  1. Hi Thank you for the replies today. I want to fly around, with only the TGP mounted, to do some reckon. I can do this and using the 'mark points' (26 to 30) we can use the TGP to mark new coordinates and using '0' MSEL button use them as steer points. What I am now trying to use (and struggling) are those steer points from 21 to 25, which allow one to store two additional 'offset' points AO1 and AO2. However, I can not seem to do this or I do not know how? When flying around with TGP mounted only, can I also 'mark' points but use steerpoint 21 instead of 26, so that I can thereafter use the offset points TGT, A01, A02? Also, even if I manually input coordinates for steerpoint 21, I can step between A01 and A02 and area or point track but when I jump / cycle between TGT, A01 and A02 it does not remember what I pointed at when in A01 and A02? Thanks-hope this makes more sense.
  2. Hi When I fly with only a TGP mounted (no bombs etc.) how can I switch from CCIP to CCRP mode? I am trying to create a markpoint - but it must be set to steerpoing 21 so that I may switch between AO1, AO2 etc. How do I do this with only a TGP mounted? TGP stuck in CCIP
  3. Okay, I tried on another multiplayer server, and it worked. Will try and record a track when this happens again...
  4. Hello Please may you explain that to me. So, if I release the bombs and they will impact in say 50 seconds. With my auto lase setting to 20 seconds prior to impact, I thought the bombs would free-fall for say 30 seconds (50-20) and then the last 20 seconds the laser will start firing? Questions 1. How do I determine the time to impact, prior to releaseing the bombs? 2. Please may you give me an example - assuming we know the time to impact prior to releasing the bombs P.S The only other settings I change is the release cue that I set to 8nm as in one of the example videos, and with release angle of zero degrees so that I can fly high and level, altitude +- 25,000 to 30,000 feet. Thanks
  5. Hi Sometimes when dropping Paveway III's the laser does not automatically start lasing. What could be the cause, these are the steps that I take 1. set the laser to auto lase 20s (instead of the defaul 8s or 0s) 2. ensure that the laser is armed 3. even test the laser to make sure the L flashes when manually firing the laser 4. drop bombs, no laser?
  6. It looked like 12nm just prior to dropping of the bomb? I still prefer the Maverick-H class ... from around 18nm to almost 20nm at an Altitude of almost 40,000 feet I have had many successful ground hits. Purpose of my post was to also find the threshold of the Paveway II, so from what I gather it is better to use a release angle of say 45 degrees at 35,000ft and then around 10nm-14nm one may have a successful ground hit that is likely more accurate - provided TGP can see the target and the laser is firing ... Another question, at that distance, when should one fire the laser? all the way down? won't the Paveway run out of fuel? so is there a technique such as firing the laser immediately upon release for 10 seconds to start off correctly, then wait and start firing the laser again as the bomb nears the target area? thank you
  7. Hi What is the longest standoff distance from which one can launch a PaveWay II laser guided bomb? I set the release angle to zero degrees, release cue to 8nm Then from around 25,000feet up I can release from around 10nm and start lasing while turning away from the target area. Is this the best case use?
  8. Hallo Where can I find this program - or similar - that displays large dials and altitude / speed on-screen? I am familiar with GitHub and found another program called DCS The Way which allow one to pick a location on the F10 map and then using DCS The Way input coordinates on the DED automatically which the process easier. Now looking for these - see attached image.null I found it watching this video:
  9. Hallo Whom may I contact to ask for a change to my display name (profile name), I would like to synchronize it with my new alias that I use when playing online. Thank you AngryViper.101
  10. Hallo What / how can I bind keyboard shortcut to zoom in and out when using the F10 map? Currently I only know of using the mouse wheel or laptop touchpad to zoom in and out. Thank you AngryViper.101
  11. Hi Which CMDS program executes when the system mode is "AUTO"? Currently one flare is dispensed every +- 1 second, I want to change that behaviour. Thank you
  12. They can try and take me down, but I will live to fight another day.
  13. Hi At times, I jump into the AI gunner seat, 'George' the AI then stabilizes the aircraft for me into a near hover. While remaining in my pilot seat, can I ask George to take control and do the same? without physically having to enter the gunner seat?
