Introducing FlightDeck: Alternative launcher for DCS

Hey guys, Apologies for not responding sooner. The Discord link is https://discord.gg/R57R5JaFsB -
## What does BNSG do? BNSG is a Mod for DCS that allows you to take control of the cruise missiles aboard your favorite destroyers and cruisers from the comfort of your ejection seat. ## Why did I create this? I have felt that the Carrier Strike Groups (CSG) have always been a bit underwhelming in DCS. Especially, seeing how they are used in Multiplayer servers. The countless times, where I have launched off the deck only to be immediately engaged by an SA10 or SA05 on the coast. The CSG, rather than a strategic asset, are simply resorted to a runway on water. With this Mod, I can fly, determine a location of those SA05 and SA10 and fire a Tomahawk without putting a plane in danger. ## How do I use BNSG? Using the communication menu... 1. Select "Naval Strike Group" * You should see a list of the available ships capable of launching cruise missiles 3. Select a ship from the list 4. Select `Check Status` to see the inventory and whether or not it is available for tasking 5. Using the F10 Map, place a marker with the prefix "nsgt" and a number for each target you would like to launch at. For example, `NSGT1`, `NSGT2`, `NSGT3`, etc * Default inventory is `22` cruise missiles * Default simultaneous launch capability is `10` 6. Select `Fire Cruise Missiles` to launch a Tomahawk at each of the markers you placed * A Time-To-Impact is provided to you every 10 seconds using the updated telemetry data of each missile in the air ## How do I add BNSG to my missions? BNSG has no external dependencies (MOOSE, MIST) so you can simply 1. Add a `trigger` on `Mission Start` 2. Add an `action` to `Execute Script` 3. Paste the contents of `bnsg.lua` in the script box * Alernatively, you can `Execute Script from File` but you will need to save the `bnsg.lua` file locally ## FAQ * Why are there no ships available on REDFOR? * Currently, no REDFOR ships are capable of firing cruise missiles * You are aware you can do this with Combined Arms? * Yes I am aware... ## Download links * You can get BNSG from the Github or from the ED User Files Note: I am very open to suggestions and/or ways to make this more usable so feel free to let me know below.

Feedback Thread - F-14 Tomcat update, August 9th 2024
Rinz1er replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
It seems as though the engines external sounds have lost all of it's low-end bass. Causing the jet to not match the other vehicles in DCS in its sound profile. -
Not that the F-14 carried it. But I could imagine a world where it would have carried this new AIM-174 (SM-6). Might be an easy mod idea?

Introducing FlightDeck: Alternative launcher for DCS

Hey! Thank you for featuring FlightDeck on your podcast. It means a lot to me truly! As for the future of FlightDeck, I do intend to continue to support and continue to add features to it even in the light of ED's launcher news. The question right now is whether it remains a launcher or if some of the other features will be broken out and expanded on like the kneeboard manager. -

I am excited to share a major update to FlightDeck! This update brings in the requested Startup tab to the launcher along with other bug fixes and visual improvements. You can read the full changelog here NEW: Startup Tab This feature allows users to add up to 10 paths and have FlightDeck launch them before DCS launches. Add things like popular external applications such as SRS, VoiceAttack, and SimShaker or even your own scripts. Configure a wait time after your app launches to give your app time to get ready (important for things like TobiiGameHub) Optional terminate your launched app after DCS exits Optional run your app as admin for applications that may require this such as SRS NEW: Optimizations FlightDeck will now do some common optimization strategies to improve your FPS and VR performance. Feel free to read more about it here. This is will be an ever-improving feature as I try to incorporate more complex optimization strategies. Thank you to all of the internal testers for FlightDeck! -

Having the option to remove the default kneeboards seems like good idea and a relatively easy thing to add to this. I will keep that in mind and add it to the list of future improvements. Thanks for the suggestion! Also, FlightDeck can make and launch presets in the way you described already. Cheers! -
Hello fellow Virtual Pilots, Just in time for the F-4 release, I am excited to share with you a project I’ve been working on: FlightDeck! If you’re looking for a streamlined DCS management experience, this might help! What is FlightDeck? FlightDeck is a drop in launcher for DCS that has additional functionality to make managing DCS a little easier. It allows you to easily organize and access your kneeboards, keep DCS updated, change graphics settings, and more. Key Features: Manage Kneeboards: Auto-detects your installed aircraft to allow you to drag-and-drop your kneeboards from places like discord, into the proper locations. You can remove and reorganize them too. DCS Updates: Keep both DCS and itself updated. Whenever there is an update for either one, you will be prompted to update. DCS Settings: Allows you to change any setting that would have required a restart had it been changed inside of DCS, this includes many graphics and VR settings. User-Friendly Interface: Intuitive and easy to navigate, ensuring a smooth experience from setup to advanced kneeboard and setting usage. How to Get Started: Head over to the FlightDeck GitHub repository. Read the FAQ to help answer any questions you may have Follow the installation instructions to set up FlightDeck on your system. Latest Release: https://github.com/Rinzller/FlightDeck/releases I’d love to hear your feedback and suggestions. Feel free to open an issue on GitHub or join the discussion here. This was it. I don't remember this being a thing in the JF a ways back. Not sure if this is accurate either, but thank you!

Hey, I am unable to designate or slew while the pod is in SP (Snow Plow). Has anyone encountered this or am I doing something wrong. Note: I can slew fine in SLAV

I have only noticed this in MP. In fact I just had this happen again tonight. From an aim7 launched by an F4. I have a track and a tacview but they are long (~50mins) where the only relevant part is in the last minute.
