  1. Hi there,

I've created a list of RWR codes, radar ranges and threat range/altitude for all Jets, Sam, AAA and Ships:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1acBsCd8hJvrrVb2SaIW4CaHbSx1JbvavbeeHVrpNJeg

The numbers come from my own testing, like for instance the red numbers for the SAMs: these are the ranges/heights at which you'll be safe (although range is subject to your speed/altitude of course).

Maybe someones else can use it too 🙂

I have it as a 2-page PNG in my Kneeboard app on a 2nd monitor for instance, that's why it's in a "dark" design...

    hf!

  2. I had an idea, and this workaround works:

-> when I rebind the Weapon Fire key from Space to something different (e.g. LCtrl + LAlt + Z), then it works.

=> some script/trigger seems to "block" the space bar; but not when enabling the radar, but after

"When you're ready, press the space bar to unpause the lesson"

After using the space bar to unpause the mission, you can no longer fire the cannon with the space bar, only with a different key!

  3. Puh... mission 09 is... tough.

Tried at 30k and at 500 ft; managed to evade a few missiles, but 2(?) Mig-31 just pack too many, so in the end - even though hugging the ground, masking behind hills and enabling ECM to further negate their ability to lock on did help a lot - I always get shot down.

So, now I tried going the other way: 60k ft w/ AB and gliding down on MIL power to 50k ft.

The Mig's never even managed to paint me. I'm quite the radar noob, having just begun DCS a few days ago, but was that because they had their radar at a more straight on or even lowered position? So they might pick up targets in front and below them, but not above?

@N22YFI've posted on the DL page: THANK YOU for these awesome missions!!! These are throughly needed, as the F-15C (being a fighter & a low fidelity module) is probably the best Jet to learn DCS (imho) and weirdly enough, there are no training missions from ED 😵

You can do this wit Flanker (Su-27 and Su-33 only!) and F-15C by installing a Helios 1.4, but likely you need a second monitor, or create your own profile.

    Overview of the steps(read instructions):

    1. download and helios 1.4 (1.6 is for newer!) https://github.com/BlueFinBima/Helios14

    2. download the profile and install it according to instructions: http://www.captzeen.com/helios/su-33.asp    http://www.captzeen.com/helios/F-15C.asp (read installation instructions carefully !!!)

    3. edit the profile with helios editor, so it fits your monitor configuration

    5. start the helios

    6. load the profile

    7. run DCS

I opted to import lua file instead of dumping everything into export.lua

    E.g. I did:

    local Heliosflanker=require('lfs');dofile(Heliosflanker.writedir()..'Scripts/Su27HeliosExport.lua')

No matter what I try, only the "LEFT_MFD" is displayed (as that is a DCS rendered viewport). Helios & CZ won't show the other 2 displays

  5. So, I've searched quite a bit; even combed through the various lua files in the game's directories, but I didn't find anything that would let me display instruments on my various LCD screens (= MFDs).

I've setup my Monitor lua file for my main monitor + 3 MFDs.

Side question: is it better (performance wise; it shouldn't matter, but who knows...) to setup the displays like this:

    setupA.jpg

Or like this? (less wasted space)

    setupB.jpg

Anyhow, what I'm looking for are the "special variables" like...

    • LEFT_MFCD
    • KNEEBOARD
    • F14_HSD
    • F14_VDI

... or any other way, so that I can assign instruments to the LCDs the way I want.

For instance, on the F-15C (Flaming Cliffs 3 module), only my left LCD is displaying a screen (VSD)

    F15C.jpg

What are the variables for the other screens/instruments, so that I can display them onto the LCDs? Like with the F-15C: MPCD and TEWS.

    Thanks,
    Hotshot

  6. Sorry if this post is in the wrong thread; I've searched quite a bit, but as this is not a single-plane-question, but a DCS one, it should belong somewhere to "DCS World"^^

    Here it goes:

  7. So, I just wanted to add: as posted earlier (https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/274752-cubesim-protection-of-money-just-a-heads-up/?do=findComment&comment=4811227), I've waited about 7 months.

But the screens did finally arrive!

Granted, I had to pay another 120 fucking Euros in fucking import taxes (bloody hell!), but at least they're here and seem to be working (haven't had any luck with drivers, so they are still unrecognized in the device manager).

So yes, CUBESIM is the real deal and not some hack. His "fame" just seemed to take off after some YT reviews and Reddit posts and so he had WAY too much success, so his backlog is intense.
