  1. I can't find my notes, have not had a chance to ask Hawkeye, and have been unsuccessful in a forum search so...... Is the orientation of turrets a model function, a lua function, or some other function such as a mod conflict? Attached picture is of one of the IJN ships in the Japanese Naval Assets and the stern turrets are defaulting to a 180 degree rotation in the wrong direction. seabat

  3. T, I tried it out. Skyraider lands fine. Take off is another story. I did not find any catapult option for a launch so I guess it defaults to a rolling start. Loaded (100% fuel, rockets and wing tanks) the plane does not get enough speed to get airborne and hits the water. At same externals and internal fuel dropped to about 30% fuel the landing gear was "inches" off the water before it climbed for altitude. No wind across the deck. Just a quick test. seabat
  4. Let see, issues with systems, glitches being identified, tracked down and squashed, delays in a fully functional carrier. Funny how this thread almost reads like reports of the real USS Ford in the newspapers over the past few years. Who says DCS does not offer the most realistic simulation of weapons ever! Beldin, your work on the Ford as well as other carriers has been, still is, and will be much appreciated. seabat
  5. Geschirre, I looked at the texture folder that came with Bronya's second download. The files were not in a zip file so I zipped them, labeled as Louisiana, and the missing textures in ME were no longer an issue. At least it worked for me. seabat
  6. Yes, big guns need big visuals. Was playing around with some older WW2 mods and thought the big guns were too similar to the smaller guns and was wondering if I could double the size of the visual. Will follow up with Hawkeye and see what I can convince him to do seabat
  7. Just curious but are muzzle blasts a function of lua codes? In other words is there a way to increase or decrease the blast and smoke size by lua code? If so, can someone point me to the section in the lua where the codes might be? seabat
  8. Carlo, For what it is worth 1. The mod has worked for me after the Dec 24 update to DCS 2. I have never tried to install manually, I only used OVGME. 3. Control and bindings are the same as the F/A-18C but I seem to remember I had to re-enter the bindings for the D the first time I loaded it. I have not done it for a while but I do know that any controls I use (I have not used everything) are the same for both the C and D. seabat
  9. I meant that I did a quick paint job of the texture and if you zoomed in on the texture it would look like a cartoon not a photo. perhaps I should not have used the word realistic. seabat

Usually when I have an issue with a texture not showing up I have either.... 1. not typed in the name of the new texture file correctly in the description lua 2. have forgotten to change the description lua code from true to false ie: {"VSN_YF12A_Nachbrenner", DIFFUSE , "vsn_yf12a_nachbrenner", true}; {"VSN_YF12A_Nachbrenner", DIFFUSE , "vsn_yf12a_nachbrenner", false}; 3. have not labeled the parent livery folder correcty when I add it to the saved games livery folder in this case VSN_YF12A 4. If I placed the new dds file in the mod texture zip folder I forgot to give it the same name as the original and allowed it to replace. "vsn_yf12a_nachbrenner" (my version of the mod may be old and VSN may have adjusted their dds file names) 5. The one I really hate - I left out a coma, dash, or some other character in the code when I changed the description lua. This one usually results in the livery not showing up at all. I have made a lot of mistakes in livery creations but the above are the main ones I consistently stumble into. Based on your post I would guess either 1, 2 or 4 may have caught you. seabat
