Okay , great thanks for the tip. I usually forget the two (blue) radiators ON! -
How to find my location on map?
AngryViper.101 replied to AngryViper.101's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
Great stuff, I have now learned how to use the receiver radio's direction finder capabilities and use those two cross needles on co-pilot dash to fly toward a beacon. however, multiplayer maps sometimes only give beacons for two home airbases. would be great if they did same for targets? -

How to find my location on map?
AngryViper.101 replied to AngryViper.101's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
Hi Okay, can you please direct me to two videos / user guides: 1. How to use the knee board to create a spot on the F10 map to indicate where I am? on a multi player server that does not show any aircraft positions. 2. How to use the backseat radio's direction finder to fly toward a signal? Thank you -
On some servers you cannot use F10 map to see your current position on the map. I know I can use the compass bearing to fly in a direction. But how do I find my current location on the map?

Also, check the escape hatch bottom right. After repairing the aircraft, it is open, and you must close that first. Also, the windows as mentioned by previous reply.

Left Cockpit Lights not working?
AngryViper.101 replied to AngryViper.101's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
Aha ,with ST do you mean single-threading versus multi threading? -
Hi I used to be able to turn the dimmer switch to the left and a light would illuminate cockpit instruments. The knob does turn but no light appears. Is there another switch I must use to turn on internal cockpit dimmer lights?

yes I agree - very accurate, but you must do a fly over and spend time boresighting in flight, then head on over to target area and go for it ... even using area mode and +- 20nm out you can get a good hit/shack most of the time ...

On Open Beta they work fine. However, you can no longer boresight them accurately while on the runway (ground). I first take-off, then I pick a target on the map - preferably a vehicle and fly towards the target and perform boresighting in-air at a range of 4nm to 7nm +- Doing that I have been successfully for the past two months. since 25 Jan's open beta if I am not mistaken. P.S I always do this with master arm ON and make sure the TGP snaps to a target before handing off to maverick, slewling to same target and make sure it also snaps to the same target after pressing TMS up/fwd - then remember to click on the BSGT MFD button, and do same for other pylon. Then go out of air-to-ground mode and switch back to a-g and pick another taget or same with TGP and see if - after handoff - the maverick points to same spot on the WPN page. Contact me if you need some help.

Good morning Having a smooth flight this morning, then spotted two Hinds trying to take off. I was 40,000 ft up in the skies, armed with two of the smaller Maverick-H variants. Anyway, managed to get a lock on both Hinds and let rip one Mav H on each of those Hinds. Both targets hit - thanks to the boresighting that I did en-route to target area. However, both Hinds were merely 'damaged' and not completely destroyed! darn I did not know those Hinds have such tough chassis!?

correct as is Maverick boresight and parallax
AngryViper.101 replied to USA_Recon's topic in Bugs and Problems
Alright, after several test flights, on multiple servers my conclusion: Best is to take off, then return to the airport, or another site on route to your target area and use friendly ground units to perform bore sighting while flying. I prefer doing so between 5nm and 8nm away from target to ensure that the parallax error is minimal. This seems to do the trick. This is also better than before when you had to wait 2 + minutes for the mavericks to warm up, now you can takeoff (just remember to power on the mavericks before going airborne) then go find some friendly ground units on route to target area to use as bait for the boresighting procedure. If you don't have any targets like that then head back to the airport - usually you will find something there to boresight while in-flight. Cheers -

I have done another test, using the Buddyspike server 'Persian Gulf' Took 2 x H class marvicks on those LAU-117 pylon brackets and managed to boresight and engage two targets at long range. So it is working much better! I did however 1. cold start 2. took off, 3. boresighted to a watch tower will in-flight 4. then flew to my target 80 nm out and managed to lock on and engage both targets, also used the ripple RP - 2 so that the mavericks shot with one weapon release depress. Will do more tests witht the other LAU pod that allows one to mount 3 x Mav H class on one pylon. I did that earlier today and it seemed ok, BUT boresighting on the runway it most likely going to introduce the parallex error, I have a bit more success flying around and boresighting in flight now. -

I performed a test on a single player mission and managed to boresight. Using 2 x H and it worked Using 2 x K and it also worked I think they have fixed the bug, perhaps load a track so that ED can see what you are doing. -

I am busy downloading the latest open beta patches, I am hoping it does work on cold start ;-( -
This is Great stuff! as long as the maverick boresight issue is also fixed when they release the new stuff

When playing a single player mission with one AI wingman, when I give the order to engage ground units, my AI wingman creates red targets on the HSD to indicate which ground target he is attacking. My question, how do I do the same? How do I also create red targets on the HSD, based on my markpoints 26-30 so that I can see them on the HSD and more importantly share them with my wingman so that he can also see my markpoints. Then when I ask "Attack my Target" my wingman should engage my markpoint that I have placed and highlighted on the HSD? Please help me with the procedure to do this. Thanks

How in the world did I miss DCS??
AngryViper.101 replied to TopCat SE's topic in New User Briefing Room
Aha, this is exactly how I felt when discovering DCS World toward the end of 2021.... also, remember days back when Microprose F19 and F117a was released for PC back in 1992 ... yup long time ago. Also, Red Baron 1990+ .. Those two were epic. Red Baron (1990 video game) - Wikipedia F-19 Stealth Fighter - Wikipedia -
Hi Please may someone post an update video, or steps to follow to help me generate a good ground radar (GM) picture? I can clearly see ground vehicles via TGP, from say 10 nm away and 25,000 feet up but even when I fly slightly to the left of the target area the ground map image is not clear. I also use EXP and DBS1 and 2 modes after selecting range of 10nm and closing the A from A6 to A3 and A1 , but I cannot identify the ground vehicles like tanks and anti-air defenses. Any advice / tips would be appreciated. Thanks
