  1. good one Zach,,,ED should hire you to do their ww2 warbird bug fixes. then i would be confident of accurate progress materializing in a timely fashion.
  2. thank you for your devotion and dedication to the ww2 warbirds Zach. ppl like you...aka...the community is what makes or breaks a game. when devs ears go deaf...game dies. pls keep up the indiana jonesing for more buried or forgotten treasures sir.
  3. can we pls put an end to this dollar cost issue. devs have a right to ask for payment for efforts and material. if you bought all the ww2 stuff, as i did, it's what $500. that's peanuts for all the time and satisfaction you derive. work out the enjoyment/per hour/per dollar ratio. you all drop way more cash for a lot less return at local watering holes. for christ's sakes, don't you have jobs that pay more than minimum wage. the only thing that would really help new plyrs are better maps on the kneeboards like a competitor's game does really well...get rid of the DCS gps function tho...
  4. well said skewgear...i do believe that was -Slayer-'s intent, i took it as try it offline to see it's effects.
  5. thnx nightowl, great song by gerry rafferty btw, for the info. i suppose that is an important feature ppl like. hottom, you are missing out on the best feature of all video games, that is communication...flight communities are much more polite than adolescent fps.
  6. bignewy sir, could you enlighten me what the export of objects does for the server side? if stormofwar had this off, and it could cure this problem, seems like an easy fix. i applaud -Slayer- for his stance and efforts on this topic. bringing light to this will help with a solution.
  7. thnx for the heads up...always amazes me how ppl come up with hacks. personally, makes the mp gaming more fun as i am now able to find enemies. some sort of happy medium between this and the status quo might be ideal for gameplay.
  8. cool, i appreciate your non defensive reply. i am just dipping my toes into dcs eventhough i have been here since lockon, flamming cliffs 1/2/3. ww2 air combat is my fav genre. ergo, i want it done well and be a passion not a job for devs. that said...if you are gonna setup a server for full historical accuracy, you can not have the unholy trinity enabled. they are gps, auto rudder n takeoff assistance. now all i am asking philstlye aka god is what is the status on these 3. i luv his obsession with ww2 warbirds but phil you must stop those 3 existing...hmmm, also xnay the zoom... why?...did the pilots use binoculars in flight?....methinks , NO. can we have one fucking air sim game without this zoom feature pls? so phil...lets make that 4 things u need to correct to gain my respect. there is no such thing as hardcoding. ask me how...i can show u how it can be done. tell me with those 4 changes, this ww2 warbird sim will not only be more historical, but increase the satisfaction lvl. nuff said 4 now.
  9. Yes i am dead serious, you think he doesn't read every text? Hmmm, haven't you masses realized by now that the m is silent as you should be as well. If the above are all hard coded and unchangeable for server hosts, that's unacceptable. especially the GPS feature.
  10. Thnx for the info Nirvi, i must say i am disappointed by this. For the ww2 warbirds this has to be removed. Also, could you shed some light on the auto rudder and take off assistance usage on the storm of war server pls?
  11. a couple of questions philstyle, i am enjoying your videos immensely and just getting into stormofwar mp. is auto rudder and take off assistance enabled on your server? also can you not turn off the mark present location on map? as this is basically gps...so navigation skills do not ever come into play as they should.
  12. actually i am able to drop 500 kg from tree top level and just lvl fly away. set bomb for level flight delayed not diving delayed. the switch should point at the MV at about the 2pm position on the big square box ahead of control stick.
  13. i've been using the asus rog 32:10 43" monitor for a year now. i have similar pc specs to you, and even with everything maxxed out including the mod that adds ultimate and insane levels to visibility range, my FPS never drops below 80. i do run at 3840x1200p.
  14. just figured it out, you have to switch on the v101 fuse on right side panel...the description is..."wing/ordance on"
  15. it is not working, i set fuse selector, hit bomb release, nothing happens. any help pls?
  16. are there any replacements for the default maps. if you open a folder named Kneeboard, can you put a new map in to replace the existing default one? and will the mark location feature still work?
  17. thnx grafspee, i will try that out. but even inflight when i tap my key for increase/decrease throttle, it goes in the desired direction but chooses it's own end point, kinda fluctates. i will have to look at the k/b input files to see what kind of sensitivity exists.
  18. once again, and this happens everytime, i'm doing Normandy takeoff instant action mission. i'm on the runway, engine warm, idling, auto prop pitch, default stabilizer setting. i tap my up arrow key, just tap it, the rpm info bar number goes superfast past 80 and fluctuates between 92 and 85, everytime...on just a tap of the key. do i really have to buy the throttle piece to go along with my VKB gunfighter stick? is anyone else using the k/b for their throttle input? if so, and you are happy with it, pls help this Jerry's kid.
  19. thnx all for the advice, i agree the curve numbers are critical to each plane. also, i read on a previous post, that a fellow uses manual prop pitch at 12:00 for takeoff, then once airborne switches to auto. he says the coding for auto is lagging behind and really causing an issue for takeoffs. i have double checked my input controls, i do clear all, and start fresh including the UI layer for the end mission ESC keystroke. watching some vids by requeim, i have noticed how more finutely he controls the throttle by using the left hand throttle instrument. i am just using the arrow keys and the rpm goes up quite fast from 0, seems to always keep going on up/down even after i let up on the key...seems to be choosing it's own number.
  20. yes, i have turned off takeoff assistance and not activated auto rudder as i feel likewise to your thoughts. but still, as i gently apply throttle, this is what i experience with both the bf109k4 and fw190d9.... at first, the anticipated left torque pull, i use opposite rudder and dab right wheel brake, then as throttle passes 60%, there comes a noticeable right pull eventhough rudder has been returned to neutral. i definitely am a noob to this game, i have been playing a lot of il2 great battles for years, and i've never experienced this behaviour nor struggled to get competent with takeoffs. i'm sure i am doing something wrong but any sage will be welcome.... back to the grind.
  21. i am a long time, since Jane's ww2 fighters, circa 1998, flight sim enthusiast. this is the oddest takeoff prop modelling i've ever experienced. i am all to familiar with most ww2 era planes pulling left but never experienced a complete shift to opposite torque when more throttle is applied. any thoughts, criticisms are welcome, i just want to suss this out from both a theoretical and ingame competency issue. thnx...
