And I have the feeling that this niche market is not as big as it was in the nineties. Back then I knew some people who flew flightsims in reallife. But nowadays, all that I have known either are not interested anymore because of being married and having a family and a job, or don't have time because of being married and having a family and a job. DEJA VU?! I still don't understand how they can still produce such a high fidelity simulation, when the product price didn't change. Same with the Warthog HOTAS. Do they really sell that well around the globe?

They use C++ for programming, and malloc isnt used in c++. For memory allocation you use new.

I tried editing the texture file for the lightning arc, painting it completely white, but it seems that the lightning doesnt change at all when I see it in the daytime. I also tried changing minimum width to 50 instead of 5, and it still showed the same arc. Guess its hardcoded? No way to modify it?

Hmmm. So basicly, there could be a problem that the texture of the lightning arc itself disappears at night? Does the engine work that way? That there are textures that stop being displayed at night?

I just wanted to fly a mission today, blowing up bridges, tanks and helicopters while lightning strikes as my speakers play THUNDERSTRUCK by AC/DC. Would make a cool video.. Is this only a problem with nvidia cards?

And no way to fix it? Ive searched the forums and there were 0 posts about this problem, so how can it be a known issue?

I updated my drivers to the latest certified version, and it still persists. Its difficult to photograph a lightning, but i managed to do it. Much respect to reallife lightning photographers.

Does anybody else have this problem? When I made a mission with 10 on the cloudscale with thunderstorm as weather, the color of the lightning is only dark blue. There is still the white blue flash in the clouds itself, just the lightning arc is dark blue. I have a Geforce 560 TI, and old drivers, is it a driver issue? anybody else with this card and the latest driver getting correct lightning displayed?

How did they/he/she do it in flash? It certainly doesnt look like its made with the addon Papervision3d.

Hello People from 2011. I come from the year 2013, and they just released DCS F18C. Sorry for the guys who wanted an F16 Flight sim, but hey, Freefalcon 10 came out with new engine and clickable 3D cockpit, so dont worry!

They forgot DCS A10C. They included Cliffs of Dover, but didn't include DCS A10C. When are we going to send in murder threats? :mad:

Why are F-16 always so happy about everything? They smile everytime they fly, land, sit on the ground, chase the 6 of another air plane, drop bombs, fire missiles... It seems they are flying high in the sky!

Several thousand pages for each asset itself you mean? Commanding a whole Destroyer with all these systems by myself turns flying the A10C into a task for Kindergarten Kids.

Women? Here? Who are interested in Flight Sims? :joystick: Maybe they want to compensate for something that they dont have? As the numbers increase, we have to deal with other important stuff: 1. What do you call a female Wingman? Winggirl? Winggal? Wingwife? 2. Do we have to redesign aerial refueling so it is a sexist play of hitting the basket? 3. Will Women get a male warning voice for their cockpit? Just joking, if any woman reads this, she is allowed to make jokes about me.

Did anybody ever put the saitek rudder pedals together with the obutto? I have those at home and will get them after the exams, and I want to be prepared if I have to build something additional

Why should the graphics put anyone off? It looks like Il2, and a lot of people play that.

didnt think about that... I fastened the throttle with cable fixers because it fixes the thottle in the position. So when I move the 2 levers, it stays fixed in position. With velcro I feel that it may not be possible to be as precise with the control then when i fix it with cable fixers or using bolts. I planned on getting a steel plate as big as the size of the throttle, make 8 holes, 4 for the connection to the throttle on the edges of the plate, and 4 for the connection with the mount of the obutto. But this is a job for summertime when I have a little bit freetime. I feel like the work on a cockpit is never finished.

I only use a few cable fixers. But I will drill 4 holes in one of the mounts and fix the stick in the center between my legs.
