I did set custom axis curve for X and Y axis with a *very* shallow center (like "0" in the center and "3" as the next value) and it works good, even with the original Warthog springs. Just remember to look at the plane, not at the basket/boom. ;)

Someone at ED please take notice of this :)

Texture mapping missing inside cockpit
Joghurt replied to Joghurt's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Polygon count is fine by me, but I don't see why they couldn't use the same texture? As long as it's just the texture itself and no shadow- or bump map or such that should be possible. It should be just a matter of how to organize the parts on the texture image. -
Texture mapping missing inside cockpit
Joghurt replied to Joghurt's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Then why is the interior model not always visible, even from the outside? Would be way more consistent :( -
I created a helper skin to be able to find the locations to place markings for formation alignmen. While doing so I found what seems to me like a bug with the textures: When looking at my aircraft from the outside (F2), some parts of the skin are used for the cockpit internal textures (see blue parts in the first image), while when looking from the inside (F1) they are not (compare with rest of images).

Ah, cool, thank you! :)

Works, thank you! :) There may be a bug: That 500 points penalty for entering the formation airspace unauthorized - are you sure they are really subtracted and not added instead? I got a penalty on the first try, did less than a dozen formations on my own afterwards and came out with 625 points. Is this possible?

Can't see it :( What software version are you running on?

Last weekend I was on a multiplayer server, and after some time found an aerobatics team, which I joined in their flight (had, like, a ping of about 250). Then, after the flight, I wanted to take some fancy screenshots of me with them, therefore I replayed the recorded track file. That's when I became irritated: On the replay I was not in their formation but, like, 100 meters off. So, no fancy screenshots for me. :( Explanation: From what I saw it looks as if a track file only contains the initial position of objects and then only the steering, control, wind and whatever information to redo the movements that the objects did, but not their absolute location at a given time. Probable cause: I'd say network latency in combination with storage format. Proposition: Please save snapshots of absolute object positions in the track files from time to time, like they do for e.g. with compressed movie formats like MPEG (see I-, P- and B-frames). It's like with what the problems were with the old INS systems: their location determination got worse over time - it got better when they started using absolute locations via GPS :smartass:

When flying formation you don't have time to check if the button press to activate the smoke was good enough and did not bounce or such and if the smoke is really on, especially since there is no indicator and you can't see the smoke in the mirrors or such. :helpsmilie: I therefore propose an addictional control that would be used with a switch: If pressed the smoke is on and if released the smoke is off. That way we could be sure that one does not ruin a display.

I'm not sure about Master Arm but otherwise it's just mount, press key and have fun. Oh, and you need to be in the air for it to work, it's not working on the ground by default.

[NO BUG]Two of three AOA indexer lights very bright in NFG
Joghurt replied to Joghurt's topic in Bugs and Problems
Where's the switch for that? -
Absolutely agree, just check the multiplayer servers for maps: Just compare how many of them are for the Caucasus map (because everybody can connect to it) and how many are for other maps? ;)

There's also a relatively new Spyglass VR Zoom, which zooms even more, on the same controls page. @DCS: I again request to make it possible to zoom via slider in VR like in non-VR environment, please!

Complete Air to Air Refuelling Tutorial - DCS Fuel School - F/A-18C
Joghurt replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
You can disable wake via the menu, afaik, if you don't want that (at the beginning?) ;) -
Using only the "outer" engine seems to help :)

Not sure if that's the log of the correct crash because the time is way off, but I don't have another one from that day: http://dg4sfw.de/tmp/dcs.log-20191101-191519.zip

Just flew a quick mission in Nevada with an F/A-18C to test my new GeForce 2070 Super, 441 driver version. Default options but starting in mid-air, as far as I recall, just installed the latest update. The Game froze and directly crashed to desktop on Walleye impact using an AWW-13. I was using an Oculus Rift.

+1 Maybe with adjustable height, by buttons and/or analogue axis?
-
Please make it possible to assign taking a screenshot to a HOTAS button. I really hate having to fish for the print button when in a close formation flight using my Oculus Rift :joystick:
-
In my opinion that's quite a lot! :joystick: I'm using a linear mapping without dead zone or curvature on the throttle and about 10 curvature on the stick at max. When I bought my Oculus Rift it became a little easier because you have a better feeling for the distance to the tanker, but I could do it before, too. I started being able to do refuelling after I stopped looking at the basket and started looking at the plane - I memorized where the turbines are in relation to my cockpit features like that HUD reflection glass or the canopy support bars (both directly in front and also to one side, to be able to determine my relative position to the tanker) and then just do minor(!) changes to hold me there. :book: When using a tanker with a boom it's even easier in terms of speed: For every inch the boom gets shoved together I pull the throttle a little back and vice versa. If you do this slowly enough, it will automatically stabilize you at the sweet spot of the throttle.

@DCS team: Any news on this?
