Im still waiting on my shipment. Ordered it right when they announced it but having gotten it yet. Anytime now.
-
Actually, when I selected MT inside Steam then it worked. I used to use an MT DCS icon on my desktop but it stopped working correctly and now have to open STEAM and hit play making sure MT is correctly loaded.

valve index here doing the same. extremely ugly and can't stand it.

Im having the same issue. I cant select any upscaling its all greyed out. Even though I probably shouldnt use it since im running a 4090. The AntiAliasing is all greyed out as well. The new shadows is also greyed out. Im not going to do a new install again. This is getting frustrating. Im doing a file verification on steam and see what happens. Maybe I will turn beta off and back on? I dont know.

Maybe its Valve Index. I get a new headset soon. Just waiting for the shipment to come in. I ordered the Bigscreen Vr. We shall see.

I know exactly what you are saying and thats not the problem. The resolution in Steam VR at 100% is sitting at 2016 x 2240. I pay attention to everything and like I said before, even my old computer is acting like my new one. They started doing the same thing after the Steam VR update back in October. I should be able to adjust all setting to hit 40fps. There is absolutely no reason to get stuttering at 40FPS. I know what some think, they are going to say you will if you drop the FPS below the HZ the headset is set up as. But this was never true and it never did that before at all (used to run 144hz at 40 FPS flawlessly). If I adjust the settings to 50% everything in DCS is extremely blurry! Unreadable dashboard. I remember exactly how to use to look and act. I could read everything in the cockpit, fly over any city, any forest area on any map and not one hiccup. My settings are no where near what they used to be and I can only fly two maps and if I fly over a city its unbearable. I appreciate you trying to help. But the only way to fix this is to get Steam to listen to us. I try telling them and all I get is a stupid cut and paste response.

It doesn't matter. But I have both Steam VR set to 100% and DCS set to 100%. I should still be able to adjust the settings as high as I want to achieve the FPS I want. If I want 45FPS, like I used too, then I should be able too. I can't. Im limited to 80hz and 80FPS. Anything below 80FPS and I get stutters. Never used to be that way!
-
No, but back in the day I could set my DCS setting to almost MAX settings and no stuttering at all. Hitting 40-50 FPS which is below 144hz and still no stuttering. I can't do that anymore. I now have to use 80hz and keep all my settings to hit 80FPS or I get horrible stutters. Steam changed something and I don't even think they know its not working correctly. Most VR games don't need this much power like DCS does or other headsets don't use steam so they don't complain about it. But in my opinion Steam VR is broken and they won't listen to me.

Might be a little long but please read. My issue is the fact that DCS used to work beautifully in VR. I know some say if your FPS drops below the selected HZ, example: select 80hz and if it fluctuates from 80-75 or lower, you'll see stuttering. Im here to tell you that is not how it used to perform! In fact, I used to use my Valve index and play DCS at 144hz while keeping an FPS anywhere from 35-50 without any frame drops, stuttering or jutters. Another thing it used to do, if I set it at 144hz, it used to divide the FPS showing 72FPS and now its showing 135, trying to reach that 144fps to match the 144hz. Which I can't so I have massive stutters. Again, in the past, I could run DCS fluently at 144hz but let it sit at 35-50 fps. this was on an older machine too. now I have to stick with 80hz. I have reached out to Steam because I honestly believe they messed up Steam VR with their huge update on October 4th 2022. The version 1.23.7 was the last time it ran correctly. I can't play most of the maps at all with the same settings I had on a slower machine. Even the slower machine now acts the same. If I try to Fly in Nevada near the city it just stutters horribly even on low settings. Steams response is a cut and paste telling me to send them my Comp information. Which I have done in the past for over a year now trying to figure this out. This came to light when I remember exactly when this all started. It started the day I got my new CPU and Motherboard, which was October 4th. im so frustrated. But the good things that have come through all this. I couldn't get MT DCS to work at all on windows 10, I recently switched to windows 11 and now MT works pretty good. It would have been nice to see what it could have done on a non broken Steam VR version. I wish I had more options to run these VR programs but I don't think I can using a Valve index. I think I will stay away from any VR that only runs on Steam. Current PC Specs: AMD 7900x Nvidia 4090 64GB SGSkill Ram 980 Pro 2 TB SSD OLD PC Specs: With the old Steam VR version this PC ran it twice as smooth! I could play any map fly over any city without one stutter! AMD 5900x AMD 6900XT 32GB Gskill ram 980 Pro SSD

I need help. Im using a Valve Index on Steam. I can't seem to lock the FPS at 60. I have changed the Lua file and the Nvidia control panel. I have tried selecting Vsync. If I select 80hz, its locked at 80 fps. Is there a way to lock it at 60 fps? Appreciate the help. thank you

