It is a procedural engine (have a look on the FAQ) by default you don't have resolution limit on texture because they are generated by a formula and you can create a lot of different worlds like a landscape generator. This is different from the DCS engine (I suppose).

You have the AOC e2795Vh which is a MVA screen: better contrast and 178° view angles. There is alsothe BenQ EW2730, MVA too. But there is a drawback: MVA are sometimes slower than a TN screen.

You could also (if you have no TrakIR) set up one rotary control as directional axis, bind the keyboard commands for zoom +/- and decrease the sensibility. It should work.
