  1. Play SAM Simulator and you will understand my request very well. In that game there are the skilled and the unskilled, those who can keep their radar off the last minute before firing, and those {me} who can fire without a radar on! If you forced sam operators in DCS to do this, it would create a much more realistic environment, a much more challenging time for a prospective wild weasel aircraft pilot, and most of all, it would be more fun. It is not just for nerdiness' sake!
  2. The integration with sam simulator would take work, it is coded in visual basic, I believe, but it could be possible.
  3. I know that CA will not simulate the AA units and ground units at first, and just be an tactics sim, but there should be future plans to flesh out interiors, not with gamey radar scope MFD thigamajiggy things in the corners, but for example a gunners station simulating sights, different radars, different engagement modes for radars, etc. They should be done one by one, either by a third party developer or by ED. I don't know if it would be all that fair to have a gamey Tunguska that is just "Point and Shoot ," but the real deal, as this would not be fair to the A-10 or black shark pilot or P-51 pilot it is trying to shoot down who has to flip switches and check different gauges before he can squeeze off even one round of ammo. for fairness' sake, it should be done, at least. PS. The Tunguska gunner's station does actually have all the things I mentioned, and the commander's station has some of them as well. It would be just like a two-seater fighter, just without the flight model ;)
  4. I mean in DCS.
  5. I think we would all love to see a SAM with interior fully fleshed out and study-sim level.
  6. I think CA is great, but as my violin competition adjudicator said about my playing, "Don't stop here, you've done great, but you need to go further with this." I think CA is great, but only if Matt & gang ;) keep on upping the realism of ground units from here. Look at what the ground AI does now, and look at SB Pro PE. The motions need to be more fluid, and the ability to find hull down positions automatically would be awesome as well, which brings us to armor, simply put, having different values for front/back etc. is nice, but you need to push it further. Have different values for things such as the gun mantlet, the glacis, etc. The ground AI took a big step forward with DCS A-10C with the smoke and the displacement (or was that black shark?). Keep going! Make tactics more individualized, and less group based (At least for NATO forces). This would result in more interesting battles A-10's and black sharks as well. I'm not saying to implement any of this in the first release, just incrementally. Thanks again for CA.
  7. Hi when I drop CBU-97s, they always seem to land a bit short of the SPI, even with DTS as elevation source. What option do I need to set to make this right? This seems to get worse as altitude of the target increases. I'm flying 1.1.1.1.
  8. Still 15, these years are passing too slow!
  9. FSF sounds good
  10. O.K, sounds good, thanks!
  11. Hello, I am looking to get started with DCS A-10 multiplayer community. I want to know where I can find a casual, non-commitment server or something of that nature without getting to involved in a squadron or a group that requires commitment. I had a very bad experience recently with units in Steelbeasts where a certain memeber that was a part of my "Division" got into a disagreement with another member that got a little too serious, and now the environment is too tense, argumentative, and hostile to have any fun. I just want to avoid that happening again-thank you
  12. Y'all suck ;) DCS: Tornado IDS all the way. Seriously, the older versions of the fighter shouldn't be classified, and the European aircraft would go nicely with the US and Russian aircraft. Anyways, that hope is gone, now that the upcoming aircraft is only going to be narrowed down from DCS: US Fixed Wing aircraft. If I had a choice of American aircraft, I would pick an aircraft that is fairly well rounded, not CAS or A-A specified, and not something modeled to utter death, the F-16, ruling out that, F-15C, F-14, (It is swept-wing anyway). The F-15E is too classified, along with the F-18E, so my best guess is... F-18C Hornet, some old avionics but still a good aircraft. However... no one knows if ED has another contract...
  13. It's easy, I've done it!
  14. Wow, I mean wow, that city you have is amazing, it's better than Arma2's Chernogorsk, it reminds me of the New York City skyline.
  15. Oh man, I was hoping for a Hornet of an Eagle or something... Well, someone can make an AMRAAM mod for P-51, riiiiiiiight? ;)
  16. Yeah seriously, what is "DCS U.S. Fixed Wing aircraft?" The only reason you're keeping it a secret is for suspense, right? could you please reveal it or at least give a date for when you plan to reveal it? Thank you.
  17. NATO killed a mig-29, it is the other way around. NATO also killed some other Migs in some other engagements as well.
  18. Two aircraft were lost in 1999, a f-117 and an F-16C, nothing more.
  19. Makes me wonder what the Russians are doing for the Havoc. Last I heard they were mass producing the Mi-28N. Impressive chopper, but not the Apache Longbow, or the Longbow block 3 by a long shot. I remember the Swedish rejecting the Longbow as an attack chopper because of its inability to fly in cold weather for extended periods of time. This new block iii engine should be able to handle that easily.
  20. OK, America lost an RQ-170 drone aircraft over Iran. Great, let's get on with our lives now. It still amazes me that there are some people today that try to rub in my face the fact that we lost a single F-117 in 1999. Notice that these are some of the same people that state 9/11 was a conspiriacy. Just saying.

    Rowing

Does anybody here row as a professional sport? I just started, its a very fun thing, but takes a lot of hard work. Reply if you do row or are a rowing fan or whatever.
  22. Wow, you see this GG, they shot down not only a F-117, but a B-2 as well. Seems that Iran Defence forum has got some super interesting stuff cooking. Can I get that part of the wing from the B-2 for Christmas, pretty please!
  23. Listen, you want evidence, I got it. First, you claim that the F-117 was shot down by a VHF radar detecting it. Well, the mere fact that you are boasting about one aircraft shot down is besides the point. NATO's strategic objectives were met, period. Also, if the SAM Simulator by Hpasp, from Hungary, disproves this point, because in the sim, in the "1999" scenario of the SA-3 vs the F-117, simulating the firing battery that shot the nighthawk down, the VHF is able to detect the F-117, at about 5 KM from the site, and the aircraft itself passed by at the closest point from my site at ~.5 KM. Second, you claim that the map on you bogus "Iran Defence" forum is actually true. More about the EA-6B pilot. I interviewed him for a "Field study" for one of my summer projects. My project was about the "Psychological effect of war on humans." When i interviewed him, I first started by asking him about 1991, he jumped to 1995 and 1999 without hesitation. I didn't even need to ask him. He described 1999 as an event that he didn't participate in, but heard a lot about this from his air force friends. He told me that they lost two aircraft to enemy fire, no more, no less. I didn't notice anything subtle or something in his eyes for 1999, and I knew that he was telling the truth. The interview didn't sound like a prepared propaganda advertisement either. There was nothing robotic or rehearsed about the way he sounded, so there's no conspiracy. And by the way, if you still believe in that "IranDefence" forum, let me tell you some recent news that most people have heard. Serbia is now a democratic country, along with all the other former FRY republics, and the FRY itself is dead, along with Slobodan Milosevic. I'm sorry, but who won, again?
  24. I can not believe this BS at all. I may not have been there my self, but I can tell you, READ THIS TEXT SLOWLY... that I know an Navy EA-6B pilot personally. I know him through my mother, and I can tell you, he spoke about his 1999 experiences the same way he talked about 1991. If anything, he told me that losses were less than in 1991.