  14. I have also been more succesful doing this. 1. Lock the wheel brakes 2. Power up 80% +- 3. Release wheel brakes 3.1 Now in the beginning - especially on grass runway ... you will have to use the rudder to counter the 'slip' with slight brakes 3.2 Soon after letting her run you can use rudder only, no brakes! to correct (I never use pitch or bank - only rudder control - until in the air! even then mostly trim ...) 4. Then do not pull the nose up, let it straighten out by itself and then gently keep the nose level 5. As soon as possible pull up the landing gear, reduces drag I found 6. Then use the rudder to keep it from slipping, need to keep watching that slip needle under the gunsight! 7. Then level the flaps. I always use 14-degree flap regardless of loadout. 8. Then engine gear into higher setting. and remember to bring down the RPM to around 70%... and throttle slightly back. P.S during take-off I use the 'TRIM' a lot to trim the aircraft on a straightish path, fighting the aircraft with normal pitch and bank may result in a stall and crash.
  15. Hi Can we script a keyboard mapping, similar to the Rudder 1 Notch flight control settings which allows one to move the rudder (left or right) by one 'Notch' which is then set slightly to the left or right by n Notches depending on how many times you depressed the keyboard button. The Rudder will then auto center when you use the pedals again. Can we have a similar Rudder Flight Control 1 Notch key binding for the F16?
  16. Okay, got it Gun Sight Power On / Off ....
  17. Hi I have not flown the mosquito in a while. What is the command (keyboard bind etc.) to sit in the center, behind the gunsight? Thank you
  18. Aha, great thank you @skywalker22 now to keep the awacs safe! even at 35k feet I noticed HSD started showing no friendly or foe anymore, then upon g closer inspection I noticed the Awacs was full of holes and descending ;0
  19. Thank you , I will try and include an AWACS and feedback regarding the HSD issue... In the interm I have been using the FCR (flight control rader) and via TMS left long or TMS left short managed to get green blips close to friendlies!
  20. Hi New to the mission editor. When I create a mission with several friendly aircraft in the vicinity, I cannot spot them on the HSD? In multiplayer games I see the green circles, why in single player can I not see any? Any advice on how to set this up would be appreciated Thank you
  21. Hi I posted something similar, but trying to explain it better here. I am creating a mission, and based on some condition, I want my aircraft to pitch up say 25 degrees automatically. How do I control things like Pitch, Roll and Rudder via a Lua script? Thanks
  22. Hi Where can I obtain the device ID and code so that I can control the Rudder, Pitch and Roll? I am currently using a script below to treat - for example - the HUD brigthness knob as a potentiometer - so that I can turn the brightness to 50%. I want to do the same with the Pitch, Roll and Rudder but cannot find the correct device ID and code? JSONArray commandArray = new JSONArray(); //HMCS Knob, turned to 50% brightness (0.5) - ASK ground crew to install if not already done!!! commandArray.put(new JSONObject().put("device", "2").put("code", "3001").put("delay", "0").put("activate", "0.5").put("delay", "20")); This is then sent to DCS try { Socket socket = new Socket("127.0.0.1", 42070); PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(socket.getOutputStream(), true); out.println(toSend); socket.close(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } which in turn is interpreted by a script that makes use of the performClickableAction GetDevice(device):performClickableAction(code, activate)
  23. How do I use the auto pilot to navigate to a steerpoint, and arrive at the same altitude? Firstly, I engage STRG SEL, and then ATT HOLD, keeps my pitch direction, PITCH ALT HOLD keeps me level? If I am at 25,000 ft and the Steerpoint I am heading for is 20,000, how do I auto pilot to that steerpoint and altitude?
  24. Hi, I do experience it often due to my own 'user' 101 error. Either I do not wait for stored alignment to do its thing, or I forget, and then the systems are not aligned correctly resulting in what this post mentions. That is why pilots shave checklists I should keep one handy.
