  1. I found another mission i was in the process of making until this same problem came about and I stopped making the mission. It was a mission where we needed to take over an makeshift airfield, bombers come in, enemy convoys, planes, friendlys come in, etc, I deleted all the triggers because i was trying to find the problem, just like other mission this is a rough draft because i wasnt able to complete it. But enough about the mission, hopefully having another mission to look at it, giving a lockup, will help. See attachment. My apologizes for derailing your thread Aviators. lockupmission2.miz
  2. I am happy to hear it was repeatable by somebody else, but also sad at the same time...I was hoping it was something on my end, like a simple driver issue, haha. If you follow my steps above, you can achieve a "work-around", and maybe find the real problem and a solution. This was a temp thing for me to see why its locking up, but beyond those things I mentioned earlier I have no idea why, and it does it different times I made missions. edit: A few things I can personaly rule out from my own testing: 1 - It's not a limit on how many groups or units, I made another mission with 200 units, 20 groups, 10 units each, no lockup. I was thinking maybe there is a max # of units/groups available at a giving time that will run. 2 - I also tried on another mission with the 20 groups (10units ea.) and put a farp in and other static buildings thinking maybe a max # of units/groups, waypoints & static objects "overloaded' the mission, but it loaded up fine. Hopefully some good news soon about finding the problem :D
  3. Dragony, here is a mission that is locking up. Just load up this mission, and see if it locks up for you, for me it will always lockup within 1-2sec, no more than 2seconds. As far as the mission goes, its a FARP base with friendly convoys heading to an enemy base, with that enemy base guarded by AAA and convoys. Obviously, its not finished, its a very rough draft of a few ideas I had, there are no triggers yet so it isnt trigger related. This I can tell you about the lockups: Load up the mission, see if it locks up, If it locks up do the following in the editor: 1 - Right next to the farp is the 3 friendly convoys heading west, the middle convoy is BMP-3s, if you timehold it to 23hrs the mission will not lock up. (BMP-3 Convoy name 'Time hold 23 and no lockup') 2 - You can also make it work by deleting the USA HAWK units far Northeast, and leaving the BMP-3 convoy to 0, so it spawns right away. (Enemy HAWK group name 'Delete this and no lockup') So basically, Timehold middle friendly convoy to 23hrs while leaving USA enemy Hawk unit in, it will loadup. If you delete enemy hawk unit, you dont have to timehold friendly bmp3 convoy and it'll work. If you delete hawk unit, just re-add, and it will instantly lockup again. I narrowed it down to that much, if it doesnt lockup for you, then i can work on my end, maybe issue with my comp. This isn't the only mission this has happened to me on, it's happened acouple other times after putting lots of hours into a mission and getting so frustrated with the lockups trying to figure it out i ended up deleting the missions, but I stuck with it this time and pinpointed it to the couple problems above, for this specific mission. lockupmission.miz
  4. I ended up doing a few things to mission and now the mission is working just fine. I promise next time this lockup happens i'll save mission, and upload here so you can take a look.
  5. It's missions I am making, with 1.01 patch. I havent opened or edited any missions that game with game or other missions made by users, prepatch or post patch. So far, I can narrow it down to just missions I make because of this. I am trying to pinpoint the problem, I'll post the mission soon, its really problematic because it makes me want to stop making a mission due to lockup, then sometimes it works ><
  6. I am having the same problem. There is no "Error", no error crash log. I simply just load up a mission, and sometimes within 1-2seconds it will freeze, no errors. It just stops responding. I cannot figure it out, I have unplugged my logitech momo wheel, my 360 usb controller, even my x52, tried new 9.8 ati drivers, tried different sound drivers, tried enabling and disabling 3d alchemy, tried disable/enable catalyst AI... I also dont have a sidewinder mouse This is with a fresh install of BS then patch install, no mods installed. It just flat out stops responding, when this happens its always within 1-2sec of a mission start. It's weird because sometimes it will play fine. I'm running out of ideas...i'll be watchin this thread. Vista 64 Saitek X52 ATI 4850 ATI 9.8 drivers Creative Xfi with latest drivers & alchemy Core 2 Duo @ 3.2ghz, 4GB ram This never happened to me in original BS as well. EDIT: My problem seems to be with the Mission Editor. I do not seem to have this problem with any of the stock missions, but I get lockups all the time when I try to create missions with mission editor. Right now I have a mission created with nothing more than a FARP and some onvoys, no triggers or anything set yet and get lockups. Interesting. I'll try to pinpoint it and reproduce the problem.
