Wolfpack II: Overlord Campaign Info
dggoofy replied to Reflected's topic in DCS: P-47D Wolfpack II: Overlord Campaign
Hi, Question: The Wolfpack I campaign includes 12 missions, 2 of which are bombing missions. Are there more bombing missions in Wolfpack II (and if so, how many?) Cheers Dan -
Free Mi-24P Campaign : The Dawn Of The Soviet-Afghan War
dggoofy replied to dggoofy's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Indeed, as Raven pointed out, I have no control over the AI's behavior. In my campaigns, wingmen operate independently. Understand that it’s a separate aircraft to which I assign orders to follow the leader and carry out missions. You can prevent an AI aircraft from taking off by placing an obstacle in its taxi path. This is harder to do with helicopters. Sometimes it works, but other times, for unknown reasons, they take off vertically from their parking spot. In the case of the Soviet-Afghan War Dawn campaign, if you’re supposed to take off from the beginning of the runway, your wingman should, in principle, follow you. However, I’ve already noticed that it sometimes takes off directly from its parking spot instead. If you’re supposed to take off from Charlie, I’ve created two wingmen: one that taxis and another that takes off to follow you. There’s no other way, because by default, AI always takes off from the start of the runway. That’s why I included the warning: "Don’t worry about your wingman—he’s doing his job!" During test, I had very few issues with AI. -

It's an issue with DCS : AI helos takeoff are unreliable. I've had the same problems! Sometimes, all aircraft take off normally from the runway, but other times, the AI just goes completely wild. I’ve sent a message to ED (Eagle Dynamics) so they can fix this issue. -
Free Mi-24P Campaign : The Dawn Of The Soviet-Afghan War

I don't think you missed anything. I flew both routes. Nothing special happened. Just a regular flight to the airport. Indeed... The mission 2 is set as you should take the shortest way. As named, the longest is... long. Nothing happens. But it should give you 100% at the end anyhow. In the opposite, the shortest is full of dialogues -
Free Mi-24P Campaign : The Dawn Of The Soviet-Afghan War

I’m glad you like the campaign. I mostly create missions to fill a gap—there wasn’t much out there. They’re my style, with all their strengths and flaws. I’m happy to share them, but I get it if they’re not everyone’s cup of tea. No big deal, though—you’ve always got my blessing to tweak them and make them your own! -

Strange. I've had no issue with the map (except the missing level)... Well, glad you enjoy the campaign anyhow. -

I'm sure you set all CB switches on the left panel on! That's the problem! In Chuck's guide, it is clear you should left OFF. And it will work! -

Soviet-afghan War Campaign for Mi-24 RELEASED
dggoofy replied to dggoofy's topic in Missions and Campaigns
In DCS, compromises are often necessary. For instance, the Afghanistan map represents the 2000s era, which is very different from 1979. At that time, there were no night vision goggles, no Stinger missiles, and so on. However, if one is looking for a bit of enjoyment, some historical flexibility must be accepted. Of course, no one is obligated to play my campaigns. Finally, I offer a 'satisfaction guaranteed or refund' policy. -

dggoofy replied to dggoofy's topic in Missions and Campaigns
WWP ? Work Well in Progress 10 missions done. Last 11th one in built. null"You are Igor Ivanovich, captain of the 302e OVE - 302nd Independent Attack Helicopter Squadron (302-я отдельная вертолётная эскадрилья). Along with your co-pilot, Piotr Petrovich, you are among the first squadron to land in Afghanistan. It is Monday, December 24, 1979. 3:00 AM. The Soviet invasion is underway!" This campaign, heavily based on real events, recreates some of the Mi-24 missions between their arrival in Bagram on December 24, 1979, and the capture of Jalalabad in January 1980. Merci / Thank you for you support! Release ? July. -

Hi, I attached a miz to let you see the "issue". I want my AI helos to wait until I want them to taxi. So, as I do for AI airplanes, I put a "block" (infantry or vehicle) in front of them. But, why it works very well for most of them, I always get one that takes off from parking ? Have a look in the attached mission. The "rebel" is at Kaboul, apron North. Cheers! Dan Helico-block.miz

Soviet-afghan War Campaign for Mi-24 RELEASED
dggoofy replied to dggoofy's topic in Missions and Campaigns
OK dear fellows, Just a quick update on my upcoming Mi-24 campaign set in Afghanistan. As with all my previous campaigns, this one will be story-driven and supported with plenty of documentation—approach charts, briefings, and more. And of course, a must for me: full voice-over! Thanks to AI, voice quality and realism are getting better and better. For authenticity, all dialogues are in Russian with English subtitles. That said, a big apology to all native Russian speakers—while I do speak some Russian, my level isn't high enough to ensure 100% accurate dialogue. Sorry about that! Sure, I could try to find native Russian speakers to help, which would be awesome—but it would also take much more time to finish the campaign. And since it’s a free one... As of today, I’ve written 11 missions. The campaign spans about 10 days. 8 missions are ready, and 5 have been fully tested and (hopefully!) are bug-free. Cheers null -

Sure, I'm aware of that. I put the max power and (if possible) on a high position. My question is : In my campaign made for DCS 2.8, I set a couple of ground com vehicles (power 50 w). I could complete the mission without problem (distance to the com emitter >50 NM) and now in DCS 2.9, it doen't work any more. Max distance is about 35 NM. I have to duplicate the emitters if I do not want to redo the whole mission.
-
Hi, Just wander what's the distance now a ground unit can be catched from the air ? I created a campaign (Equilibrium 1975) and put some ground ATC within ME. And now they are unaudible if the player's plane is more than 35 NM. With the update, has the distance been reduced ? Cheers

Gosh! Thanks. Didn't see that. And this mistake is on every version. Corrected and updloaded right now.
