Steam version) to Black Shark 2 (DCS World)? I am using the in game control setup/configuration. I load my .lua file with my control setup from BS1 though my collective and trimmer do not seem to work. Most of my other functions carried over fine. Is there anyway to resolve this issue? Or must I create a new profile from scratch? I tried manually resetting the trimmer button in World however this does not seem to change anything and it remains nonfunctional in World. If I must redo the controls from scratch, how do I program my collective for up/down? I forgot how I did it in BS1. I was able to successfully import my FC2 profiles into FC3/World with no issues though. Hopefully this is possible with BS1 to BS2/World.
  21. Hello, Is there anyway to buy and gift a DCS module to someone without the buyer logging into the other persons account and seeing their CD key? I am referring to a Steam-like gift service. I can not seem to find such an option on ED's E-shop thought I might be missing it.
  22. Will there be a sale on Black Shark 2 Upgrade version? Don't leave out your long time supporters. ;)
  23. One thing the server browser needs is to display what flyable aircraft the server/mission has available at the current time. Currently someone with only the A-10C might join a server only to find out there are no flyable A-10Cs in the current mission.
  24. While that would be nice we need an update for the flyable Flaming Cliffs 3 aircraft first. The Su-27 and Su-33 look horrible compared to the MIG-31 and AN-26. Those two aircraft as well as the MIG-29A/S/G should be top priorities as we will spend more time looking at those than some truck or non-flyable transport plane.
  25. Are the final versions of your initial flyable aircraft going to be freeware, or will they turn into payware?
