  1. I dont think its faster on the deck but I know for a fact that the MiG-29A is glitched as far as high altitude speed goes. Ive gotten the MiG-29A to Mach 3.3 before running out of fuel
  2. All I can say with certainty is that the fuel load is very very similar to the F16C and the only other factor that would determine range has to do with the engine efficiency. The F1 uses a turbojet engine that is quite different and less powerful than the F16s turbofan so at best I can speculate. either way the F1 has the option for some rather large external fuel tanks. Much larger than what the MiG21 can carry
  3. its longer than that for sure, according to some sources the F1 has similar range to the F16 (both on internal fuel only)
  4. I dont know, im re-doing the internal fuel calculations and its coming out to about 7250lb internal now which sounds more correct. All I know is that the internal fuel capacity is 4100 Liters (Im having trouble converting to lbs)
  5. F-16 I think is fastest, Viggen close as well but the Mirage F1 will not be that fast compared to those at low altitude, it will be faster than the F5 for sure but even the MiG-21 (if you dare) can go over 750knts
  6. I think it is faster than the MiG21 at higher altitude by a small amount. im interesting in the fuel economy of the jet. It's engine is very similar to the JF-17's engine (Thrust wise) and weighs a similar amount. It carries somewhere in the realm of 5100lb of internal fuel and the tanks it carries are quite large. hopefully the fuel doesnt burn up as fast as the MiG-21 goes through it
  7. as far as DCS goes i think ive taken the Viggen to over 800, I think
  8. I believe sheer speed was sacrificed in the development of the F1 to increase other flight dynamics. over the Mirage III the F1 could stall later, turn sharper, and takeoff sooner. Sounds like a good trade to me
  9. https://gyazo.com/d90edf5ba6cded62cab727a7ce800083 700knts on the deck not too bad
  10. They did use it and they are implementing it, the screenshot I posted is from Aerges. and actually this is too https://gyazo.com/cb7ec6a68cb788ca6fcbab13a4f69085
  11. I cant find a picture of the CE or BE with dual R530s but I suspect it could still carry 2 of them. Even the much older Cyrano II radar was capable of guiding them so I dont see why the Cyrano IV couldnt as a default feature. AFAIK the French F1 C-200s could carry 2 R530s with the same radar and only the Super 530 would require modifications This is a French F1C (not even the 200 upgrade)
  12. I have a collection of all the pictures that Aerges has released collected from various websites. as for Flare and Chaff the Spanish had that built into the plane, no pods needed. ill see if I can find you a Mirage F1CE with the duel R530s
  13. a full combat load that you might see on the Cold War server would consist of 2 R530s on inner wing pylons and 4 AIM9Ps on outer wing and wingtip. as well as a big 1200/2000l fuel tank on the middle. But R530s arent very scary missiles IRL so I wouldnt stress too much about it, I know how much you like playing on REDFOR
  14. Wells its not breaking the balance as the F5 is still the premier blufor fighter and i think the viggen adds some fun into the matches, I enjoy diversity and options as long as they dont impede the balance. I enjoy fighting them in my MiG-21 particularly
  15. I researched the plane quite a bit. CE has only gunsight, EE and M get HUD CCIP and CCRP i believe came with the Mirage F1EE and its radar upgrade CE has capability to use the R.530. I know much more if you have any other questions
  16. You did good with increasing the amount of RB24Js and the reason many viggen pilots asked for more is because they get 0 left after "some people" want to carry all 6 and then crash on takeoff... I play the MiG, F5, and the Viggen and believe that 60-80 is the perfect amount of missiles for the Viggens. it would be nice to place a 4 missile limit on a Viggen but ive heard that it might be hard to do thanks to the scarcity of good scripters
  17. How is development looking? is the early access for the Mirage F1-CE still on track for late May early June? still looking forward to a new compilation of screenshots/information Keep up the good work. Also here is a cool picture of a Spanish F1 with a Syrel ELINT pod and a pair of Remora jammers as well as a note on their effectiveness during a review on ECM used by iraqi F1s https://gyazo.com/fb1c191ea3f71fac8a5cd8228774cadc
  18. Well for whats its worth your server is fantastic and the community loves it. The work you've done is so far above of the standard for DCS Servers that its pretty amazing. Take your time and im sure plenty are willing to help you manage the server if need be.
  19. upon further thought, Im thinking I side with Alpen on his solution for which team to which the F1 should belong. But if we do see Super 530F missiles i think it would be fun to have a single mission in which the F1 goes to redfor as it was quite the formidable opponent for the F14 Tomcat of the Iranian Airforce. but obviously I think the amount of times the F1 should make an appearance on red should be kept to a minimum. also I know Alpen is wanting BLUFOR to receive some SEAD capability and I believe the Spanish F1s operated Syrel ELINT pods on their planes. this isnt the ideal SEAD solution but its better than anything the F5 can pose. lets hope this pod makes an appearance in game
  20. I havent read back on the forum incase its already been mentioned, but what are you thinking to do in regards to the upcoming Mirage F1, Alpen? Perhaps it would be fun to have it's team mission dependent and have it play on either blue or red. Do you think one side needs another Aircraft more than the other? Do you have any concerns on the capabilities of the F1 or do you think it will fit right in?
  21. oh, well yeah of course. but I just want to make sure Im one of the first to see it when it does arrive
  22. What do you mean by this?
  23. And yes I agree its naïve to be looking here every day, but this is just a great personal interest of mine. but I get what you are saying and why you say it.
  24. Thats a very fair statement. This is exactly why im looking for news and following this module so closely.
  25. Considering the F1 has been in development for 6 years and we are in the final months before its EA I wouldnt necessarily call this "Way too soon" I am simply letting the devs know how much I look forward too and appreciate their work. of course I do not feel entitled to an update or anything.
