That's the 'specular' map which I don't understand yet. We only got this feature recently with Dx11. Yes that will be something I will try and learn. Also the paint although there is undercoat, I think bare metal would look better. See what happens in the coming months :-) Mizzy

Yes thank you for feedback Kuky . Indeed the shot does not show the WIP of all the areas. Unfortunately the graphic repeats in some areas. It usually takes me six months to figure out a worn paint scheme and where best to wear it !!, I did quite a few when I was part of the 'Black Shark' Beta test mod team but it's been a long time now and haven't really done anything for past 5 years. I will release progress over the coming year. Mizzy

Maybe I need to reiterate from my first post, it's not finished (WIP) yes I already know the problems on the graphic that repeats on both sides, not much I can do about that apart from remove it. As for specular maps and such, again it's WIP. If you can see animals, any particular one you like most ? ok no problem but maybe this helps, maybe not :-) Mizzy

Depends on what module you buy will depend on it's fidelity. I assume everyone on these forums have converted to DCS 1.5 and 2.0 ? Mizzy

Most software I have bought has had constant updates, was it sold as a 'beta' product ? Hell no, it was sold a s finished but may have some bugs or features not working. They (ED and Partners) should stop being so honest and roll them out as finished but may need some updates. Come on people.. all software gets updates, some more than others and some are down right not finished and should never have been released in the state it was (Hawk) ! Mizzy

All it is, a toning down of the 'blue flush' look and contrast with sharpening a bit. Nothing major. I hope someone can give me the name of the person who did the 'black cockpit as I can't upload it until I do and he doesn't mind what I have done to it !! Mizzy

Yes, always take out all mods before an update or trying out beta software ;-) Mizzy

Here it is, for the person who asked where does it say 'open beta' Three options, 1. DCS 2.0 (Open Alpha) 2. DCS World 1.5.2 (Stable version) 3. DCS World 1.5.3 (Open Beta) Hope this clears up where the word beta comes from and what choice you have. 1.5.3 is OPEN BETA software. I think the person has deleted his post now but no worries. I have just checked, my 1.5.2 will now allow me the option to update as it didn't before, so apologies for that. I just clicked no to the update as I want to leave it as it is and happy with the separate install of 1.5.3 which states it is in beta. . Mizzy

I have DCS 1.5.2 working and it's fine, I also have DCS 1.5.3 Beta and i's ok at my end but no doubt there will be bugs. They are separate installs so as not to bugger up my 1.5.2 (stable version). Ok with me thus far ? I downloaded the new version (1.5.3) expecting it may or may not work as it clearly stated it's a beta release. So there you go, it's a risk to use beta software and you either take the risk or stay with what you know works. My 1.5.2 would not update to 1.5.3, ostensibly because it would make a stable version unstable. I had to get the beta 1.5.3 from the ED website to try it out, it had nothing to do with my 1.5.2 version. I hope this helps. Mizzy

Did you not see the word 'Beta' !! ?? I saw it and realised it was not a full working version and may contain some bugs. Best you read the tin before you use it....Just sayin Mizzy
