  1. Hi, Just saying while we're testing I'd stick with the toggle by moving it to your slave. What you're doing should be working, we must be looking at an electrical issue somewhere. Do you have another Nano you can swap in to test? Can you upload photos of your master and slave so I can see physically who they are connected? Thanks.
  2. Hi Rightstuff, I've attached 3 versions to the original post. Embossed thinner text Embossed thicker text Raised Text < I find this easier to paint, of course can't smooth except with vapor smoothing. cheers John
  3. Hi, That code looks okay. To remove a potential wrong address issue with the an output can we move that toggle to the slave and test?
  4. Hi Tom, I'd say you could use the face plate, but you'd need to design your own mid section to mount the buttons, or could mount directly to the rear of the face plate.
  5. Thanks mate  Let me know if you have any issues with the jettison switch. The buttons are a pressure fit, they don't come out even if I hold it upside and try to shake them loose.
  6. Hi All, This is a partial update as I continue to build the UFC. I'm reprinting the front plate, the round buttons looked too small, I've sized them up by 1mm. The keypad square buttons are okay though. Vapor smoothed the sides of the buttons so they slide smoothly within the frame. Lettering is painted, again these are purposely upsized for VR. Lower Electronics box, I've got covers for the sides ready to be printed. Currently printing the upper electronics box. Nano slave, bus transceiver and 3.3V regulator to drive all controls. cheers John
  7. Hi, Yes the same as others, push-in button on the encoder.
  8. Oversized VR friendly inscribed buttons. They're currently on the printer, will be done by morning. I'll also build a standard set for non VR users.
  9. Thank you Lobinjaevel, I appreciate your comments! Fusion360 + 3D Printer, there is almost no limit to what you can do. If it looks good in CAD, and you know your printers strengths and weaknesses, the first print will also be good and you can move onto designing something else.
  10. Thanks Mr Burns!! Working on wiring up the switches at the moment. I'd like to have it working in some form by Sunday evening, back to work on Monday. :(
  11. Cheers RightStuff, happy to share! If you do see my Paypal address appear you'll know my employment status has changed. :noexpression: Yes an 8pos would improve the design as the selector gear would be larger. Locally there were no 45deg rotary's available so I geared it down to accommodate a 30deg rotary. If there's demand for it I can redesign for a 45. I've used 45's on my INS and RADAR controls. Waiting for the pull action on the RADAR knob to be DCS-BIOS controllable though. cheers John
  12. Anytime Gotwake, I'm happy to contribute anyway I can. :) When I finish my panel build I'll release them in much the same way. cheers John
  13. Hi Guys, I've created a new thread with build instructions. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3892785#post3892785 cheers John
  14. Hi, Attached are the STL's to 3D print your own F/A-18 Jettison control knob. I had sourced the push button locally, the rotary switch is standard (part #:A11205RNCQ) The push button I couldn't find on Mouser but I have attached the dimensions. Here's the link to the push button I've used. https://www.altronics.com.au/p/s1405-spst-mom.-solder-tail-pushbutton-switch/ Construction Details STL Files Jettison Control.zip Jett Selector Button with Text.zip Jett Control_MultiSelector Gear v1.zip Update: V2 Version using the more popular push button type: PBS-110 Mini Micro Push Button, red cap, on page 3. cheers John
  15. I can upload the STLs for my solution if you want to take a shot at getting it 3d printed?
  16. Hi, Can we start with installing and configuring a control directly on your master and see if that works? Also the master rx should flicker each time a slave control transitions, do you see that on yours? Your slave rx LED should be lit up constantly as it's receiving everything the master is putting on the bus. If you hold your hand on the master's reset pin the slave rx led should go out.
  17. The print has completed and all components mounted. Now need to print the buttons, knobs and display place-holders. Front plate temporarily fitted. cheers John
  18. I'll do my very best mate!
  19. I hear you MR Burns. I too have a cnc machine, not built by me, a cheap Chinese one. The biggest killer of creativity is cheap machinery/equipment. You need to focus on design and not on fabrication. 3D printing gives you a near perfect copy of your CAD model. If the printing process is reliable and results are of good quality all your energy can focus on creativity.
  20. Thanks Gruman :) It would be trivial to add screens, I've left enough space for them, the trick would be finding a screen with the correct form factor. As I'm 100% VR I'll be focusing my time and energy on the input controls. Once complete, as a side project I may go back and add displays. cheers John
  21. Hi, Unfortunately the Zortrax printer uses their own proprietary slicer which doesn't have that feature. It would prove useful here.
  22. 47hour print time :|, it is again max resolution due to the sloped section at the base. I don't want to have to sand any of this. I prefer designing thick sections that hold mechanical parts, it makes the whole unit feel more solid.
