  1. OK just purchased it. Downloading the sim, patches and videos from DCS site now. Decided to buy direct from DCS as had no problems with them with FC2.
  2. Frederf I was asking about the training videos that you could watch in game like in Flaming Cliffs. When I got FC2 I bought the DL version and had to DL the videos to install into the sim. I know about the youtube channel ( have watched a few times) but also like the option of watching in game.
  3. Quick questions, I have ordered the printed manual from Amazon but have not decided whether to buy the download or boxed version of the sim. If I go down the DL route do I also need to DL the training videos as per FC2? Does the boxed version contain the videos?
  4. DCS : Sopwith Camel F.1
  5. When you do this fantastic deed let me know, maybe I could see the burning boat floating past the north Cornwall coast on its way to Valhalla. :megalol:. That would certainly keep the bloody Australian surfers quiet for a few days
  6. Just checked ultramon, it does not have the 3D app spanning. The reason I got it was mainly for quick profile switching. It's so much quicker than using windows or nvidia options. (eg I can switch my HDTV to 2nd monitor and set to 24hz with one click from the task bar.)
  7. In your FC2 install directory you should have a Docs folder, the manual is in there in PDF format
  8. ok I will have a look when I get home.
  9. I'm not actually on my home PC at the moment, and I've never had to span 3d apps across monitors but the ultramon site might be of help http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/
  10. Ah OK I misunderstood the question. I actually use a program called ultramon to control my multi-monitor setup as it has many more options than the standard MS ones. just checked and it has an option for wallpaper span across monitors.
  11. Win7 can span across multiple monitors Right click on the desktop, click on resolution and there is a drop down menu for multiple displays.
  12. If you look under options/controls you should be able to map the buttons and tune the different axis'. Also plug in the stick before you start the game.
  13. Another vote for the X52 Pro here. I've had mine for 2 years and not had a problem with it yet. I love the MFD when using it during FSX being able to control the AP,Nav and Comms without having to open the radio panel is great. I wish somebody with the skills could do something with the MFD for FC2 as some have with F4 and IL-2. The programming SW is great too, if a little daunting at first.
  14. I'm using the x52 pro on win7 64 and it works without a hitch.
  15. Won't work for me I cant even get it to start. I have the latest version (1.3) and I always get the error shown in the screenshot. I have tried with 3 different cameras (microsoft vx-6000, xbox vision cam and a cheapo non branded ebay special. All the cams work perfectly in messenger and skype etc. I've run the program in compatibility modes and as admin and no joy. I'm running win7 64
  16. You'll have no problems, I now have Win7 64 retail and have changed practically every component since I installed it (day of release) and it revalidated every time without fail.
  17. If you buy Win7 OEM it is pretty much locked to the PC it is installed on. This generally means that you can change the HDD, RAM and GPU and have to revalidate Win7 automatically online without the need to call the validation team.(in theory ! I once had Vista OEM and I had to call the team when I changed my old ATI card to a new nvidia and had to really plead to get them to revalidate) However a motherboard change is normally classed as a new PC and can invalidate Win7.You would have to call MS then and explain why you needed to change the MB. You will have to say that you purchased the PC and the MB died and needed replacing. Do not say you just wished to upgrade! Since the release of Win7 MS changed the licensing terms of OEM for hobbyists, see http://forums.cnet.com/5208-19411_102-0.html?threadID=374252 http://www.microsoft.com/oem/en/licensing/sblicensing/pages/licensing_for_hobbyists.aspx Hope this helps
  18. Slayer you beat me to it was about to post exactly the same thing, I had a bit of trouble till I saw the rename fix on the FF forum.
  19. The new nvidia beta drivers (260.63) out today have improved backwards compatibility with DX7. Falcon 4 AF is mentioned in the release notes. On the nvidia blogs/forums a nvidia admin mentioned that they were aware of FF problems so maybe if this beta driver has no joy maybe the full release of the 260 driver (normally 1 week after beta) will finally get it working. I have just installed the beta driver and will see later this evening or tomorrow if that gets FF5.5.1 running with win7 64
  20. I'm running Win7 64 and have the same behaviour but not for 1-2 min maybe for 10 secs as the mission loads, this is because of the switch from launcher.exe to simulator.exe. I have FC2 installed on the same disc as win 7 but not in the default install directory I have it installed at c:\flamingcliffs2. OT but is win 7 x86 really a good idea with your system? you're wasting 2.8 GB of your RAM plus other benefits of using a 64bit os.
  21. Found this on another site :- The X52 (normal) used a file format thats binary with the extension dat. This format can't be used with the software for the Pro version. The file format for the X52 Pro is pr0, but the format contained has changed in a breaking way with the newest version of the software. There even seems to be a platform binding so that profiles generated with the same version of the software can't be used on ex. both Windows XP and Vista. I think your best bet is to print your profile and get him to input it into his SST manually.
  22. As nomdeplume said above some time ago SST profiles changed from .dat to .pr0 (when the x52 pro was released) and I don't think there is a reliable converter program. The way I got round this when a friend wanted my FSX profile for his stick was to use the print profile feature in SST and I emailed him that and he just copied it into his SST. hope that helps.
  23. Ahh didn't read that properly, think I need more coffee. Looking back the release delay did catch me out when I first flew the A-10.
  24. OK just thought he might be pressing the same button for both as he said bullets come out when he fired, which will happen even in if RKT is shown in the HUD.
  25. The C key selects the cannon, D key cycles between other weapons. I have my stick (X52 pro) mapped to use trigger (Space Key) to fire guns and another button mapped to release weapon (RAlt+Space). I am assuming your flying the A-10 as the Russian planes use the same button to fire all weapons.
