  1. Wow- the CDU is more of a smartass than I am :)
  2. waypoints can be created as mathematical 3d points in the sky, just go fly a gow mission and see.
  3. Try Falcon BMS dude... That has a realistically modelled Sniper XR... VERY realistic in fact...
  4. Eddie. which book do you speak of? Seriously.
  5. Really ED, why can you not answer the question of what DCS: Fixed Wing US aircraft will be? I mean really? Can you at least tell us the two or three or four aircraft that you are looking at? By the way, for all you F-14 fantasizers out there, the f-14 is a "variable-sweep wing" aircraft that does not count as fixed wing, just sayin' ;).
  6. Yes, thank you! Is it in the cockpit anywhere?
  7. I think so, but where in the cockpit is it? here, look at this vid and go to 3:45 to make sure we are on the same page Thank you for your help.
  8. You mean the "P" switch, correct?
  9. Will we have the sadl interface for JTAC? That way we could run the system and replace the questionable AI JTACS with human ones.
  10. P-51 mustang, that relates to an F-15E very well!!!
  11. Oh, sorry, just found your key command, and it is not the one I'm looking for. It is mentioned in the producer's notes by wags, where he cages the shkval line of sight back the the aircraft boresight position. It doesn't have anything to do with the gun, just the shkval.
  12. "P", ok, and the switch is on the IT-23 panel, correct? Thank you for the answer!
  13. Sorry for the question, but how is the shkval sensor caged back to the boresight position after being uncaged, but without resetting the entire targeting system?
  14. Yes, right
  15. Interesting... Something a study sim should pay attention to...
  16. Ok for all those with compass issues, take a look at this compass rose http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Windrose.svg print it out or view it on an iPhone or whatever, and look at it from an angle. Think about it literally, don't let your brain filters filter it or anything. This explains the crosses being close together and short And everything.
  17. Already did this, it didn't work
  18. Could someone explain that north cross more to me? I don't get the ground plane concept exactly. And why is the east/west line almost parallel with the north arrow?
  19. Think of the GUI music. It calms me down ;)
  20. Why all the talk about auto hover! It is good for, say, MP missions where you you just want to D-link targets to your flight and receive incoming data, but for combat situations, when you want to waste your main-tank killers, 9A4172 missile, take cover behind a hill and shoot from there. You are really close to the hill, so you can use that as a hover reference, and remember, gentle control movements, and when first getting into the hover, HOLD DOWN THE TRIM BUTTON! YES, I SAID IT PEOPLE! HOLD IT DOWN. It is a much more natural method of flying the aircraft, and is better than individual presses because you are fighting the aircraft when you do this. The "jump" that occurs when you trim is due to the fact that the AP is pulling in one direction, and you are pulling the other, so when you reset the AP, you are releasing the aircraft from the AP pressure. When you hold the burtton down, you are still flying with dampers on, but most importantly, you are not fighting the aircraft. This is the key to landing on runways, FARPS, destroyers, and making accurate rocket and gunpod passes.
  21. Could someone post some pre-1110 tgp pics and some post 1110 tgp pics side by side, or are they available somewhere?
  22. Popping smoke for self defence.
  23. Use at 1800 HOF and above!
  24. Ach... I got it, and it served me well for a year, and one day, the throttle's lights stopped lighting up. Make sure you get the latest firmware, man! I didn't, and now I have to send the throttle back to france or wherever to get replaced! Everything else is pretty great by the way, it is definitely worth the 600$.
  25. various sources, hmm?