  7. I would love to see a fix or upgrade to the sound engine, but it's been like this for...5 years or so? I'm pretty sure same problem will persist with A-10, I don't think it something they care to fix, otherwise im sure over half a decade they would of done it by now lol
  8. This problem has been around since the original lockon, its a problem of the engine, it'll never go away (atleast I doubt it.) A fix for this is realteks 3d sound back or if your using creative card, use creative alchemy. It's a problem in Vista & Win7. You can use search to find info on this, lots of threads.
  9. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This fixed my problem 100% I can actually fly without fightning my stick 110% of the time! Woooo :) Here is a track with it working with FFdisabled in producer.cfg. Just to give you a comparsion, you can view track in first post of it not working. You can clearly see in old track Trim would not "Stick/set". With FFdisabled, it works perfectly, as it should. I knew it was something so small I overlooked. trimworking_ffdisabled.trk
  10. If it matters, I am using a Saitek X52. A fresh clean reinstall of BS then patch 1.01. Same system, video card drivers, hotas drivers, etc pre-patch.
  11. Yeah, all my settings for the FMOptionst file are at default settings. I just cant seem to get my trim to stick, and im pretty sure its a really simple mistake im doing, but cant pinpoint it.
  12. Here is a track. Hopefully you can see, right on take off I'll fly backwards, not big deal. But then I re-land, and hopefully you can see....when I try to set trim, it will not "set". I try a few times, different ways. I also fly into the air and attempt to hold pitch forward with momentum to continue flying forward, but it wont hold. I can still fly, and corner, and land fine, towards end you can see. But i cannot get my trim to stick and I am fighting my cylic 100% of the time. I must be missing something extremely obvious but i have no idea what, prepatch I could fly blind folded (shrug) This track was with the default new trim on introduced in 1.01 trim_not_setting.trk
  13. EDIT: There is a fix for this now, it worked for me and others, credit goes to wombat Hi guys, prepatch I never had a problem with trim. I could pitch down my helo lets say 10 degrees, hit my trim, keep my stick there (ingame)...could go afk flying for 3min while grabbin a drink for example. Now, since patch I cant see to even keep my helo stable, regardles if I use new trim or have it unchecked. How can I go about setting it up for prepatch trim? I have tried to hit my trim, release button, center stick. I've also tried hitting trim, center stick, release button, and others.....but nothing working atm. Biggest problem is my helo will continue to pitch upwards extremely fast, and I can no longer do a controlled hover aswell. I am not quite sure what happened, but before the patch I could fly this thing with my eyes closed, I could do the loops, cruise around 5m above ground, land on buildings....and now i cant even keep it level.... Is there anybody with a track or FRAPS of the new trim system and how to fully utilize it, because apparently I am failing at it. I just dont get it, I went from flying it without fighting it, and now since patch I am fighting the helo the entire time, instead of flying and doing a mission. I would greatly appreciate anyhelp. I've searched, but cant find an answer specifically.
  14. Thanks for replies guys. Maybe within next week or so I can come up with some new missions or revise some current ones. I'm hoping this info will help others that build missions towards MP COOP or other types. I'm thinking of making some "quick action" type missions with quick flight times, close farps, and also put in some more realistic ones with longer flight times, avoiding threats, etc. Cheers for the replies!   15. Although this could be in mission section, its not entirely about a specific mission. This post is to help me, and others gather info on MP play, especially COOP. As this all relates to MP, I think this is right place. I have a few questions for all. 1. Do you enjoy coldstart, or engines hot. 2. Take off from FARP or start at an airport? 3. What is a "acceptable" amount of flying time to say your first hot waypoint?. 3A. 2-3min 3B. 4-7min 3C. 10min+ 4. Do you like having a FARP close to the action (a few min away from hot WPs) for fast refuel/rearm? 5. Do you like shooting hard targets (tanks, aaa) or prefer light targets (trucks and so on) 6. How many targets do you like? 6A. Enough to expend your load of vikhars 6B. Use all your ammo, rtb, and blow up some more. 7. Do you rather enjoy one or two waypoints with a vast amount of targets, or spread out through four or five waypoints, meaning you progress in the mission more. 8. If you play coop, what do you think is an enjoyable amount of helos to fly with? 8A. 4 8B. 8 8C. 12+ Just trying to gather some info, I'm thinking of making some new missions and/or revising some of my current ones. Would like communitys input. Any other things I missed please go ahead and say.

