  1. If you turn off D/L you should still have the "auto" IFF active with LTWS, rigth? So there would still be a reason to switch LTWS on/off explicitly. Regarding declutter, I was of the impression that turning LTWS off deactivates data acquisition and processing entirely rather than just removing the symbology from the display. Otherwise, it would surely be called something like DCLT or the like. So still, there must be some disadvantages to having this turned on, otherwise, it could be "hardcoded" into RWS as said before and there would be not option to turn this off...
  2. I assigned the above-mentioned callback to one of the switches of my warthog. Using the warthog switch does nothing while in the 3D-Pit the switch is working (so it's not because I'm not in A/G mode or FLIR is off). Is the callback broken or do I miss anything else?
  3. Here is what I found only recently in another post. I hope it will make TDC easier to use: https://deltasimelectronics.com/products/thumbstick-slew-sensor-adapter Also, isn't there and option under special-settings to turn off realistic TDC so you do not have to hold down TDC while slewing?
  4. @silverdevil, @Swiftwin9s thanks for the quick answer and the hint to the video....
  5. I don't know if it is since this or another update but centering the TGP isn't working anymore for me. Cage/Uncage [C] was working for me before but when I use it now the FLIR camera display goes dark. Looking from the external view I can see that the camera of the pod continuously moves a little bit from left to right and back. Hitting [C] again, the FLIR display comes back but the position is still the same as before. Is this a bug or did the behavior change somewhere?
  6. I know it's already been mentioned a couple of days ago but I wanted to recommend the usage of VR again as it made a difference like day and night for me. I literally emptied a completely fueled F18 trying to connect to the tanker. My pitch and roll axes set up with 25 curvature beforehand. In a two hour session exclusively chasing the tanker I made two connections of about half a second, that was all I could accomplish. After using my Rift I needed exactly one attempt. That's how big the difference was for me.
  7. Hi, I'm having problems with loading into DCS a second time. Steps that lead to the problem: 1. boot my system. 2. start DCS / wait for the main screen. 3. exit DCS immediately again (because I forgot to start TrackIR for example). 4. back on the desktop I start DCS again. Now, the initial loading screens appear, so far so good. But by the time when normally the screen with the blue progress-bar would appear, nothing happens. After a couple of seconds, I can hear the background music that normally plays on the main screen but the screen stays black. The only thing I can do now is killing the DCS process and reboot my system. After reboot, DCS would start again. My first guess was that after exiting DCS the first time, there is still some DCS process running, that does not terminate correctly and prevents DCS from start again but I can't find any process that seems to be related to DCS. I am using the latest open beta. The problem exists at least since two or three updates. Any ideas? regards Christian
  8. thanks for the replies. i am aware of the fact that compatibility between steam and ED _KEYS_ is no more since the Mirage-2000, at least atm. but it was stated somewhere by wags i think, that all modules will be moved to the new system eventually (earlier or later). hence my question: will it be possible some time in the future to use it on steam AND standalone (even it is not possible now) without buing the module again.
  9. since the new AV-8B Harrier module is protected by the new account binding method and not by a key, is it possible to run this module if it is purchased on steam today also in the standalone version of DCSW. If it is not possible today, will it be possible some time in the future?
  10. same here - TacView - Special page is blank for me in 2.2
  11. Thanks for the the help. I did some tests after making the above mentioned change to the mission-file but the results are similar to that was shagrat described. I created a 2-ship fight, in mp lobby i manned both flights with realworld network clients, but in-game one of these flights was then controlled by AI. This client was not disconnected completely. I was still able to use the F2- and F3-keys to view the airplane. The other network-client worked without problems.
  12. the title already contains my question, here are some additional comments on it: I know a little bit about mission-building in Falcon BMS 4.32. Here, when you create a mission, you simply set the number of planes a flight is made of. Later, this machines can be either populated by real world players or will be controlled by AI. In the DCS-world, it seems so that the only solution is to create a one-ship flight and copy that flight for every human player. At least that's what I found in the forums. But why is this so cumbersom? If one changes anything, it has to be done mulitple times. I really don't know very much about mission building yet but I could imagine that one could get confused quite fast with keeping track of the callsigns, flight numbers, flight frequencies etc. In BMS, being a member of a flight or another also affected the symbology of the HSD for example. how is this solved in DCS? (I do not own each DCS-module, so I don't know if there is actually any aircraft-system that would implement a datalink like the one of the F-16 mentioned above) Any clarification on this topic is appreciated! Thanks and regards Christian
  13. But if I do it this way, I still have multiple flights with multiple callsigns and if I want to change a waypoint or weapon loadout later on, I have to do this multiple times. Why isn't it possible to simple have one n-Ship flight (n being 1,2,3 or 4) where every machine can be manned by a human pilot or by the AI if no human pilot is available (the BMS way)? Additionally it would be nice to have the possibility to quickly change the # of machines of a flight in the briefing or in the lobby without having to edit the mission. This way one could quickly tweak a mission depending on the # of available human pilots.