MT: Steam will not launch MT version in VR (for Oculus Quest)
TKNARMZ replied to dutchili's topic in General Bugs
I tried it and when selecting MT it started my DCS in VR mode. I could tell it was working but made my VR experience far worse! Far more reprojection. I had to go back to normal. Just couldnt use it at all. Turn on your Steam VR performance display, that shows the FPS and the performance graphs. Without MT, my graphs are solid straight lines. With MT on, they are going crazy, no longer steady and like I said, the world stutters horribly. much worse than before. -
This is the same issue I have posted in a couple threads. I always thought it was a setting in windows that I set that effected all my games but now maybe its just DCS. You using Windows 11? I reinstalled Windows 10 and I can at least get a couple maps to run smooth.

DCS Judders on a machine that ran it smooth. Please help
TKNARMZ replied to TKNARMZ's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Update: Started over with Windows 10, clean install. I noticed Windows 10 just works so much better with VR. But was still having issues so I just kept researching. I found a few other people having VR issues with their 4090's. All complaining about the same thing but most with MSFS. one guy said that he set his headset to 90hz and locked his FPS to 45 and it helped him tremendously. So I set mine to 80hz and locked mine at 40fps. I can now pay most maps without any issues. Still not as fast as it was with my 6900xt though. its just acting strange if I play on the Persian Golf map. Hopefully the bugs get all worked out soon. At least I can now play. -
DCS Judders on a machine that ran it smooth. Please help
TKNARMZ replied to TKNARMZ's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Unfortunately no. I even ordered a new cable for the Valve Index and its doing the same thing. I wonder if Steam Vr keeps a online cache of your settings and im not getting a clean install. Even DCS support couldn't help me. They pretty much just said wait for the update that will help with multithreading. I appreciate you checking! thank you. -

No. I will double check again. But I do remember not installing a thing and still had issues with DCS. Its acting like the graphics are far higher than they are. -
DCS Judders on a machine that ran it smooth. Please help
TKNARMZ replied to TKNARMZ's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Update: After downloading FPSvr on Steam. Found out this is only a DCS issue I am having. And it is only in VR. Maybe someone can move the topic to VR issues instead of 2D. My reprojection is at 99% on the main DCS screen even before starting to fly. I test three other VR games, IL2 and Half Life Alyx. -
DCS Judders on a machine that ran it smooth. Please help
TKNARMZ replied to TKNARMZ's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I tried what you said. It did not help. This isnt just happening to DCS. All my VR games suffer right now. The photo I will add is from Steam at 80hz. I dont know what my ms should be at using 80HZ, I dont know what anyone else is getting but I think it should be lower. The lines you see, it stutters when those show up, as if frames are missing. Even at a solid 80 FPS. It doesnt matter, stutters. If I bump it to 90, more stutters than 80. Bump it to 120hz and no stutters but the world starts to lag. Wish I never did a clean install. something installed that is new, or a setting that changed when a new clean windows is installed. Thanks again. -

solved Stutters and jitters in VR with RTX 4080 and 5800X3D
TKNARMZ replied to Dentedend10's topic in VR Bugs
Since I can't figure this issue out at all.. I just found out another sim came out in VR that deals with F16s. Im not trying to promote it but that's all I got. I love DCS. I just can't get it to work correctly. Thank you for all your help! I appreciate it. Happy New Year. -
solved Stutters and jitters in VR with RTX 4080 and 5800X3D
TKNARMZ replied to Dentedend10's topic in VR Bugs
Im glad you figured it out. Im not at home to give this a try but I don't think this is my issue since I was getting the same problem without hooking any controls up. I am also wondering if you could give a complete detailed instruction on exactly what you did. I don't even think I installed SimAppro. The throttle works without it. I have my Thrustmaster throttle I could try. Thank you. -
solved Stutters and jitters in VR with RTX 4080 and 5800X3D
TKNARMZ replied to Dentedend10's topic in VR Bugs
I honestly don't think its your CPU. I think its a software setting or something running that shouldn't be. I have the same issue on TWO PC's. One brand new using the 4090 and my older one, using a 6900xt. The 6900xt has an AMD 5900 CPU which ran DCS perfectly with no stutters, or judders or any issues! not one. Then I did a clean install and bam.. Its running like crap. The NEW PC is doing the same thing. Its not hardware! Its software. I have done 3 clean installs on both my PC's with the same issue. Perfect FPS on both, but when you roll the aircraft the 3D world stutters, or lags, what ever you want to call it.
