  1. Manual is something I want to take a look at quickly during the mission to refresh clickology, not electronics handbook.
  2. actually you get less smoke when you hit afterburner in most engines.
  3. I do too weep for humanity because people are trying to be smartasses while being ignorant. What you describe is an astronomical definition which is not the only one that people use.
  4. I work in a software company where half of devs is from Poland and other half is from Ukraine and delays caused by war are much smaller than what HB states. Obviously our dev department is likely 10 times bigger than HB but still its hard for me to believe they overshot their estimates by 50% (2 years vs 3 years of development), especially if you consider the fact that they dont seem to hire too many ppl from UA (at least according to their LinkedIn). Add all this to the fact that HB was very bad at keeping their announced release dates even before the war and you have a reason why people are frustrated with them. If they were Razbam, people would be already sharpening their pitchforks.
  5. I have been waiting so long I kinda lost interest in DCS altogether to a point I am not sure if I would buy F4 now.
  6. Still better than just pulling news out of thin air. I cant believe a company like HB with 2 dozen or so people on their paycheck would allow its biggest release in 4 years to be dependent on other 3rd party issues. I am pretty sure they have something in the contract that says how much ED can delay stuff unilaterally. Its amazing that despite both HB and ED denied this crap we are talking about this.
  7. There is a several pages long discussion about this in the F15E section. Whats funny is that someone from HB already said that the Eagle will not affect the Phantom's release but the discussion rages on still
  8. So much this. I never saw an issue with spotting system at long distances as it depends on gazilion of variables (fog, air pollution, sun position etc) so discussion 6nm vs 10 nm vs 20 nm is pointless - important part is to make sure that players with different monitors have the same chance to spot a target.
  9. This is huge. Me and my buddies had to delete our Azure virtual machine because DCS server requirements were pushing the costs up.
  10. For me its a game like any other so I will try to buy it cheaper when I can.
  11. Thats absolutely not the same thing. Superbowl date is known in advance. Movies are also different - its the producing company that pays for the movie to be made and decides when it wants to release it. The proper analogy would be to 3rd party companies that do CGI stuff for the movie that is postponed - like TopGun:Maverick. Do you think that those 3rd party companies were not paid for 2 years waiting the movie to be released? I dont think so.
  12. they are dead silent right now so all we can do is speculate lol
  13. And you think company that employs at least a dozen people will allow postponing their biggest release since 2019 on marketing strategy of another company? ED might have some leeway but companies plan their budgets on stuff like this and I am sure its all regulated in the contract.