  18. Acedy, is it possible to setup a kick via usernames? I know you say in your readme its not part of it, because its easy to impersonate and they can easily change there name. But what I was hoping for is something along the lines of a kick only for "unknown" name. Not a kick right away, but say if one joins with this name, they get a message saying they'll be kicked in a minute, and then 30sec, and then a boot. As to not scare away true "new" players, they just get a notification that they'll have to input a name other than default. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
  19. This game seems to crash on a large variety of PCs, from just crashes to C++ crashes. I haven't been able to get it run stable on any PC I own for more than 10-15hrs of straight runtime. So if your on my server, its unfortunate that it will crash, but if I'm around I try to restart it asap. I've tried XP, Vista, different parts, overlockced, stock settings, various things, and its still an issue. Although it does run fine on my main PC, too bad I cant host in that one :P. Public open servers are rare, and I hope more will come out soon.
  20. If you could PM me the names of the players that caused the problem I will see if I can manually ban them, please send in PM and not in a reply. I run my coop server from my apt. on a spare PC, and use my own bandwidth as I love this game a lot I try to help out the community, I find hosting a 8 player coop with some fun missions is nice, a majority of the people seem to have fun on the server. Servman has helped a great deal in assisting in booting TKs, I have it setup to autokick on first human TK, and autokick on 3 friendly unit kills. A ban after 3 kicks. If this mod was not around, MP experience would be a good 10x worse. I hope they add Servman to the patch, its something that could of been released with the game, its that good. Unfortunately the PC i have the server run on crashes once every 10-15hrs or so, when I see it down I'll take that time to re-adjust the way people get banned/kick. I'll try to make it more strict, as every mission I have made/installed on the server there is never a single reason why you would need to shoot a friendly, especially a helo, if read the briefings. You can infact set it to autokick players with a negative score, having already set it to autokick on a TK and friendly units I had this disable, I'll check into this option. But anyway, for the most part it does seem like things run well. Heres hoping that ED adds something awesome in the patch to make MP more enjoyable especially when your just running a fun COOP. I'm hoping for an ID system or some other ways to ban, but thank god for Servman so far :). I'm also hoping for more COOP servers, I started mine as I found at times 70-90% of the servers are password protected, or they are team vs. team. I'm a big time fan of COOP and hope players enjoy the server and I hope we will see more to come from others.
  21. This would be great addition to Servman. It's only a matter of time, especially now that blackshark is retail, before we start seeing people with 30 vikhars, aim 9s, and all that crazy stuff. It happened in lockon, it'll happen in BS. I haven't see it yet on my server, but I'll try to watch when I can and report anything I can to you to help make a new servman to fix the issue.

  23. Mack, please refer to my post above. You just simple download the missions to your black shark mission folder, and then when you go to host a game, you simply just select the mission you want to play. There is no using zip, no extracting, nothing like that. You just simply download the mission to your folder and select it when you host :)
  24. Windows reads the .miz as compressed MIDI files, theres no unzipping needed and such. Just simply place them in this folder (if you have vista, XP is same, just not x86) C:\Program Files (x86)\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Missions\Multiplayer And as dusty said, simply select the the mission when you host from your multiplayer folder. Also, as far as servman, you do not need them to load missions. Servman is just a stand alone mod that helps run a "hands-free" server, with options to kick, rotate maps, etc. If your going to run a MP server, I HIGHLY suggest it! Great addon!
  25. It's fixed now, sorry for mishap. Hope you enjoy, and hopefully now that game has gone "retail" we will see more "COOP" servers. I enjoy coop more than pvp for some reason with BS.
