  1. Is there any particular reason for these missile changes?
  2. Ive been wondering too but here is what ive seen from my digging on the Mirage F1 screenshots AIM-9 family, presumably the 9J, 9P, and 9 JULI. I think the latest demo video even showed AIM-9Ms Matra R530 radar missile Mk84 bombs, as well as the French family of free-fall bombs, I think the BR series? 30mm internal guns and 30mm gunpods, Mirage F1BE does not have internal guns really old screenshots even show the R550 magic, not sure if its been decided against for inclusion. I too want to see a proper list of the weapons we can expect. +1
  3. ive seen S-24s on the hind
  4. its also worth noting that the 19 is simply easier than the 21, easier to fly well that is. much like the F-5 is. the 21 is still the most capable fighter on the server but it requires lots of time to get good enough at it to use it proficiently whereas most F-5 pilots can just full stick back on most people and do fine. Curious to see how the F-1 stacks up. im hoping that Alpen decides to include the F-1 into the "F5 and MiG-21 take priority over all" if the F1 is comparable. which its looking to be, what do you think rossum?
  5. I agree with almost all the points you made, although I do consider the 19 to be a fighter on par with the F5 and 21. it has much more advantages than you stated such as acceleration, top speed off burner, climb rate, a MUCH better vertical performance, as well as its fuel economy being a significant advantage, allowing for much more time spent in a fight. but dont let these points take away from the fact that I agree with almost everything you said. especially that Alpen shouldnt stress on the F-5 vs MiG-21 while sidelining ever other plane. and I always see 21s on my RWR, people forget it has to be on "search" to see searching radars.
  6. How many Rb24Js are we talking about here? suppose its not too bad since the viggen can attack ships on the mission
  7. I doubt it, but that would be VERY cool, lots of great laughs to be had with refueling your friends
  8. Mostly agreed, but the R3S is so much better than the GAR-8/9B/RB24 that its crazy (in DCS, in real life you're right). it easily pulls 3 times harder and starts tracking right off the rail unlike the GAR-8. but yes your missile assessment is close. DCS likes to say that the RB24J is an AIM-9P, but they feel a little bit worse, but good enough, way better than the RB24.
  9. and hey, if they carrying 2 R3Rs, thats 2 less R-60s I have to deal with
  10. Honest as a mainly BLUFOR player, R-60s and R3Rs are fine. I enjoy having them in my match and fighting against them adds some fun. the R3R is a huge asset to REDOFR and soon BLUFOR will have some SARH missiles of its own, from my personal experience the R3Rs should remain on all your missions, the F5 has a fantastic RWR that people should probably pay more attention to. As for R-60s, while frustrating at times I believe they are acceptable, AIM-9Ps are great missiles that have a longer range, and a fantastic uncage feature with the ability to fire the missile instantly. For GAR-8/AIM-9B vs R3S. the R3S is far, far, far better. even the R-55 is better. for balance AIM-9P vs R-60 is okay, R-13M1 is probably a better fit performance wise but the lack of missile usage features like the F-5 has makes it harder to use (having to hold down the fire key and no uncage afaik) has anyone been complaining about R3Rs causing issues? on the matter of air to ground, the A-10 is slow and vulnerable enough to where the Mavericks seem okay (maybe limit them to the double or single rack if 6 is too many?) The viggen while VERY FUN with mavericks I can see as an issue once the Su-25T gets phased out, Rb05s are okay for most applications. If it could carry 4 this wouldnt be much of an issue lol
  11. Ill keep an eye out but ive noticed it happening more and more, especially when the server is fresh off a rotation or when the player count is low. certainly more common than it used to be EDIT: Went to go hop on just now, only BLUE are in F-14s
  12. Got it, Thank you! Btw Two Towns is the best mission Also we got to find a way to fix this player related issue, https://gyazo.com/edab16285dc66194f4ae4dcfc0565ff2 The big jets are fun when there is many people online, but this is just a chore man. 6 missiles, radar missile, an HMD, and infinitely better performance than what the core jets can offer, the 14 is guilty too but its a bit harder to use, no IRST, no HMD. i know you've thought about solutions to this problem before alpen, what do you think? I want to keep them around but I wish there was a way to keep them locked until the playerbase reached a certain size. Viggen vs MiG-29s is like a chihuahua (albeit a very fast one) trying to fight a pitbull. You can tell im a bit butt-hurt I suppose it should be worth adding that I do occasionally see players who join only to see if they can fly the big jets, and if they cant, they leave. and if they can, they normally fly them until they wreck them all and then leave. a few names come to mind with this "tactic"
  13. Got it, thanks! btw Two Towns is the best mission Something for everyone and a great AO with lots of landmarks. fantastic design
  14. my friend on REDFOR couldnt put missiles on his MiG-21 at the start of The Tunb identity, very start of the mission he spawned on Qeshm
  15. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=4537864796226946&id=594476197232512 hey! a new cold war plane (eventually)
  16. @Vibora As the Early Access is relatively close, do you think you can tell us what types of weapons/fuel tanks/pods we can expect to see on the CE for its debut? Im sure you have lots of fun stuff planned down the road but I (as im sure most people are) am interested in what we can expect to be included when we load in for the first time
  17. An important bit of information that people overlook is how much of a plane's thrust can be unlocked without burner (Mil-power) The F-5 can get 74% of its total thrust without AB F1 can get 70% of its total power without AB and the MiG-21 only gets 58% on mil still beats the Viggen's 57% though
  18. Keep in mind the Mirage F1 M-53 was competing very closely with the YF-16, it almost won but the YF-16 was better. it did beat the YF-17 though (This is called The Deal of The Century)
  19. I remember hearing from Aerges that the F1EE will follow a few months after the CE, and the BE will follow a few months after the EE. the F1M will be the last and take the longest
  20. on page 10 of this forum I went into some detail about it, but its pretty basic
  21. Mirage F1EE all came with Cyrano IVM, some F1CE's came with Cyrano IVM depending which delivery batch they were. group 1 only had standard Cyrano IV-0 Radar and no internal flares and chaff and no combat flaps. the CE we are getting appears to have combat flaps and internal flares so it might even have a IVM? unsure
  22. I believe the IVM was a monopulse doppler radar. this all depends on which version you're talking about
  23. Ive seen that the IVM has TWS but only in a certain limited mode (i forgot the name of it) from one of my Cyrano IV manuals. ill have another look to see if I can refind that information but it might take a while. keep in mind that even if it does have TWS it will resort to STT when engaging the target.
  24. id be a fan of occasionally having it fly on REDFOR in place of the MiG-29 but ONLY if its the EE version and it gets S530Fs
  25. someone correct me if im wrong, but the modern version should have RWS and TWS for air to air Air to ground ranging modes for CCRP and CCIP Sea Scan mode for naval targets
