  1. I've flown that one alot also as it's one that "will" actually stay loaded and not crash. (can't wait til final version released) but I have had a variety of air defenses at different times. I had a SAM nearby once, then next time, no SAM site, but three AAA sites. I think it randomizes air defenses.
  2. That's a nice vid site, just DL's a bit slow is all. Thx.
  3. @DocSigma.. well said.. Same tactics I have used and it usually gets you at least past the first one. After that I stay low and egress the area until I can regroup and either go after that launcher or avoid it completely.
  4. I'm strictly offline for now until I get a bit more versed with the Hog. It's not fair to other guys if I play online and don't even know the bird well yet. But as soon as I do.. it's all online baby! :)
  5. @ Succellus, agree with you on that. @ Feed agree with you also.
  6. Re-issued throttle 12/2010 new serial number is 4975, United States (Oklahoma)
  7. He he, sorry for the suspense. I didn't intend it. Real world stuff came up, but it's working. No problems at this point. So I've seen two sides.. unplug before shutdown and leave plugged in.. Has anyone arrived at what's best on this? I'm unplugging at the moment. I figure an arc is more rare than a surge during startup/shutdown. Geeez, we shouldn't be worrying about this at the price we paid.
  8. It's sounding more and more like there's really nothing we can do on our end to ensure this doesn't happen. Just got mine back up and running. I guess it will depend on how these "re-issued" throttles respond. I'm a bit taken aside by the fact that TM didn't comment or make any postings as to what they think the problem might be. That in itself leads me to think they have no earthly idea either. I guess we wait to see if one of the re-issued throttles bricks on us.
  9. Ok, one last question....The Hotas throttle is out of the box. I'm assuming it's updated already, so I'm going to update the joystick only as it was never sent back and has NOT been updated.. Not even going to plug the throttle in yet until the joystick has been updated. Any input here is welcomed.. I'm gonna wait a few.
  10. I'm home, I've been staring at it for about 20 minutes now. Geeez, it's not doing me any good unless I plug it in.. (That's what I keep telling myself)
  11. Gosh I sure hope so. I know when I get back home, I'm going to be one nervous cat. I'll probably just sit there and look at it afraid to plug it in. I've been away and looking over the forum, it looks like we are still wondering what is going on with it. I'm assuming it will have the new firmware updated out of the box? Anyone that has received a replacement know on this?
  12. Just got my replacement throttle back this week, but out of town and can't enjoy.. Anyhow, I have been leaving mine plugged in straight into the USB ports on the tower. I'm not going to do that now. TM didn't offer any advice, but I sure don't want to go through having to ship it back again.
  13. Wynn, I'd have to go back and try to find them, seems like one of them was fighterops forum. I was in my patrol unit and was doing it from my MDT, so I wasn't staying on those sites very long. I mainly just wanted to see what all was being said. It's pretty much the same as on our forum here. I think I entered something like Thrustmaster throttle issues in the search. From that I just browsed around at the hits.
  14. Wynn, I did a search on some other forums, similar conversations going on as we have here. If I had it to do over again, I'd do the update. I know the update is not what caused mine because I didn't even see it until it was too late. Either way, if it's going to brick, you want it to do it now so you can be grounded and play cards with the rest of us. :smartass:
  15. Throttle: 01544 (only number found on mine) Oklahoma
  16. Sorry it took so long to reply, I had to get back and get the info for you. There is a batch number on my invoice. It reads 00000316.. not sure if that is a "shopbuilt" number or an actual TM batch number. My serial number on my throttle is 01544.
  17. I've posted correctly, I think you misread what I posted. No hearsy to it, other than other's that have this issue, "some" have already had the firmware updated prior to the problem. Polite will get you everywhere with me Succellus.
  18. They haven't said yet, I'm going to assume they are going to have me ship it. From what I'm reading, nobody has been able to remedy the issue without shipping it. I hope it doesn't take a long time though. Man, I was really getting familiar with the A-10 and the WH LOL. Edit: I finally called them, they are having me ship to Canada. Very nice on the phone, they seem real willing to help out, no run around so far.
  19. Smokey, did they have you to just send the throttle only, or did they want the whole thing back? I'm a little worried about the joy stick now LOL. Paranoia sets in...
  20. No, I didn't have the newest firmware installed, but from what I've seen on other forums, multiple people who "have" had the new firmware installed have experienced this same failure with the throttle.
  21. Just updating in case this becomes epidemic.. Got instructions this morning from TM along with firmware file. No joy upon completing their instructions. Sent them another email and waiting for further instructions now.
  22. Yes, same exact problem totally dead. Just got instructions from TM, followed them, still no joy. Waiting on further instructions.
  23. Check the other thread, it looks like to me that firmware or not, some of us still got the same thing going on. Waiting to hear from TM on mine as we speak. I figure it's got a date with a UPS truck :joystick:
  24. Wow so the firmware WASN'T a saver then. I don't feel so stupid now. Still sucks we are all grounded.. or at least I am. :(
  25. Thanks Paul, I heard from BLT who immediately passed me on to TM as I figured due to the 32 says past shipping LOL. I think I'd rather work with TM anyhow on it since it's not an isolated thing. Thanks again for your reply.
