Do I Smell Rice Pattie and Gun Powder And GOOD MORNING VIETNAM
Presidium replied to DishDoggie's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Helicopter Pilot in Vietnam 1. Once you are in flight, it is way to late to wonder if this is a good idea.. 2. It is a fact that helicopter tail rotors are instinctively drawn toward trees, stumps, rocks, etc. While it may be possible to ward off this natural event some of the time, it cannot, despite the best efforts of the crew, always be prevented. It's just what they do. 3. The engine RPM and the rotor RPM must both be kept in the Green. Failure to heed this commandment can affect the morale of the crew. 4. Decisions made by someone above you in the chain-of-command will seldom be in your best interest. 5. The terms Protective Armor and Helicopter are mutually exclusive. 6. Sometime being good and lucky is still not enough. 7. "Chicken Plates" are not something you order in a restaurant. 8. The BSR (Bang Stare Red) theory states that the louder the sudden bang in the helicopter, the quicker your eyes will be drawn to the gauges. The longer you stare at the gauges the less time it takes them to move from green to red. 9. Cocoa powder is neither. 10. Nomex is not fire proof. 11. In helicopters there is not such thing as "a good vibration". 12. A free fire zone has nothing to do with economics. 13. The further you fly into the mountains, the louder the strange engine noise becomes. 14. "Pucker Factor" is the formal name of the equation that states the more hairy the situation is, the more of the seat will be sucked up your butt. It can be expressed in its mathematical formula of S - (suction) + H - (height above the ground) + I - (interest in staying alive) + T - (number of tracers coming your way). 15. Running out of pedal, fore or aft cyclic, or collective are all bad ideas. Any combination of these can be deadly. 16. There is no such thing as a small fire fight. 17. Always make sure someone has a P-38. 18. While the rest of the crew may be in the same predicament, its almost always the pilots job to arrive at the crash first. 19. A billfold in your hip pocket can numb your leg and be a real pain in the ass. 20. Share everything. Even the Pound Cake. 21. It does too get cold in Vietnam. 22. If something hasn't broken on your helicopter, it's about to. 23. Eat when you can. Sleep when you can. Visit the latrine when you can. The next opportunity may not come around for a long time. If ever. 24. Boxes of cookies from home must be shared. 25. A standard opening line for Army instructor pilots instructing on helicopters in the 60's: "There are 25 instruments in front of you, and the only one you can trust is the clock". 26. Hovering ..is for people who love to fly helicopters but have no place to go! 27. Flying helicopters isn't more dangerous. Crashing them is what's dangerous, and it just happens more often. 28. During autorotation at night, turn on landing light. If the terrain looks unsuitable turn the landing light back off... 29. The purpose of the main rotor is to cool the pilot. Watch how he sweats if it slows down a little. 30. There are only two kinds of helicopter pilots: those that have crashed and those who are going to.. 31. Always remember that helicopters are different from airplanes. Helicopters are thousands of pounds of parts all flying in opposition to each other, and unlike airplanes, they fly by beating the air into submission. -
Wooh! Such an incredible set up! I think I'm in love! As you said "Probably the closest I'll get to flying the real thing." Good job buddy!!!

It's funny, when I was drafting some ideas for "I LOVE THIS JOB", one of them was a police-medical-ambulance service. And one of the tasks was pick up an injured helicopter pilot in the Handy Winds ship... and then I realized that you already made that in your "Hell of a day at sea" mission! I'm working on the last mission right now, but there's still lots of work to do. I have to re-check everything: radio communications, bugs, translation errors... etc. I have a great respect for law enforcement officers, and this is my small "tribute" to their work and dedication. I'm trying to do something a little bit different, innovative and of course fun. There will be 3 different difficulty levels to adapt slightly to any flying skills, and the mission it will be available in English and Spanish. When I started, I thought it was going to be a little bit easier and less time-consuming. But I'm seeing that I was wrong: making a mission is hard work. Hands down to all mission creators out there Thanks for your interest gentlemen and I will keep posting more info ASAP!

Better Smoke V22 for DCS 2.9
Presidium replied to Taz1004's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
For me the option in the ME works perfectly... (Just keep in mind that you cannot change the density of a smoke that is already on fire. You have to stop it "SMOKE EFFECT - STOP" and then start another fire with a different density.) -
T-H-A-N-K Y-O-U again for your work and magnificents mods, I love your Caucasus tree mod and this one is excellent!!! Thanks buddy!!!

Are there any helicopter Campaigns planned or available for Syria map?
Presidium replied to toby23's topic in DCS: Syria Map
If you are not a fan of combat missions and you love the Huey this one could be for you! Because: it's a civil one and it's in Syria. It's still work in progress but I'm working on it! More info at: http://www.gamesfromhell.com/DCS/ -

Presidium replied to Presidium's topic in Mission Editor
A really **BIG** Thank You Sedlo!!!! That's perfect!! I truly appreciate your help!!!! I'm working on a civil mission for the Huey, it is called "I LOVE THIS JOB". Still got a lot of work to do, I hope it will be something completely new and very fun to flight (trying not to sound too arrogant here). Let's see if I get it right. Again: thanks buddy, I appreciate *A LOT* the sample mission you posted!!!! -

Any way to know if the COMMUNICATION MENU key has been pressed?
Presidium replied to Presidium's topic in Mission Editor
Nope, it's an IN-GAME (in cockpit) image. I used the "PictureToAll" command in the ME to show it. -
Hi there! I'm working on a mission and I would like to know if there is a way to know if the COMMUNICATION MENU key has been pressed. I look around in the forums but I can't figure out how? I am asking that, because I have an image on the right upper corner of the screen (just where those menus appear), so I would like to hide the image if the communication menu is on. And restore again, once the communication menu has been closed. I know that I can use another place for the image, but the upper right corner it's the correct one (I'm flying a huey, and that's the best place for those images) Thanks buddies!
