  1. OK, so there is a way to sort of stabilize the mav while slewing, but it is not modeled currently?
  2. Ok, does it work during slewing? Thanks
  3. In the manual the listing for TMS left long is "Space stabilization." How is this different from ground stabilization?

  5. Hmm, planes don't use GPS to navigate directly anymore. The A 10 uses an EGI system, which is an INS, a pimped out gyroscope, pretty much doing automatic dead reckoning for the pilot. Initial alignment data is provided by a GPS, and error correction is also provided by the GPS.
  6. Well when you say to what accuracy, the MGRS coordinates go to 8 digits, which is a 10x10 meter box. This is only displayed to the pilot. Information for targeting the weapons systems is usually to a one by one meter box or smaller, which is necessary for GPS weapons targeting.
  7. Awesome, does this come with the typhoons for germany and other european countries?
  8. Yeah, IHADSS would be difficult to simulate. It would help to have a TrackIR in an apache sim.
  9. Why not the Longbow? It has radar, sensor fusion, ability to call artillery, all that cool stuff. Also, cichildfan, what do you mean by not being able to model the avionics on a comp screen? I think it would work fine, just some AI stuff that could be the issue. However, all that cursor stuff with the TEDAC in the front seat might be a bit odd, but the pilot's spot would work out fine.
  10. Yep, it has been cancelled a long time. Its purpose was a recon helicopter, but I think that the Kiowa Warrior + Longbow Apache is the same way of doing the job a LOT cheaper.
  11. The Pantsir can use the full radar system, but the Tungi guides missiles optically, and guides guns with a radar.
  12. Speaking of the Longbow, it is doable now to an extreme standard of realism, as most of you people have hopefully noticed
  13. *Sigh* they're much better pilots than I am, of course.
  14. I never heard about the Raio-Frequnecy guided TOW 2B. Thanks Invader. I guess that was built to extend range and provide protection from infared jammers like Shtora. Any version of the TOW is one of my favorite ATGMs, besides the AGM-65 series.
  15. Disable random system failures.
  16. Very powerful and sophisticated sonar suite... A lot of good if the weapons you use, mortars, missiles, torps, can't reach it. ADCAP is extremely long range, and a perfect submarine tactic is just sitting in front of the ship until it gets into range, no sound, nothing for the sonar to hear. Decoys are no match for the ADCAP's sensor package that has been upgraded 7 times. ASW combat is extremely complicated with things like thermal layers, CZ zones, and whatnot. I think a commander already having to worry about surface ships, aircraft, and whatnot would not be able to handle all of that.
  17. Have you heard of LRASM?
  18. Just because the Navy says... "TASM is out of inventory" doesn't mean that if it needed to, it could call up a lot of them, really fast.
  19. You all are talking about Ship v. Ship... All it takes is one Seawolf/Los Angeles class attack sub, one Mk 48 and one of the most impressive vessels in the Russian Navy is gone.
  20. SA-13 photos are rare online man, and I had to try to get to that photo, as well as the fact that I'm not a crewmember for an SA-13.
  21. NO. Having the shell in your lap before the gunner fires is taboo in the army, because if the round gets hit by recoil, or a flareback occurs, the round will go off like a grenade. You can still load fast without lap loading though.
  22. Hey, was leafing through the SA-13 strela manual and found a pic of the sight. I was wondering if you could model that? The circle with four lines is the sight's boresight, the circle is the seeker boresight ( to replace the horizontal bars ). The other black circles on the edge of the sight aren't pertinent to combined arms. The symbology is the same zoomed out and non zoomed out. ( The real thing has no zoom ). The three circles at the bottom are the missile seekers that are not in use ( no need to model ). And just in case you were wondering, the " Active " missile's seeker is overlaid on the sight's boresight when not in use ( "Caged" ). When the seeker is uncaged, it searches in circular patter ( maybe something else, I don't know ). The black circles can change color to indictate a seeker lock on, and therefore, readiness for launch. The color of the symbology is black, just as in the picture.
  23. first time 9 seconds, second time, ~10 or 11 seconds. Third time was one of the better ones, ~7 or 8. Yup, that averages to around 9 for all three times.
