  1. I understand what you're saying, but my 6900xt ran it perfectly smooth at the exact same settings. my 4090 should do better, not worse. I see the 4090 improvements due to the FPS numbers.. its something else causing issues.
  2. Just tried all those settings. Nothing helped. I can almost get Vr to work at 80hz. but then you can tell there a ton of missing frames, stutters quit a bit. At 144hz the stutters are gone but then it judders.. as If the 3d world is lagging behind. IL2 I can get to work at 120hz, every once in a while you can tell it still has an issue but not nearly as often as DCS. Probably due to DCS needing more resources. Not one of them drops my frame rate. ILS runs it at 120 FPS no issues and if I turn it to 140hz, its a solid 140FPS but.. dropped frames are causing stutters. DCS runs it at a solid 72 per eye which is 144hz but the world lags. Switch Bios to PCIe gen3, then tried Gen 4. Nothing changed. PBO mode to disabled then enabled. I don't know what CPU C-State is. My memory integrity was already off and I don't know what VMP is. Every time I go to look that up it comes up as VPN... (never mind just found it). I will try it later.
  3. HAGS is off. I don't know about the other two. ill check it out.
  4. Im having the same issue. My 2d games play perfectly. VR is another story. All I did was do a clean install on my windows 10 PC and built a new Windows 11 PC. My older PC that ran everything perfectly now stutters just like you said after the clean windows 10 install. My Windows 11 does the exact same thing. I believe its a Vr software issue and not the game itself. Either in Windows itself or Steam. I have been working with steam for about 2 months now and people on this forum. No one knows what's going on. I hope you get this fixed and if you do, please post it here.
  5. These are the spikes i get when in the lobby of VR steam. I have contacted Steam and they cant figure it out. But like I said, its happening to two machines.
  6. I will try that all today and get back to you. That windows 98 was a compatibility mode I just selected to see if it made a difference. I have two machines, one using windows 10 and one windows 11. I have a feeling this isn't DCS only. I have a feeling somewhere something isn't set up correctly. I have tried 3 clean installs with nothing else installed, just drivers, Steam and DCS. Used the keyboard to fly. Same results. Usually I figure problems out like this. Thank you for trying!
  7. Here you go.. hope you find something. I ran DCS again with the onboard GPU completely disabled. Didnt help at all. I went into STEAM and set the graphics all the way down to 50% just to see what it would do. Runs smoother. So I opened the performance tab. I noticed that at my normal Steam graphics settings, 100% for the DCS app and 100% for the Steam App, then set the sampling in DCS to 1.3, its doing something around 14-15.0 MS which is way above the 6.9ms recommended rate. At 50-% it drops to 6.0. Something is seriously handicapping my signal to the headset. and I tried a new headset. so its not the cables. Its something else. Its also not any of my PC parts because my other PC that used to run it smoothly is now doing the same thing after a clean install. thank you DxDiag.txt dcs.log
  8. I will attach tonight. and I will disable the onboard GPU.. its an MSI x670e MEG ACE.. motherboard. something like that.
  9. Thank you.. and yes, I have tried those. Game mode off and On. Power at Ultimate or something like that. but I have tried all power settings.
  10. Ill pay anyone $500 if they can figure out my issue. Just let me know what you need from me. Im tired of trying to figure this out without any success. Went from working perfectly to crap just by doing a Windows Clean Install.
  11. Yea, I figured this out when I noticed my monitor was running the program in 2D perfectly. I thought I saw poor performance when I was in VR and looking at the 2d screen. It was just showing the exact same thing Im seeing in VR. But this is now a VR issue. I even tried buying a new VR headset and that didnt work. I believe something is interfering. most likely a program. I have tried a clean install with nothing extra installed but the proper drivers and still had the issue. Windows issue? Im still trying to figure this out. upsetting!
  12. I saw this the other night. Ran Steam Vr and couldn't find Holographic Shell in the list. Im using the Valve index. But Im assuming its something like that. Something running when loading into VR. I am still having horrible issues with my VR. Solid high FPS but when rolling the aircraft the world lags. Cant figure it out. I have tried everything. Im hoping one day a windows patch fixes the issue. I even tried buying a new VR headset. Vive Pro2. That thing is horrible!
  13. I guess no one knows. One last question if anyone knows. Can you have a bad monitor which displays horrible ghosting and still have a Clear perfect VR experience.. This would let me know if its my monitor. Would hate to spend another $500 to find out. Either way, every single game seems to show judders if moving fast enough. DCS is by far the worst though.
