Don't remember the mission number, but its in The Shore, it's the armed recon mission. After flying it 8 times, I finally made it back. The instructions say something about being able to update your recon report then send your report in upon landing back at base. I've not been able to figure out the report, no radio links etc for making a report. So after completing I find your unable to continue in that campaign as it constantly brings up that same mission for you to fly. Anyone else?

I've found the easiest way is fly low over the triple A guns, they always seem to open most of my panels for me. :music_whistling:

Bahger, I was a member of a virtual air lines for about 6 years until recently. Initially our main line aircraft was the 747-200, then of course we moved up to the 400. We had a guy that had thousands of hours in the 747 as Captain, and had to retire due to medical reasons. He was around 65 years old. We used a Pirep software that recorded virtually EVERYTHING in your flight. I used to be amazed at his scores on his Pireps. It was refreshing to see him flying with us. I hope there are some combat pilots on here. It's definitely not a shame, good training in many aspects for them.

Looks like he definitely had his TM Hotas calibrated well. LOL

Not to flame but have to agree, there's a few glitches here and there. Most of what I see on mine have already been reported as far as I can tell so I'm just hanging out waiting. I'm sure they'll address it. In the mean time, there is waaaaaay too much that we can be learning on areas of the game that are working really well. Something this good isn't going to come out without some bugs.

Ya, that mission seemed neat, but for some reason I'm getting a crash when trying to start that one up. I've re adjusted some display stuff and still no joy yet, but working on it.

Not sure what all can possibly cause this as of yet, but I know one thing that will. I was trying to drop a CBU the other night and realized my HUD was not set to SOI. Once I had set the HUD to SOI, everything worked as advertised.. Just a couple of cents worth there... EDIT: My apoligies.. I missed the post above, this was already covered.

Exactly my reaction Jinja...

Your opinion Nate, I've got it too, didn't like it and ended up buying the HOTAS so not necessarily "WRONG" just my opinion.

If your talking about the delay from trigger pull to impact on target, that's just simple physics and it's realistic as it can get. Even firing a pistol on a 50 yard range has delay to a point where you can actually hear the round hit the paper target after the gun's report goes off.

Love that ending touch.... BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPPPP! Great sound!

Your not going to be happy at all with that set up. At first, you'll be amazed, but that will quickly turn to frustration when you realize you can't effectively manipulate the required pilot controls. Like Mtuckner said above, there are multiple switches/buttons etc on both the throttle and the stick that literally must be utilized. I have the Hotas Warthog and I'm still trying to get faster at searching for a target, etc etc.. Sorry to be a wet blanket, but you'll end up trying to figure out how to buy the Hotas..

Problem with Warthog Throttle
Yoni63 replied to Jg2001_Rasputin's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This is kind of a repost, but in case you didn't see my other, to encourage you.. I sent mine off on a tuesday, the next monday was a holiday so I expected nothing for 2 or 3 weeks. I got in on tuesday of the next week and my new throttle was sitting on the porch.. I sent to Canada from Oklahoma. My throttle was probably not even to Canada yet (FexEx Ground) so they had to have shipped my new one the minute I got my return info. New one came from France.. Hope that encourages you. -
Not talking about a warthog here I presume?

Ok, I was just a bit confused due to one of the user missions didn't seem to have a suffix on it ie: file."MIZ" at the end. It just said "File" and didn't specify what kind, so I was stumped. It was the refueling training mission if you want to go have a quick look.

Beware of the landing pattern mission, seems the left brake is stuck. It won't exit the hanger without getting hung up.
-
Can some one post step by step instructions on DL'ing these missions, and installing them into what folder? I know, that's def a newb request, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Thanks..

He he, I did that too once.. @GG, definitely wouldn't suprise me LOL
-
Yep, that was my first move.

Did exactly that.. nothing. I had plenty of time to experiment, nothing seemed to work this time.

I was just messing around decided to do that "unguided bombs" training, didn't want to listen to the virtual instructor so just headed to WP3 intending to drop my bombs. Im decending out of 19K at about 3 to 500 fpm, range at my 3 o'clock, gentle roll to the right, power back to 20% for the run in.... and.... that sickening sound of the (both) engines passing 20% for 0% enters my ears.. abort.. set best glide speed possible, 3 attempts to air start.. nothing... jettison stores (over water of course..), Nice glide into the airfield off of the range LOL. Anyone else have this happen?

RW procedure (when I was in the AF) Position lights (nav red/green) on anytime power is applied to aircraft. This notifies all ground personnel that control surfaces could move without warning. In some cases, I've seen it amended to "just prior to engine start" until engine shut down. Aircraft that have a "beacon" usually apply nav lights upon any power (apu/battery etc) then prior to engine start, the beacon will be activated and used until engine shut down. Strobes are only activated when rolling onto the runway for take-off, and only in flight when not in formation, and not during any significant cloud cover due to the flash back off of cloud surfaces. Strobes off upon leaving the runway upon landing. (don't think this has changed) Nav/position lights flash/steady I've seen a variation of it's usage at different bases, however when an aircraft is remaining in the pattern ie: touch and go's, I've seen alot go to flash then on steady out of the area in normal flight ops. As for lights "out" operation, that has recently changed, and I have NO idea what the SOP is for that. I do imagine active theater would be common sense lights out however.. I'm sure other's have seen a variation of usages. Just my two cents for FYI.

Most mistakes come from chasing needles. If you keep chasing them, it becomes an insane process that's never ending. Fall back on basic flight principles of pitch for airspeed, throttle for altitude. Teej has the best suggestion, rely on autopilot especially until you really get a feel for the A-10. You'd be surprised how much autopilot is used in the RW.

I think I've been flying FS too long... I was looking at the air refueling training file. I noticed the files don't have a suffix (miz) after them so I was unsure how to unzip, where to put them etc. First guess would be in the missions folder but I think I'll wait if someone can cue me on that. Sorry, I'm just not ready to screw up the sim LOL.
