All the fixed SAM systems seem to work ok. i.e.....They use their search radars which shows up on my RWR and once i'm within shooting range they then turn on their tracking radars, track me for a while and then launch their missiles. On the mobile launchers (Tor,Tunguska, Osa, Roland), even though they have search radars fitted, i'm receiving no search radar indication on my RWR. They just seem to go straight into the tracking mode and then launch. Is this how they're designed to work in game, as i'm guessing that in real life, they would try and avoid using their radars (even using data link) so as not to give their presence away until the last moment. However if the above mobile SAM systems where operating independently, then i would expect to see their search radars working on my RWR. In the mission editor is it possible to tell the SAM platform/Site to delay it's use of radar and launch only when the target aircraft is well within "no escape" range. Have been messing around creating scenarios within the mission editor to practice my SAM evasion. I've found that often they launch at maximum engagement range and are quiet easy to defeat just by turning away. If you find yourself well within their "kill" zone, then they are obviously much harder to defeat... Thanks.... .............................................................. edit.... I've noticed that the search radars on the self propelled mobile SAM launchers don't indicate on my RWR. Only when they enter tracking mode and they launch a missile at me do I get any indication. The Shilka search radar also does not work and the German Gepard only seems to rely on its laser for gun aiming. Is this in the pipeline to be fixed ?....

Will the fly through trees be addressed in the future ?... Not really an issue whist in the A-10C, but when playing the KA-50 and you get shot down by tree proof missiles/ordanance...............kind of spoils the fun... Im guessing that this has'nt already been addressed due to the extra processing power/calculations that would be required ??.

I'm using an SSD hard drive and i've got about 0.5 of a second between the POST finishing and the Windows Splash screen appearing to hit the F8 key at exactly the right moment !!!.. I managed it once in about 30 re-starts...!!!. Did some more googling and found out that you can use system config to set Safe mode and then restart the machine. Just remember to uncheck the Safe boot box when you have finished before restarting the machine again. Just posted my findings in case it might help somebody else... Hello Anybody know how to put a ASUS P8P67 into safe mode ?. Just wanting to Ccleaner my old 11.5 ATI drivers before installing the 11.6's. Have done a google search and tried tapping the F6 key during the POST (Tapping the F8 key, just brings up the disk boot option). Manual makes no mention. Thanks.....

Hello Malefic Rage. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I've been on Google reading various support/discussion forums but gave up in the end as the threads just go on and on !!!... Many of the answers were not really concise and helpful as to how you actually prepare an SSD for windows installation and maintain it once it's up and running. I can't find the exact source again but one guy advised never to do a full format on an SSD as he somehow managed to break his.... Reading stuff like that makes your arse twitch when you have just paid £250 ($380 Aus) for a 120 Gb drive.... Needless to say at that kind of money i'll not be buying another one for a while !!!!... Once it's installed it'll be interesting to see how it performs with DCS. Thanks again.......

Hello Have just bought a OCZ Vertex 3 SSD and have been reading various other forums on how to configure them for installation. 1) I'm i right in believing that you must never do a full format of an SSD before installing windows 7. 2) During Windows setup you only need to do a quick format. 3) Once Windows is up and running is it ok to use the Disk management program in Windows 7 to partition my drive ?. 4) Can you defrag them like any other hard drive. 5) In the future if i ever wanted to do a full install of Windows again, how would you go about erasing the drive ?. Basic questions but i'm just wanting to avoid any "expensive" mistakes !!!..... Thanks......

Dumb question......but.... Have been looking at SSD's, i was just wondering which size do you go for ?... I have a choice of either 2.5" or 3.5" and they both have the same gb capacities. A 3.5" drive would maybe fit straight into a standard disk drive tray ???.. Will a SSD require an eSATA cable or would a normal SATA II cable be ok ?. Thanks....

Hello I'm looking to upgrade my computer and have been reading reviews and trying to compare performance tables between the i5 2500k and i7 2600k processors. I'd be interested in building from a bundle as the components are already matched and also because i have never assembled a computer before. From what i've read i think i have decided to go for the i5 2500k processor and have come across the following website:- http://www.scan.co.uk/3xs-overclocked-bundles I'd be interested in either the Intel P67 Chipset "Smart", "Radius" or the "Edge" (with the i5 2500k fitted) bundles but would probably upgrade to 8gb of RAM. The money that i have saved by selecting the i5 processor would probably be used to purchase an SSD. Any suggestions or advice on these bundles would be much appreciated... Thanks........

I agree, have only been using Halios a short while but would definitely purchase again as it's hard to fly without it !!!... Good to see that some Black Shark Gauges have been included with this new release....no doubt they'll keep me occupied for a while building my new BS glass pit.. Cheers...

