  1. sure it's an idea, but your chair...:( , i've been siting on a plastic ikea chair for years... our backs deserve better than that :joystick:
  2. Hello, i'm looking at the playseat too now, and i wondered, in the upper position would it hold a racing wheel properly ? I've seen the picture with a yoke there, but would it be sturdy enough to handle the force feedback ? and stupid question but : how do you get in that seat ? :music_whistling:. that black (mamba) rod coming from the chair is ...well... a life changer i guess :D
  3. and the lack of a manual ;-) I know there has been the real manual around these forum.... but being more complex than the mig 15 (which has a very nice manual, but no stock english cockpit ) one could have used an indepth manual. I'm sure it will come later on, as BST is used to quality product, but slow delivery
  4. i wrote you too, i'm interested :).
  5. nice :) I was so focused on the plane itself, it took me half the video to realize it was in dcs and not IRL ....
  6. it's a matter of taste and habit i guess... tldr : i'd like to see it implemented. But people are always asking for fidelity in the sim. I don't see why this feature shouldn't be implemented. As mentioned above, it works in many modules already, and add some immersion to it. You're gonna drop a bomb (damn it :D) it's not meaninless like setting the trim ;). I guess i'll forget to flip it the first times, like i forget to switch the radar from std-by to On... and in most joystick config, we have a modifier button somewhere (a pinkie or anything), so modifier + bomb/ gun = switch cover (that's how i did it on ka50 and mig15), it takes 1s to flip
  7. Very interesting ! thanks for you work. Being quite a fan of navigation in DCs, that would come in handy. Now, does this mean we can add more NDB stations ? for any aircraft ? For example, i wish there were more ARC stations for the mig's
  8. 1.B : F1E , the more abilities, the merrier. 2.B : enough 2 seaters trainers already, we need a WSO behind, not an instructor :music_whistling: 3.B , it's a french plane, i'm french, obvious choice, + English (like the russian planes have native + english as well) 4.b I'd rather keep the F1 in its era; one variant would be enough  good luck in securing all the intel on this beauty (this is no irony :) )
  10. i think the only graphical requierment for the server is to be able to open a DX9 context. so basicaly, any crappy not so recent gpu. But as mentionned above, 3D render need to be disabled in settings
  11. if you increase res, you will need more power for same fps of course. But you don't have to get up to 4K, you could stop at QHD: https://pcmonitors.info/articles/2560-x-1440-vs-1920-x-1080/ i'm using a 80cm HDTV (1920x1080) on my pc (and for dcs) and even if i got used to the light blur, i think i'm less efficient, i mean it seems i can't spot details in the distance as my friends do, so either it's my inability to do so, or my screen ...(be gentle, say it's the screen :megalol: ) so my conclusion, a reasonably priced 27" 2560*1440 screen....until the Ocullus rift comes out . Not worth investing more in screens anymore. ps: congratz for flying with the black bar in the middle of the FOV :music_whistling:
  12. nice initiative. but i can't not highlight the irony of bringing civil planes into a military sim whereas folks worked for years to bring the military to FSX (i'm thinking VRS tacpack)
  13. or you can create a private one (public checkbox unchecked), choose the network interface that suits you (the IP), and the other pc could either use your public ip (but you would have to foward the port on the router/modem) Or easier : the second client may enter your server local ip (whatever you see when launching a cmd.exe and typing ipconfig) feel free to ask for detail, and tell us if it works :)
  14. i owned a X52 (basic, i wish i had taken the pro..) for 5 years with no issue, but accordingly to its descent price, it doesn't feel like a top quality product. I still opened it to remove that stupid "AB detent" on the detent but anyway, call it luck or not, all those bad reviews will end darkening saitek products. Bad reputation is bad fo business, and it's a long and hard way to get rid of it. I especially think about the automotive and motorbike world...where bad reputation can kill a brand ! Saitek remains the entry point for many wannabe simmers (i've been there) that's their market share. once you broke/feel the limit of it, one upgrades to a higher range product (be it warthog, ch product or whatever your wallet allows you )
  15. - do you have internet connnection at all ? - do you have 2 DCS accounts ?
  16. I tried (a little) to fly it, i took a blue Sead flight. But damn those moving Sam are hard to get !! is there a specific technique to use? or just shoot as close as possible ?i fired 4 missiles at different targets, and only got 1. Or should i wait they run out of fuel ? :music_whistling:
  17. wise words. thanks for the teasing description, it does sound like fun. What's best than fly into ennemy territory, sticking to the ground at full speed with a chopper ^^. will try asap:pilotfly:
  18. I agree, it's hard to find people in mission. I guess it's inherent with the simulation genre. Arma has kinda the same issue, it's better with team mates you can talk too. I'm thinking about joining a group too. But then the required dedication to the game might be too high. One though about the mission online : When i see almost empty servers but with many slots available, i suppose the mission needs that many slot to be filled for the mission to be completed : and as it's almost empty, it might not be worth trying "alone". Same with mission involving A/A and A/G roles, i won't join the blue A/G if I don't have air support and the red are flying SU27's ... So there is a psycological factor in how I perceive the mission before even entering it =/. So maybe reducing the scale of the operation in favor of a more complex one for a smaller group of player is worth trying. (and if i'm crazy, why not hosting a TS server along the DCS server...so people could talk together :D) And last note, you're so right to work on the documentation, some good mission often lack the good briefing they deserve. A deep flight briefing (not the political /fictionnal story ) but precise attack plan really turns my pilot sens on :joystick: edit: an documenting all that code, that's great for future developper. Seeing how you made all that, you clearly have a strong developper culture, not everyone dare to fit lua in the OOP mold ;-)
  19. Nice idea! i can't count how many times i had poor sabre performance because i forgot the A/B out ! (no, no i never took off with the A/B extended...no, that would be a shame) On another hand, the Mig21 has a A/B light ! so it's less critical. and on the A10...well...they're quite obvious ;)
  20. no morse code at all i'm diggint out this old post, because lately, i came to realise I don't hear any morse code at all. I hear the "noise" when tuned off, and I see the needle stuck to the right when i'm tuned in. But i don't hear anything. Have i missed something in the recent changelogs ? Cause in the end, it's still unusable without the code at all :helpsmilie:
  21. server time Hello Sven, first and foremost, thank for spending so much effort into this, our beloved simulator and community deserve such quality work ^^ I wonder when your server is up ? i found it on friday (and talk to you briefly, about coming testing the mission with friends on wensday evenings), but when i wanted to test & fly it this week end, i never found it back. i'd just like to know if you have regular session hosted or if it's a little "random" ? i'd like to train on good open server with descent ping :joystick:
  22. beta activation tokens Hello everyone, I'm just wondering how will be handled the activation between the beta and the official release, cause I had to activate the demo and it seems like it removed one token during the process. will I have to un-install it to retrieve my token (previous ED game style) and use it for the real release ? thanks ! [edit] damn, no sooner had I post this , that i found the answer : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=59372&page=2