  14. I have filed a couple of tickets to get new serials for bs1 more than three months ago now (14209 15502 15991). I didn't get an answer to this day. Slowly I doubt that there is anyone working with this ticketing system at ED. Right now I only feel helpless and angry because of this. Am I blacklisted for some reason? Is this ED's way to say "thank you" for buying all their stuff? I just want to play bs2 (upgrade) since july this year. We are talking about 30 digit code, nothing more. How can this take so long? This is really ridiculous! Anyone else having similar problems?
  15. it's been now over a month since i first asked if my bs1 activations can be filled up. in some threats in this forum, to the question "why bs1 has limited amount of activations?" a common answer is "it hasn't, activations will be restored by ED when you need it" - well, that seems to be plain wrong - at least the part "when you need it". i needed it a month ago at the beginning of my summer holidays. now they are over but i thought i better start early to once againg bring attention to this issue to make sure that maybe on chrismas holidays this year i am able to use the program i purchased a long time ago. From many posts from ed-moderators/testers/representatives? i read in this forum i understand that the team is working hard on ticket backlog as well as on the new products. but i think this is a little bit unbalanced. if you treat all of your clients like this/me it is likely that in the future there will be no more buyers for the new products you working so hard on. i was even willing to spent yet another 20 Euro to convert the bs2 upgrade license to a full bs2 license in order to get rid of this problem with the old star-force drm which is used in bs1. The answer was: file a ticket. Well, i haven't done this yet in fear that will move my already open ticket further down the list. for now, is it possible to at least get a status information from an ed-rep for my tickets (#14209/#15502) and if it's worth to create another ticket to get an answer to this upgrade question without getting downgraded on the waiting list?
  16. bump
  17. that was quick! - Thanks! I'll try when i get home...
  18. i assigned the 4 trim-functions (up/down/left/right) to the povhat of my cougar (rest of the config is default) and i can even see the hat in the 3d-pit moving when i use the trim but is has absolutely no effect on the aircraft, no matter how long i push the povhat. i already searched the forum and found some threats about how trimming influences the sticks centerposition and so on what causes me to believe that it has something to do with force feedback. is this the case? do i have to deactivate ffb somehow to make trim work or is there something else wrong with my setup?
  19. can i get an answer to this question, please?
  20. i posted this already as a reply in another thread. it wasn't answered so i created this new one: i am waiting for new activations for bs1 since july 17th (tickets 14209, 15502) just because i want to activate DCS-W bs2 upgrade module. my tickets have not been answered by now and im getting a little bit annoyed and angry now. i purchased every single product ED sells and would have no problems with DRM as long as it doesn't prevent me from actually using the product which isn't the case here. one last attempt of mine to get rid of this annoying start-force problem with bs1 if it isn't possible for you to provide me with new activations for bs1: is it possible to change my upgrade license to a full bs2 license by paying the price difference so that i don't have to install / activate bs1 to be able to activate DCS-W: bs2?
  21. i am waiting for this refill for bs1 since july 17th (tickets 14209, 15502) just because i want to activate DCS-W bs2 upgrade module. is it possible to change my upgrade license to a full bs2 license by paying the price difference so that i don't have to install / activate bs1 to be able to activate DCS-W: bs2?
  22. i don't need much ports. one additional port for mfd export would be enough. so i can go with any recent card. my only problem is the fps-drop when running windowed. you guys talking about 6XX cards, mine are 4XX. is there a possibility that newer generation nvidia-cards handle this issue better that the older ones (besides being faster in general)?
  23. somewhere in the BMS-forum i read that NVIDIA-cards suffer from a much greater framerate-drop that ATI-cards when going into windowed mode, at least in FalconBMS. is this the fact in DCS too? i am using NVIDIA for years now and i have no experience at all with ATI-cards. i have two 460GTX in a SLI setup which perform quite well in a single-monitor, fullscreen configuration. as soon as i go into windowed mode to output the mfds on an additional monitor my framerate drops almost by half. i tried different configurations: windowed with SLI, without (one card for main-screen, other card for mfds), fullscreen with softTH. it all results in a huge drop of fps as soon as i depart from default single-screen setup. so, is this the same case with ATI-cards? or am i doing something else completely wrong? i was thinking about buying a new 680GTX in the not so far future. after reading the post in the BMS-forum i am not so sure anymore if i should stick with NVIDIA. regards gofrm
  24. exactly, that's how it should work!