Hello Viper. At the moment i've reverted back to the 1.06 full install + patch 1.07 and this indicates version 1.0.1.0.7 in the mission editor as i'd expect. Earlier this morning when i clicked the torrent link for the full 1.0.1.0.7 version, i didn't really take any notice of exactly what i was downloading.....i've never had an problems before. Once downloaded i went straight ahead and did a clean install expecting to see version 1.07 in the mission editor credits. It indicated that i had version 1.06 installed ???. At the moment i'm not really getting anywhere as i have now tripple checked the provided 1.07 torrent link and everytime it has downloaded the full 1.06 install ???.. I can't explain that one away ???...................it seems to be working ok for other people. Thanks...

Just had a quick look at Utorrent under the General tab as suggested and it says that it's english version 1.0.1.0.6 ????... Have revisited the download section again and when i click on the 1.07 torrent download link it starts Utorrent but it says that it's version 1.06 in the comments tab ?. It seems that everybody else who has used this torrent has not had any issues......don't understand. Please could anybody provide a link/pointer to another 1.07 full torrent download ?. Thanks...

Hello Both my Netbook and main computer are using windows 7 Home edition. Will try only having the touchscreen plugged in and see if it works ok. Have tried grounding the USB plug, but to no avail. I have replaced all cables but once again................ it just don't want to work no more !!!!... My 31 day no question asked return period is nearly due. So in the next couple of days in order to claim a full refund i'm going to have to box the monitor up and send it back......... I must have more money then sense as i have already ordered it's replacement (HP 2310ti 23"), hopefully i will have better luck with one of those. Trouble is it's hard work having to use the mouse again once you get used to Halios !!!!... Appreciate your replies. Thankyou...

......................Update............................. Monitor touchscreen function has failed again.... Have tried it again on my little netbook but now comes up with a "USB device not recognised error".....................same error as my main computer. Tried plugging the monitor into my powered USB HUB, but does not even power up the little green status lamp and computer do's not see the monitor. My HUB is about 5 years old through.... Have run out of ideas at the moment !!!... Thanks...

Hello When i plugged the monitor into my computer for the first time it automatically installed software, i then went to device manager and updated the driver. The monitor is connected directly to my motherboard, but i have swapped the USB plugs around but it didn't make much difference. I then plugged the monitor into my little netbook computer and it worked fine, i then connected it back up to my "main" computer and once again it worked fine ???....... Now i can't get it to fail !!!!................so i'm non the wiser as to why it's all working again ??... The monitor takes about a minute for the touchscreen function to work after windows has started, i maybe suspected that it might be something to so with ATI CCC not initialising it properly...........................will check the settings again when i have a bit more time. One little strange thing i have noticed is that if i don't want to wait the minute for the touchscreen function to initialise and start working then i can just start the Halios software and it starts working immediately ????... I have noticed that on my USB hub one of the channels has stopped working so i will be buying a new one when i'm next in town. Just in case that is introducing any errors into my computer. So it's working every time now i restart the computer, don't really know what went wrong but it certainly looked to be something with my computer. Will just have to see how things go.... Hello A month ago i purchased an ACER T231H Touchscreen monitor so that i could use the Halios software Worked great for about 4 days and then the touchscreen function on the monitor stopped working. Everything else works fine and the display is ok. I sent that monitor back for an exchange and have been using the new monitor (same model) for approx 4 days and now the exact same problem has occured !!!... "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" In device manager in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers listing it shows up as "Unknown Device" with an orange exclamation triangle. When i unplug the monitors USB plug and then plug it back in it comes up with a device has malfunctioned and failed to install properly message. I have looked on the internet for possible fixes and have tried unplugging my USB devices and then going into Device Manager and then deleting the USB plug symbols(Under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers tab). . Sometimes this cures the problem after i have restarted the computer, sometimes not. However if i do manage to get the touchscreen function working, often after i have restarted the computer the touchscreen function ceases to work again. Can anybody suggest any ideas before i have to send the monitor back and ask for a refund as my 30 day return period is nearly up. Just don't understand how two monitors fail in exactly the same circumstances, hopeing that the fix to this is something obvious. Appreciate any help....thanks....

Is Dual screen still working ok with the latest release ? What sort of performance are you multimonitor users obtaining when running in windowed mode......any improvement over Beta 4 ??????. Would love to answer my own questions but i'm working away from home at the moment and going to have to wait another week before i get to download and play.......:(

I was thinking of cannibalising my current rig to help reduce costs. The reason i looked at the overclocker bundles is because in theory they should already be well matched and proven components that work well togeather........and i've never built a PC before. To be honest i'm in two minds whether or not to ditch my mobo/processor/memory as they work perfectly well.