  14. Ill try that. But I have a question. Could it just be the monitor?
  15. Thank you guys for trying to help me. Both of those suggestions I have tried but went on ahead and tried them again. No improvements at all. It seems like its a timing issue with the HZ. I have tried another monitor but no luck. If I drop it to 80HZ it seems to get better but then in stead of Judders, it stutters real bad. It acts like it wants the faster HZ. Like I said, its screaming at almost 200fps but the 3d landscape isnt being drawn fast enough. I wish the devs would read these and give us their thoughts.
  16. This is the only game/sim I play, so having issues is extremely frustrating. I have tried everything I can think of, I have tried reading everything i could find on the issue online. I have no clue what is wrong. I have two systems. One older, AMD 5900x and the GPU is a 6900xt. The system was running DCS flawlessly. In 2d and in VR it had zero issues. I dont know what FPS it was getting in 2D because I dont play 2D ever since I put a VR headset on. But in VR it was anywhere from 49fps to 72fps. I would run it on 144hz using my Valve index. I did a clean install because I built a new system: AMD 7900x and Nvidia 4090. I was going to sell my old system until I realized I was having DCS issues on my new system. I hope this isnt confusing. But once I realized I was having issues I thought I would reinstall DCS on my old system just so I could play it until I fixed my new one. Both systems now have the exact same issue. Both have extreme Judders in 2D. So I know its not VR. When I roll my plane you can tell everything gets supper blurry because the buildings look like they are stretching out until you stop moving. in 2d my new system is hitting around 200FPS with everything maxed out (this is consistent FPS too, so all these judders dont even show an FPS hit). I have tried all refresh rates from 60hz all the way to 144hz. I have tried Gsync on off, Vsync. I havent built a computer in 10 years. I have a feeling im missing something stupid. I cant figure it out. Both machines doing the same thing when one of them was running it smooth before I wiped it. The original machine was all up to date, Bios, Drivers. As far as I can tell I hooked it all up correctly. Someone has to have some kind of an idea what is causing this. I have done a clean install on both machines about 3 times, thinking i had bad files from downloading them. I have even replaced my Display Port cable. Tried running DCS before I installed any other software. I even tried a very old version of DCS. I run 3dmark and hit an extremely high score without issues. I can play Cyberpunk fully maxed out and its smooth. I appreciate anyones help. Thank you!
  17. Its posts and works great. I even got to 6000mhz. And just to try it to see if it made a difference, I only put two sims in. Same issues. Bottom line is, I believe its my CPU or Memory. It now know its not the motherboard or the 4090 GPU. Im going to rebuild my old computer using the 4090 and leave it alone since it works flawlessly. I appreciate everyones help. I will try the few things you guys have posted. But I have a feeling its something else that is screwing this up. I havent seen any youtube videos of DCS in VR running on a 4090 and an AMD 7900x. Im sure when I do, I will rebuild my new PC and hope someone fixed the drivers.
  18. You have stutters in 2d? I dont have any stutters in 2d. But I cant play it in 2d after using VR. I cant go back so I havent been able to play since the new AMD CPU came out. Im about ready to Go Intel and get the older motherboards and ram again.
  19. My old system ran DCS perfectly without any stutters. I had an AMD 5900x and a 6900xt GPU. I had 32GB of ram. When I saw new tech coming out, like the new 4090 and hearing how its going to be extremely fast. I figured I would dive right in and prepare myself. Firs the new AMD's came out so I got myself the 7900x. In order to do that I needed a new motherboard and new memory. I first bought the gigabyte x670 Elite.. Something like that. Gskill DDR5 6600 running 16GB x 4. Then I got the MSI Geforce 4090 Trio GPU. I noticed DCS would just stutter every 30-60 seconds. I tried everything. I tried lowering the HZ in Steam, tried closing all other running programs.. I even tried a clean install of windows 10. Then I thought, ok maybe its windows 10, so I bought windows 11. Then I thought, maybe its the motherboard since I cant put the memory into XMP mode. So I bought a different motherboard, the MSI x670 MEG. I spent a ton of money just to try and get the only game/sim i play to work. It runs, you can tell it wants to run perfectly smooth. I have everything turned up and if I dont do anything but look straight, its running at 144FPS in VR smoothly. THe machine is a beast. But when I turn my head, stutter, still at 144fps but that split second stutter.. I am also getting some ghosting when I turn at a high rate. Never had that before. I looked up everything on youtube, google search, steam forums and even here. I noticed that even when im in the Steam home screen i get these purple bars that come up on the performance graph. Yep, just sitting here doing nothing and I still get the purple bars which in the Steam Home screen causes the stutters. I have a feeling they havent weeded all the issues out with the memory and CPU yet. I feel like throwing my PC out the window! DONT UPGRADE to the next gen yet! Its full of bugs. If anyone has suggestions I would appreciate it. Maybe someone out there has a similar setup without issues or fixed these issues. Thank you.
