Not sure why this was rushed out and called a final release instead of just another beta release, since they seemingly knew going in by admissions from the testers that it was still broken in some places, but I'm sure there was some kind of business thing behind the scenes that drove that. What it was really isnt important.. it's out now. Regardless, I'm simply hopeful they come out with some kind of autoupdater soon which will make the need for patches to as yet found or unfound bugs much less of a hassle for anyone. I'd heard they were discussing it during the beta cycles, but never saw anything come of that. It would fit real nicely with this situation now, that's for sure.. for ED and the community. If they make that a priority first, then rolling out patches becomes much less stressful all the way around.. IMHO.

So what happens when we get a message that says "this installation can only be uninstalled in 64 bit windows" and Im running XP32 ?? Is deleting the install folder sufficient then ??:helpsmilie:

hear you...but yet he's still managing it seems. The editor may not be complete and it may have some errors..but to say it's unplayable and/or you can't make missions..well that's just silly in the face of all these working missions made in B4...imho

I think Greb and all of his ardent mission followers would disagree with you... just look at the laundry list of really nice missions he's made thru beta 4 in the User made missions and campaigns forum...several others have also made numerous working missions with a variety of goals, features and targets...my missions folders have dozens of working missions in them right now...SP and MP.. perhaps it's mission editor operator error or a training issue... :music_whistling:

Love the new gun sound, the mk-82air's and their animations (that explosion animation is new right ? Doesnt seem like Ive seen them explode like that before), and did you see that CBU spread ?? just awesome.. cannot wait to try out the MP AAR and JTAC either... I think Im starting to put a dent in my monitor where it says "New Posts":book::lol: Is it ready yet ? How about now ? :pilotfly:

Awesome mission... Flew it all the way through, killed all targets and came back for the refuel. One small problem..the tanker was actually stationed at 1000 feet not 10000 feet as it says.. but it was a lot of fun trying to connect to it in the dark 1000 feet off the deck anyway.. it finally broke away and i was right in front of Sochi so i put it down there. Had a blast with this one. Love all your work on these missions. keep em coming man !! :thumbup: :joystick::pilotfly:

65D's I can get locks from 8 - 8.5 miles out or so most times.. H's are half that in this last version so far for me. Most times it's hard to get it to lock outside of 5 miles. usually closer to 4. Could be I'm doing something wrong, but these are all from TGP slaved locks and level flight. So try coming closer with that H and see if it catches for you til they adjust it (hopefully ?). I've taken to trading any H's out for D's in the meantime.

Does this count ?? Both wings sheared off in flight and on fire..and still manage to land it... no hud, no mfd's, no speed brakes.. tried to upload again but as mentioned, they are in the screenshot thread on page 250..

Here's one for you.. Flying a bombing run last night and during the run, sustained damage and lost the outside half of both wings.. Sim announces im dead, both my wings are on fire where they were sheared off, but im still flying....not only that, my rudders are giving some flight control along with minimal response from the stick, so it's actually still somewhat controllable..And with clipped wings I managed to make a 180 diving turn and land at an airfield that was right near me when this happened.. I couldnt believe I got it all the way down.. No speed brakes though, so i skidded off the runway..but i lived. Now that's durable..lol -
what accomplishes this ?? I must be missing a step in my preflight.. :pilotfly:

They removed the nevada map a version or two back due to problems with it. Hopefully to be re-released later at some point..that's what they meant to say but it came out in forum troll-ese..:thumbup:

mine continues to freeze the game completely just short of launching weapons on various identified targets.. usually around 9-10 miles out from them. Game just stops dead frozen and you have to end process from Task mgr to break out. I tried it about 5 times the other night.. and sometimes I engage and clear the first target, move on to the second one and this occurs..sometimes it freezes while approaching the first one.. But i have yet to complete it without this occurring at one point or another.. This has not occurred for me with any other DCS mission that i am aware, just as the other fellow in this thread mentioned.. I am running many of the other user made missions in this forum and having very little trouble. Just some feedback for you. hopefully, it's just a beta bug of some kind. love the concept and how it's working so far..it's helped me practice chasing down those coordinates, thats for sure. :) (Oh and I've been focusing on the SP version..just FYI in case that helps) p.s. - I found that power plant (i think) and had it locked up and about to put a jdam on it when the big freeze came on one of my attempts.

several of us ran it last night and it's pretty nice. My host did lock up as I was approaching the comm tower task once (sorry Airdog, we were almost there).. and Burner kept having odd dark blue background graphic glitches... neither of which we can conclusively point to one thing or another. Just saying we were having more trouble than usual last night and this was our only mission. Otherwise the dynamic nature of this mission is very cool. Looking forward to running it some more real soon. Thanks for all the hard work on this one.:thumbup:

nevertheless that's what happened that one time.. it wasnt a TOT issue as they both crashed and died before they even left the airport, but it's a great mission and these things happen with AI things occasionally.. no biggie. I hit the bunker dead on and watched it in the TGP as it hit. Again, just letting you know what I saw in the debrief list afterward there. It showed 4 deltas dead from the same weapon. Today I ran it again, and this time on the inbound, I let the AI wingman loose on ground targets, and boy he went hog wild with mavericks...by the time I pulled him back he'd dropped a bomb among the troops and along with the enemies, it seems he took out the JTAC that was almost online (by killing the friendlies nearby I presume), so again, could not get location of the HVT.. Gonna keep trying though and leave that AI plane orbiting back at the IP.. Thanks for whipping this mission up Bahger.. -

I believe this is dependent on whether the Specops team is inserted and the JTAC can set up.. I flew it once last night and two of the blackhawks crashed into each other over the airport and the third one just circled aimlessly over the target area without inserting..so i never got the call there on that run, but had just finished it successfully before this when they all got there and finished the objectives... The HVT is the bunker the team marks for you.. Killing the shilkas clears the way for the team to be inserted so they can mark it for you. They are not the "HVT". (Also noticed on the good run that along with the Bunker, the lgb also took out 4 Deltas that were too close I guess.. ) perhaps if the blackhawks were spawned a little farther apart it might help avoid that possibility of AI aircraft running into each other and breaking the mission or making any of the 3 choppers capable of inserting the force in case this happens....just a couple thoughts. -

Have repeatedly seen crash issues with contacting the tower on the ground in several missions now...SP and MP.. So I have stopped doing so for the time being. In SP, the game just crashes, in MP, the clients time out and kick then the host finally crashes..
