Mission 9 impossible?
Sandman Simulations replied to DrShaw's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Operation Mountain Breeze Campaign
This time I was lucky and made it on first try. Still not perfectly as one of the SU-24s just dropped its bombs before got killed. It's not easy mission but not impossible either. I took heading to closing MiGs and shot 3 AMRAAMs. They shot two missiles at the same time and I had to break the radar lock and go defensive. Still two of my missiles hit which is quite rare. After evading missiles I shot one AMRAAM against fourth MiG. I thought it was killed by my flight lead and turned towards attack element. Shot rest of my AMRAAM and then noticed there was still one MiG alive. Fortunately the lead too it down and I went after the Su-24s. Killed one with AIM-9s and had only guns left. They were too fast for me but fortunately Cougar 1 flight came to help. Bit too late but all enemies got downed. Of course I f*ed up my approach but don't look at that. I checked your mission files and I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Maybe trying to shoot the enemy before it shoots forcing it to break the radar lock might be one way. Not working every time. You don't need to wait for shoot cue as I think it comes only when enemies are in no-escape range. They are closing fast and you can shoot earlier. There is no radar jamming or any other sorcery. Mountain Breeze M9.acmi -
Mission 9 impossible?
Sandman Simulations replied to DrShaw's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Operation Mountain Breeze Campaign
Hi, I'll check if something has happened for this mission too. It's not easy one but shouldn't be impossible. Last time I tested it about month ago and we got all of the on second try. -

Campaign Softlock?
Sandman Simulations replied to Zd-Razor's topic in DCS: F/A-18C & DCS: F-14 Iron Tide Campaign
I think I found the problem. At that point of the campaign even if you destroy all active enemy ground troops you need to send at least one front line CAP flight to maintain air superiority over your fighting ground troops to help them progress. That is a bit unrealistic feature as you have destroyed all enemy helicopter and attack aircraft bases so you should have the air superiority even without that CAP flight. I think I need to make some adjustments for ground war calculations so that in your situation it should be enough to kill enemy ground troops as there is no enemy air threat at all. Thank you very much for your report and the Tacview file. You have made quite a great job in the campaign -

Hi, Thank you for reporting. I'll take a look. That might be a bug, -
Mission 6 - A-A engagement
Sandman Simulations replied to SHazmak's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Operation Mountain Breeze Campaign
Yeah it seems that the latest DCS upadate wasn't a good one for this mission. Patch to fix these issues is already made but will take a while to get it out. -
Hi, Thank you for reporting. The Tacview file helped a lot. It must be that those Toyotas got killed too early. I'll make a patch to prevent that and a safe guard to make sure mission progress even if the lead fails to attack.

Mission 6 - A-A engagement
Sandman Simulations replied to SHazmak's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Operation Mountain Breeze Campaign
Correcting myself. It can ruin the mission as Syrian ships sometimes kill themself in minutes. Need to find some fix for that. -

Sandman Simulations replied to SHazmak's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Operation Mountain Breeze Campaign
I tested this one and MiGs shot this time and got me down. I think they only had bad day before. Syrian ships seem to shoot each other once again but it doesn't ruin the mission. -

As the AI behavior changes time to time it might be better not to touch this one if the mission is othervice working. -

Defend Dubai problem
Sandman Simulations replied to MnMailman's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Flaming Sunrise Campaign
I started the campaign again and skipped the first mission. No change. Devils are launching normally. I'm sorry I still can't tell why it isn't working for you this time. -

Sandman Simulations replied to MnMailman's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Flaming Sunrise Campaign
It shouldn't as they are separate missions and should have no interaction with each other. I'll test that too. Did you try to skip the mission where the problem excist and play the next one? -
The AI speed control problem when following other aircraft or approaching tanker is reported to ED while ago. I hope they will do something about it soon as there is no way campaign makers could fix that issue. Lead flying into terrain is in mission 3 is something new. At least she was able to stay alive couple of weeks ago when the updated mission was tested. I need to check it again.

Initial feedback M1 & M2
Sandman Simulations replied to Hillman's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Operation Mountain Breeze Campaign
I also checked it and didn't work for me either. Don't know why as it seems to work in other missions. Anyway no need in this mission but if I'll find the cause I'll fix it of course. -

Sandman Simulations replied to Hillman's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Operation Mountain Breeze Campaign
Yeah you are right. They have somehow lost their missiles. I'll fix that. At the moment I have no idea why the datalink is not working in this mission as settings are same as in all the other missions. Trying to find reason for that. -

Thank you for your feedback. I have submitted a patch to reduce ai AB use. Should be out in the next update. I'll take a look what's the problem with data link and AIM-9