  20. I almost got rid of all my stutters. I turned off DVR mode in REG EDIT (which is always on in Windows 11). I only have small micro stutters when looking right at a 45deg angle. Which is very strange and its not really noticeable unless I keep my head at that angle. Last Update: The 45 deg angle stutters was the position of my base stations. I now have zero stutters. Hope everything I posted helps.
  21. I tried looking everywhere, sorry if this is posted somewhere. What are the lines at the bottom in the new FPS display? I see a white, Green and Yellow. Trying to figure out what is getting spiked. Thank you
  22. Another update. Deleted everything Gigabyte installed and that didnt help. But I did mess with the Nvidia settings. Vertical Sync = OFF, VR pre-rendered frames = use 3D app (tried all other settings, this was the best), Low Latency = Ultra ( dont know if this helps, seemed too) Now I almost have no micro stutters.. Still there from time to time, but huge improvement. I also tried Motion smooth again. That took every single stutter out just has small graphic glitches mostly when in clouds.
  23. I want to add something huge I discovered while messing up my PC upgrade. I play DSC all the time. In fact its the only game i put time into. Old system. AMD 5900x : AMD 6900xt GPU : 32 GB Gskill memory. DCS ran smooth around 40 FPS consistently with Almost max setting at 2k in VR using Valve index. I bought a new motherboard, Gigabyte 670x elite, Upgraded the CPU, amd 7900. Everything still ran smooth got a couple frames better but not much. When the 4090 came out, I got one right away cause I wanted that smoother experience. Slapped that in and I got stutters. Micro stutters that bothered me and it was only when I looked left or right. Drove me crazy and I couldnt figure it out. I did everything. Reset Bios, Unisntalled everything including the video drivers and game. So I thought it was the PSU due to me having the minimum of 850w. I bought a 1000w MSI. The new PSU didnt help. So I decided to do a full clean windows install and start all over. Once windows was done I booted up DCS and it was full max setting at 2k hitting 72FPS no matter where I was and what map, It was smooth as could be. No Joke. never seen it run this good. This is where it gets interesting. I would fly maybe 3 times a day for the first day, Rebooting my PC and making sure nothing changes. Then gigabyte software pops up saying I need to update my chipset drivers along with a whole list of things to update. I wish I would have taken a snapshot but I didnt. I figured I am using gigabyte so why not. Before I ran the update I ran 3dmark using TimeSpy i hit over 30k points. Right after the update i was around 29940. I thought that I better check DCS.. Sure enough, those exact stutters came back. I am in the process of deleting all the updates and trying to pinpoint the issue. If I cant, then I will do one more clean windows install and start all over. Another strange thing I meant to add. Before the updates I was able to turn on Motion Smooth on the STEAM VR settings and it was working no problems. After the gigabyte updates, the Motion Smooth starting its normal choppy graphic crap. I will keep everyone posted once I delete all the updates and see if that fixes DCS.
  24. Just updated all the chipset drivers and now DCS is stuck at 72 FPS maxed out MSAA x4. The game is amazing! loving it.
  25. UPDATE! Im only updating this incase this happens to someone else. My mistake! I bought a new motherboard and was going to do a clean install. Added all 3 SSD cards and was ready with a one of them being a NEW SSD installed and windows on a thumb drive. but when I booted I forgot to tell it to boot using the thumb drive. So It loaded my original windows install on the new motherboard and everything seemed fine so I didnt bother with the new install of windows. Bought a new 4090 and was using an 850watt power supply. Everything worked great, even got extremely high scores on 3dmark. Cyberpunk ran flawlessly along with every single 2D game I tried. Even DCS in 2D was screaming with everything set to max running 2k I was hitting around 110-120 FPS. So I tried VR and I got micro stutters. I couldnt fix it, tried everything. I thought maybe its the PSU wattage so I bought a MSI 1000w made for the 4090. Hooked up the new PSU and nothing came on, only my ram LED lit up. I used all the new cables minus the SATA cables. I honestly didnt think those would be that much different. I thought maybe its the PSU. So I went and bought another one. Same crap. Finally took one thing at a time off the PSU and I found out it was the SATA cables. So I replaced them and everything booted up like it should. Loaded up DCS and still had the stutters. I was so frustrated and didnt know what else to do but do a clean install. The Clean Install did it! DCS is running amazingly well now in VR. Im averaging around 50-60 FPS with everything maxed besides the MSAA is set to x2 instead of x4. I havent tried x4. I know better and this should never have happened. SMH
